DKs are #1! :D
you have not learned anything from past mistakes, again you are inserting wrong talents in all talent branches of the classes. again the classes have mobility feats or DMG absorb and off healing which ruin the game even more. spells, GCD, as wrong as the previous expansions. It is the same paste copied and glued
I'm quite disappointed with the talents. I was hoping for fun utility stuff like the return of Mirror Ball or Gorefiend's Grasp for all speccs but even Abomination Limb is out of reach for most builds. In the end our choice (apart from "Do I focus on ST or AOE") boils down to "You can have some fun niche utility or something that directly increases dps or survivability" and there is no fun and real choice in that. Never has been. And they can call it choice or whatever they want. It is pruning in disguise. We will have less skills available in any given situation than we do now. There still has been no word on Raise Ally, has there? If we lose that, too, it'll hit us hard. We already brought little utility before.
Frost dk tree is so far maybe the best one there is. You can choose aoe, st and many builds in between if there's some cleave/aoe burst. The dk class tree could have one of the movement abilities somewhere easier but thats about it. The amount of defensive options there for progression is insane though.
As far as the Frost tree looks quite good in my opinion, it's not too exciting to be honest. There's a lot of just old stuff baked into the tree, and while those are some good stuff, there's just too little of the new options - even the author when listing "new stuff" was constantly writing that "it's similiar to x", or "it's an iteration of x". Only new options are Bonegrinder, Invigorating Freeze and Chill Streak buffs. While cool and somewhat neat, it's just too little for me, it's a whole new expansion with a heavy focus on class changes, and we got just too little love. But, apart of the Frost Tree (which again, I think it's really not that bad) the thing that I'm mad about are dicrepancies between class baseline abilities. It's not about the amount, but about what the others got. Our baseline abilities are absolutely trash - water walking and Acherus teleport? Wow.Rogues have baseline interrupt, stun, movement buff, emergency healing, hunters also have movement buff, emergency heal, damage reduction buff and disengage…And we have rune strike - something that will never be used. Frost DK got a free Death Coil, which will be used only by Unholy DKs! Great, now I can put it into my bar and never use it in my rotation! This is ridiculous. I get that we are still before testing phase, but that big of a difference between classes is absolutely comical.I really hope it will be looked into and heavily changed.
Firts row in the class tree must be changedMake Frost/Blood/Unholy Presence the first row in the class tree and move the current talent in other position (Rasie Dead should be an optional talent, not forced to take to get anything else in the Unholy part of the class tree)And make some way to move horizontally in that tree, it's basically 3 different separated tree instead of one...
I don't think more powerful forges and will of the necropolis is worth the lost mobility by not taking wraith walk, nor the absurd damage and utility that abom limb gives. At all.
Love that we can make so many different builds and have them saved for quick loadouts during dungeons and raids. All of the talent trees will need a little work but we've got half a year to get through it. This is the only system to work on and it's not like they need a lot of improvement. Just a few things here and there. I remember hearing we'll get more talent points during the expansion too. They wanted to be able to reward people with something that will carry forward through the expansions and Ion said that could come from the talents.
Please, please, p l e a s e for one tier can 2handed Frost be closer to equal with dual wield? What's the point of having it in when you know you're gimping yourself unless you have like 60%+ mastery and even then you can't do what breath build is capable of. It's been the same nonsense since Legion, why do we need 4 dual wield 1 handed weapon classes? It's lame as fugg. At least monk ended up getting the ability to use a 2hander and it doesn't equal a damage loss. There's a lot of flavor for some people using a big weapon vs feeling like a blue fury warrior or rogue. I get it some might say "well yeah then it'd just be x amount of 2handed classes what's the difference?" I agree. So why not just make both equal the same damage output and it be preferential? Or just let me tmog these dumb 1 handed swords to a 2hander. No difference to playstyle just visually more appealing. I just see the Unholy Bond talent and immediately think "yeap, DK's gonna be the same bull&*!@ yet again" Yay for exclusively having to play ret if you wanna play a 2handed class that does good damage compared to it's other specs. No, I'm not playing unholy that #$%^ is garbage. Blizzard !@#$ting the bed, continuing to cater to this Breath of Sindragosa cockery.
GJ on The Guide Bro, But I'm Seeing 1 Problem With Breath Build, it's nice and strong to have icecap with the breath, but the talent to open icecap (Cold Blooded Rage) doesn't work very well with the breath, since I see so many options that make breath very long +1:30 min at less, so we not going to use frost strike at all, so is it going to be worth spending 2 talent points on something going to be useless?, instead, we can get Cold heart + avalanche + Enduring Strength, witch all of them works good with the breath, so what is going to be stronger? also, this build requires a lot of crits to make a pillar of frost buff on you all the time, especially on a single target, and at the start of the expansion we won't have much stats to make it work good, i think this breath build need Crit>Haste>Mastery, but without icecap, we go Mastery>Crit>Haste so we get more Frost Damage + Extra Passives and Attacks, BTW I might be wrong but I'm trying to study the spec very well and avoid taking any talents we not going to use.
I would love to see Chains of Ice swapped with Icebound Fortitude. Having to select Chains of Ice just to get IBF is a waste of a point in most raid situations. It would also free up a point for Mind Freeze if an interrupt is not needed on fights like Skolex.
