Party pulled a whole dungeon, hunter feigns death, hunter placed down a M3DDY, party dies, M3DDY resses everyone and successfully skipped all the trash.
At this point you could convince me that they asked chatgpt what features to add and just worked the list from A-Z without doing any actual game design.
This feels like a "OH NO WE MADE IT TOO ACCESSIBLE! FIX IT!" paniced kneejerk. The considered thing would be keep the engineer-only limit, must be used before combat, etc, like it's predecessors were. Not make it only usable in, well, practically zero use cases. No-one's gonna pop it on a world boss, for example.
Midnight Engineering is completely useless outside of making tools and accessories for other actually useful professions and also for the Midnight version of jumper cables for combat rez. It can make Bracers/Boots/Helms but they only allow for using Engineering Embellishments that are super undertuned. The Five Big Booms embellishment is worth 60DPS, not 600 which would still be under other embellishments: 60...
are there any midnight engineering gadgets that dont miss the mark?
Probably just broken for the Race to WF, as a troll. /shrug
I believe M3ddy was being used in M0 death skips (and could also then be used for M+ skips) and blizz decided fun detected
Since loot-a-rang, nitro boost and gliding cloak there hasn't been anything I really cared about for engineering. Thank gawd those still work.
nvm
Ha, and I just made a few hundred thousand on selling so many earlier last week. Thanks for funding the tokens I bought, schmucks!... But seriously, Engineering gets screwed the most when it comes to professions. The one thing we can reliably provide, and it doesn't even work? If not for all the fun gadgets, I would've just gone double gatherer at this point.
If everyone is alive at the end of combat, then the bot should just insta-kill everyone.
Early "exploit" (cause it's not really an exploit, though I'd imagine this being used in higher M+ would make it one if it was the recommended route to skip a bunch of trash.) gets early removal, cause to call it a nerf isn't accurate. It makes this thing useless, only using it open world situations isn't helpful. A self rez for an engineer that isn't a shaman? pointless use of parts. They've made engineering not much fun anymore. There were other ways to "fix" this thing, most easily making in Eng only like the other things. Though, I saw someone else mention that it's likely due to use, or prevent use, in the RWF. Hopefully that's the case and it gets un-fixed in another batch of fixes.
I don't get it. Why is a combat rez after a raid wipe a bad thing? Its like having a vanished rogue buzz back a priest after a wipe, or a shaman use an ahnk-- that's never been a problem before. 🤷♀️Just make it unusable in delves or in combat.
