Night Fae? Really Blizz? Give us Vanquishers Hammer. Guess I'll be going back to Kyrian.... Divine Toll is fine, with the power generation and all, but the Duty-bound Gavel legendary interaction is so much more fun to play with. Then of course, there's Ashen Hollow which has been a main-stay in raids even after the massive nerfs. Night Fae is the least played covenant for ALL THREE specs. How did they think this was a good Idea? I mean, seriously. Seems like the Devs could care less about what the players want, or find enjoyable.
I wanna see Aura of Sacrifice + Aura Mastery make a resurgence to be honest. It was really fun to play that way. Though it was broken for a time but it was still a fun way to play the spec. Havent been a fan of melee Hpally since Glimmer was first introduced.
Kek literally why blessing of seasons? I don’t know how anyone enjoyed playing that even when swapping to nf for collection stuff.
so underwhelming. No infusion fast cast, just the same lazy tree from shadowlands
So, you brought back the least played/least enjoyable covenant ability and not Ashen Hallow.Time to let the interns go, boys.
is it just me or does this feel like theyre really pushing the old hpal style of absorbs and casting instead of the melee healing style we've had for awhile now?
man out of all of them ashenweald. laaaaaame
Are they trolling with the blessing of seasons return? that is one of the worst designed spells in the game ever and they chose to keep that? Ashen is problematic in many ways but at least way better than that trash fire.
Make Light of Dawn heal around you not in cone ffs... you design abilities for organized raid groups.. go pug a M+ and use Light of Dawn and tell us how many did you manage to hit lol... Do you even play the game?
Does anyone ever use Holy Prism? It just seems to underperform.
I hope whoever added Blessing of Summer to the tree had a good laugh because it's some pretty high level of trolling,
I'd like to start by saying I've been playing hpally for over 5 years. The very worst iterations of Hpal I've played are the Maraad's meta and the Ashen Hallow meta, but for different reasons. Also, Blessing of Summer should not have returned in the same form, it needs a major rehaul.Maraad's is an okay theme, you pay your health to heal allies. The issue for me is that it feels extremely bad to play in a progression raiding environment. It makes you die very often, and there are times I have to be extra conscious of the damage I'm taking, and I am literally forced to stop doing my rotation completely. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me as a design decision. Furthermore, it is going to perform a lot worse without the Vanquisher's Hammer interaction that enhanced that playstyle.Ashen Hallow feels really strong, but I wouldn't say it is a fun form of gameplay. The cooldown is too long, so you're twiddling your thumbs until it comes back up. There is very little interaction with the rest of your kit as well. I'm glad it's gone.If I could see hpaladin changed, I'd return the power to Avenging Wrath and give it better blanket raid coverage capability. Right now, it has a niche for 5 target burst healing and tank healing, but if you choose to spec into those niches, you completely lose the ability to blanket heal the raid. Not only that, but your spells that enhance your niche are extremely clunky to use smart casts (beacon of virtue and light of dawn) which oftentimes will choose a target you didn't want to heal, or your targets are all spread from each other. I understand trying to encourage Paladin to be a close range healer, but it feels like resto shaman and even resto druid do so much better of a job healing close stacked targets. Hpaladin needs a truly viable ranged caster variant with some blanket healing mechanics. The days of spamming holy light on single targets are long gone, and it's painfully obvious how crippled hpal is compared to other healers in blanket raid coverage, and its niches don't compensate for that deficiency.
Bye
It's all boring. There's nothing really new here. It's just taking the current hpal builds and reformatting it into a tree.
edit: I want to direct people to someone that has made an absolutely excellent review of the holy pala talents and has made a full talent tree with fixed paths and talents. The distinction between melee and ranged healer is clear, and there are no wasteful 3 point talents that do nothing. This person has even managed to make blessing of summer work. The title of the youtube video is "Holy Paladin Dragonflight Talent Tree DEEP DIVE! | IT'S REALLY BAD! | LET'S FIX IT" and the creator is Zuco WoW. I have been playing paladin since 2006-2007. Retribution or holy and switched to holy in legion.I have examined the holy paladin talent tree. Here are my comments:Overall comment. The placement of the talents seems off and clunky. It seems like the left side is geared towards being a combat single target healer and the right side to being a long range aoe healer. I am not sure if that impression is correct on my part. Yet there are wasteful talents and paths all around.1. The Empyreal ward talent is unnecessary and wasteful. Its connected talents do not make sense to be close to it. Blessing of summer is the only path after it and noone will sacrifise talents to reach the blessing going through a talent that gives some armor on a 10 minute cooldown. Blessing of summer is one of my favorite spells ever added (the reason is personal flavor and i do agree that it is currently weak and wasteful), I know a lot of people do not like it, but I wish it was in a more logical position, possibly replacing empyreal ward, while empyreal ward gets removed.2. Crusader strike (cs) talents like radiant onslaught (2 cs charges) and crusader's might (cs reduces holy shock cd) make sense to be in a path that ultimately leads to the avenging crusader talent (judgment, cs heal when they damage). Even if these two talents would eventually not precede avenging crusader, they they are still too far apart3. I am extremely grateful Tyr's deliverance was implemented again. This was probably the only effective heal over time that holy paladin ever had.4. The talent barrier of faith has 18 sec duration and refreshes a shield