Idk, I'm only doing ZM on one character, didn't even start the questline on my alts, and I'm also getting this message.
SOOOO.. what if it is NOT being researched by another character on our account? How do we begin the research on it?

Yep encountered this bug today and the forums are starting to catch fire. Why its this way nobody knows, Bug? Intended? Have to have the other one done before that one is done ? Any information from a Blue would be welcome for sure.

That's the bug: it's showing the error message even if you're not researching it on a different character.
I'm really hoping that they can knock out this bug come Monday morning and it can make it into the growing list of bugfixes to address on a server reset. If they don't fix it Monday, it'll get put on the backburner for all of the raid fixes and tuning they'll be doing, especially for not just one but THREE untested encounters, over the next 2-3 weeks for the World First raiders.

GM has replied to ticket regarding this - confirming that it is a bug.

How things like these get thru the whole PTR stuff?And it is something the it's in the core system of the zone.
Everyone I've talked to experiencing this bug still has Altonian Understanding going (and possibly Sopranian now as well). My guess is somehow the trait being locked is tied to a second-row understanding research in-progress. All the research times on PTR were 5 seconds so this would have been a pretty tough bug to pick up due to the way the real-world timing shakes out.Hopefully it's an easy fix.
I don't think this is a bug. I bet is a time gate for until the raid launches or some other weekly setting non-sense.
Yea, I was very confused why I was getting this error. I even checked on my other alts I've begun researching. I hope this is fixed by reset.
