Personally I liked it

It is a good movie if you just remove every Warcraft lore related term from it. Because it basically spat on the lore in every possible way.
It was going so side ways also i didnt like Young Khadgar version at all as in game we know his as very old and middle age not some as early 20
I'll always have fond memories of this film, not just because it was Warcraft, but because I got a personal invitation to the European premiere prior to the release date from Legendary Entertainment.It was a good day :)Except for the having to travel over 100 miles to get there, but small sacrifices! :D

As much of a fan I am of Duncan Jones and the effort he put in the movie as a director and a fan of WoW, I don't think ultimately he was the right choice of director for the movie. You look at some of the scenes and you wonder if they just took the first take and called it a day. There was also no cohesion to the acting if that made any sense, it was like each actor was doing their own thing without any effort to make it seem like they were all characters in the same world / setting. I think also the scale of the production out matched him. This was Duncan Jones first huge budget movie compared to his initial efforts in Moon and Source Code and I think it overwhelmed him. While ILM did a good job with the Orc CGI, the human part was terrible in comparison. I think the movie needed a director who had the experience and gravitas to only accept a floor of quality and could push movie executives to fully commit but him being new to a big production movie I think he just had to accept everything that was happening and make the best out of the situation. I think the most disappointing thing though is that he still defends the Warcraft movie as being great on social media. Yes I don't deny many people really liked the movie...but 27% on RT and 40 million dollars made domestically in the US speaks for itself, I'm not excited about any potential sequel if the guy directing it thinks nothing was wrong with something that was so clearly flawed.
I heard it was bad and the ads didn't do anything for me so I never saw it. The hyper realism style did not suit it - kinda remind me of WC3 reforged really. It was also somewhat sunk by the fact that it came out during WOD when the story of the dark portal was now extra confusing for someone who hadn't consumed the whole body of lore, and when people were basically just waiting for Legion to come out. So, a subpar product released at a rough time, Kind of sounds like Shadowlands actually.
Watched on theater at this time and enjoyed it. Too bad no sequel.

I loved the movie , would love to see a sequel if possible Wrath of the Lich King storyline .
I dont care what anyone says or what the reviewers say I loved it, and I watched it with 2 people who knew nothing about wow and they too loved it, and was interested in the lore even more! It was a awesome film and i kinda hope they do more for sure. Duncun was such a good director, and he also suffered a loss during filming but he still soildered on. I still hope we get another. And Maybe have Henry Cavil as Arthas when we get there :3
I don't know why people disliked it. Personally I really liked it. It wasn't 100% true to the lore, but that's a norm when it comes to live action adaptations, they do change the story a bit, because apparently they want to keep a sense of uncertainty of where the story goes. I loved the portrait of the relationship between gamora and (lothar was it?) , how the king sacrificed himself , it was more emotional than Gul'dan mind controlling her. Perhaps the only thing I disliked was how Gul'dan was portrayed, because he seemed less manipulative and cunning than what I would prefer. He was a bit too brutal and more like a tyrant. But all in all, the movie doesn't deserve all this hate.
I liked the movie, own it on Blu Ray too ... But!I really think this should've been a TV Show to begin with. At least one season of 10 full length an hour long episodes each. As a fan and player, I got all the references and knew the story but I could totally feel for average Joe and Jane who would've heard so much about this franchise and went to see the movie but couldn't understand most of characters and story.
And we all want to forget that, thanks.
