A year (and around two weeks) ago, me and my now wife met in a raiding guild, we were in the same raid team and started talking in vent more and more sometimes even pissing of the Gm by going into a private channel in the middle of a boss fight, several months later, and some shameless courting on my part, we finally started dating, and low and behold, a year later we're married with a little one on the way, all because of WoW and insomnia inducing raid nights.
I met the coolest group of people in early MoP. We started a raid team just before Isle of Thunder came out, so we were still in old content like MSV and HoF. Most of us hadn't raided before, and it was obvious. Our dps was crap, our understanding of mechanics was crap, but, they didn't mind. They helped us as much as we could. After a while, we had a good thing going. Due to reasons left unspoken, we were kicked out of our guild, and started a new one. Which we also got kicked out of/left. Then we moved to another one. You can see what happened next. Anyway, we're all comfortably in a new guild on a new server with all new characters, and we're still thick as thieves.
I started out playing with people I knew in RL, pretty much exclusively. Soon our guild attracted like-minded others, so I had a few WoW friends that I had not met in RL. And then, over time, my RL friends found other things to do ... but I kept making new in-game friends, so now it's th other way around. I still have a few WoW friends that I know in RL, but for the most part, my friends are digital. Then again, I'm happily married. Then again again, I met my better half online... long ago, before WoW was even on the radar.
I was mad at a guy who took a hell lot of plants right before me. I whispered him and it turned out that he is an amazing fella, so we added each other on friendlist. I still see him in a few months every year personaly.
I remember two years ago that I was doing raids with the guild. A new memeber joined and she didn't know how to play. I tought how to play an she wanted know more. I did started a new toon with her and we started doing chatting on skype and we became good friends. We still play WoW together and I just meet her for the first time at my school. My friends mess with me about her, but we are fine with it.
I came back to wow about two years ago after about a four year "quit". I met a warlock who wanted be to sign his guild charter and so i did and now that guild is lvl 25 and has lots of active members. Once in the guild our friendship only got stronger and we've been friends ever since!
I recently returned from a 2.5 yr hiatus from WoW (real life priorities took precedent, you know..babies and such). Prior to that I had met some great people and forged solid friendships in WoW. I was quite happy to discover that within a month of my return, several others from the old gang had decided to return as well. We've put the band back together, and Pandaria will never be the same!

I've met plenty of good friends playing WoW. Even though some of us have kinda drifted apart, there are also those of us who've sticked together since 2004. We're living far away from one Another but we try our best to meet up atleast once a year to have a couple of beers and just hang out (one of the best Days of the year to be honest)! And all of those people whom I haven't spoken with in some time are still considered as some of my closest friend. So thanks Blizzard for giving us all a friendship for Life!
As a hunter leveling up in early BC, I wandered around exploring quite a bit. On one such occasion I was passing through Stranglethorn enjoying the tropical feel and lovely scenery when I happened upon another hunter. Being that I had some experience and had been introduced to BRK (Bigredkitty, hunter of legend) and the blog/guidance he provided, I began doing what I always do: Observing this new hunter and making notes on her performance. After a few pulls I began to notice things and offered her some advice (probably about using pets to pull, that was a common problem with hunters back in the day) which she gladly and thankfully responded. Hence-forth a friendship was born that would last until she had to leave WoW for reasons beyond my control (I'm pretty sure she got bored and/or money was tight), but she didn't just up and vanish, she notified me and we bid each other a fond farewell. She'll always hold a special part in the WoW partition of my brain.
I met irl almost anyone of my wow-friends. We usually make a metting every carnival between guild members and other people known in wow :)
I met a friend at my school and we are being the best friend :D
Went to Vegas w/ some of my Guildies, had a blast. Unfortunately I was the only one not on west coast time, I crashed earlier then everyone else :(
I'll be pending to watch this, there are many good stories around, people.
I first met a bunch of my guild mates when we all went to Blizzcon together. Even years later we are all still friends even though some of them have since stopped playing. Recently two of them got married and had a wonderful wedding.
i have made lots o friends in wow
As the GM of a fairly successful guild I was lucky enough to meet a person who has been invaluable to me when it comes to leading. I didn't know how strong the bonds could be with someone i've never met in person! I love my guild and I would have never made it this far without the help of my guildies, one special guildie in particular.
I was new to wow and was in a tiny guild. I reached level 40 (which was the requirement for a mount back then), but didn't have nearly enough gold to buy the training and the mount. A good friend in the guild gave me 60g to help me on my way and it remains the single most generous thing anyone has done for me in-game.
I had an awesome friend back in school. We made our own mind challenges, watched Sailormoon at each other's houses, effectively besties as besties can get. However we lost contact soon after I moved to another city. While honestly we did see each other again on the communication programs rather than WoW, it was in WoW that we reconnected fully, leveling, farming, speed running dungeons together. We eventually met each other IRL on his birthday, and it was awesome. Glad he still hasn't got computer banned from his mom. After 3 years being separated, it was WoW that brought use together again.
the guy who talked me into joining his guild is now my go to groupie for heroics and raiding.