that is produced from a proportion of flash and holy light every 6 seconds meaning that 3 applications of the shield will be applied. Since it has a longer cooldown than its duration it means it will have to line up with periods where you can effectively heal by casting. Even then it will put unnecessary strain in the rotation forcing the healer to hard cast to gain value from it. Its only value currently is as a weak instant heal. But since it does passively grant a shield like the legendary which made a portion of holy shock grant a shield, or the wrath of the lich king spell, sacred shield, which granted a small shield, the barrier of faith seems more trouble than the help it provides. Please correct if I am wrong here.5.The light of dawn talents should directly follow the second tier talent of light of dawn. instead, its a whole section of bestow faith or stronger word of glory, followed by the aforementioned heal of the martyr path.6. There are 3 beacon talents whose placement and talent point requirement are clunky and wasteful. Focal light (two points to make beacon transfer 50% instead of 30% healing received) tower of radiance (grants holy power when healing the beacon target with flash or holy light) and beacon of faith or virtue (mark a second beckon target to 4 allies). I believe beacon talents should be together and furthermore they should either need less points or there should be less beacon talents. I was never a fan of beacon of light so i am biased with this spell yet I recognize its worth. The only beacon talent I love is saved by light because it passively shields the target. The beacon of faith should have had always been off global cooldown to allow reactive play and not have to wait a significant amount of time relative to high pressure situations to change it.7. Auras are another class of spells that should have been off global cooldown to improve quality of life, and this is point I have conversed with a number of streamers, stating that unless absolutely required they just sit on the same aura. The aura has worth and getting off gcd will help people use it during the appropriate occasions.8. Mobility spells are the last spell I believe should be off gcd, for any class. Especially now that evokers have talents and spells geared towards this. being reactive to avoid or come in range should be rewarded. There are 4 talents in the general pala tree required to make decent mobility spell for the paladin, i am sure a lot of people wont even sacrifice that many talents for this.9. Holy shock talents have been dealt with very efficiently the talent tree efficiently accommodates holy shock paths.10. Divine revelation is an efficient talent yet it requires 3 precious talent points. It is also dependent on the proc infusion. It feels like something I would require but i couldnt afford.Final comments:It is understandable that not every talent will see play, not every talent should be used. Builds should be distinct, whether they are focused on combat melee single target, aoe ranged or any mix of that. whether someone wants hard cast more and focus on holy and flash of light or have more instants with martyr, dawn, holy shock and word of glory. But if there are talent points, build paths that will not see any play I urge not make the mistakes of the past and move forward. Even for the ret tree, justicars vengeance is a talent that has not been picked by essentially anyone for over 4 years. In general, players will always find the "meta" the most optimal builds and communities will often bully those who dont follow it, i have experienced this, but lessening the impact between choices may allow for more freedom in modes of the game that dont stand at the pinnacle of the competitive scene. The final thing that many holy pala streamers and I share is a distrust of the holy power system. I can accept that it wont happen in dragonflight but holy pala has always had a difficulty to assimilate holy power in critical points since he cannot always be in melee range. As a final suggestion a counterpart to wake of ashes for holy could be nice e.g. holy prism providing 3 holy powers, or healing with beacon of virtue. In any case I hope this expansion solves a lot of the ingame system issues players have had in the past regarding quality of life e.g. the covenant conundrum, or the need to have 4 bags full of gear in case the next patch made a stat lower in priority, as well as gearing. The world itself and the activities to do within it should be appreciated, instead of working a second job within wow constantly slaving off to get a piece that will be replaced in a month, a momentary gratification, coming after luck based grinding. No wonder people required 20 and more item level higher geared people to grind mythics skipping the tactics for a chance to get something in the weekly chest.
I have been playing paladin for over 5 years now. And here are my contributions,1. Blessing of Summer is not really a problem, all the others are. Blessing of the Seasons is a TERRIBLE skill and its rotation turn it hard to work with in most enviroments. Take off Blessing of the Season, let only Blessing of Summer be on the tree with a 1 minute CD and that would be great. In comparison, Priests PI has a 2 min CD and it is a LOT more impactful.2. How the holy paladin is a melee paladin and it is terrible at its job? Almost all casts are hard casts. Please, change Infusion of Light to reduce the Holy Light casting time. This is a request for AGES. 3. Holy Prism. Fix the numbers or take it off.4. Empyreal Ward is interesting a sure as hell it will have its niche, but its placement is terrible.5. Avenging Wrath: Might. I didn't get it. Its sums with the original? I mean ONE avenging wrath with 40% heals and DMG? Or its a "second charge" of avenging wrath? I would write more, but a lot of what i think is a lot more well described by a lot of people above. I hope you guys fix the tree, I hope it turns out fun =)
Blessing of Vivaldi, I mean seasons, needs to go. Just give us Holy Radiance back instead which will fit the caster playstyle they are pushing, so we can have a weak AoE healing Holy Power builder and strong AoE healing Holy Power spender (with the appropriate talents for Light of Dawn ofc).
