I'm loving this holiday, just spent 25 minutes dropping a flag and dancing with the alliance without getting attacked by anyone.
In response to School of Hard Knocks, especially concerning WSG:The way I would do this is by getting a premade of guildies. That sounds like the safest way, to go into the bg's with the intent of just doing the achievements. This way, you have your raid grab the flag, you ALL pile on the offending team, you all get a chance to return the flag without ever turning your own in, then just leave.
Concerning Oracle Orphan (Roo) and Wolvar Orphan (Kekek)"You can also choose to sponsor either of these 2 unfortunate orphans by talking to Orphan Matron Aria in Dalaran. You can only pick one or the other orphan to adopt, so choose wisely as you will have to wait until next year to obtain the other pet!"It's next year,(2010) but I can't get the other pet(-Quest)Edit:In the 2011th event I got the other pet(-Quest)
school of hard knocks is the most annoying achievement in the entire meta chain, as not only is it the one real achievement there that requires solid pvp, but it also messes up bgs with every pver coming into a pvp enviroment.I have some tips though for it.1 - The arathi basin one is pretty standed based on luck. You see a flag, and if its the colour of your rival faction, grab it. neutral colour flags don't work, so it'll have to be a case of waiting and getting lucky.2 - The warsong one, this can be either hard or easy depending if you get a nice player on the opposing faction. Just wait in the starting room and wait for one of them to grab the flag. If you see them pick up the flag, but drop it themselves, DON'T KILL THEM, there there to help you get the achievement3 - The eots one is a scrumfest. The only real method is luck here, as your side will be killing the opposing side near the flag and keeping them at bay, and trust me, the second the flag appears it'll be roll of the dice if you get it along with 5 other people. 4 - This one again can be hard, or easy, depending. If you go to a tower of bunker of the opposing faction (not your own factions one, needs to be the oppose) and wait, if theres a decent player, you see them grab the flag but not attack anyone, they are there to help, so let them claim the flag back, then you take it, then they take it again, and the next person takes it. I found this doesn't work for if I'm stood in my own factions tower like I say.
Actually, School of Hard Knocks ain't very hard. yesterday when i was doing it, i got it done in 2 hours. easiest was it in WSG and AV when the allies actually helped you out. But then you got AB and EotS, when people keep capping without really even needing it. Anyways, my point is you will get it done if you put alot of effort in it, even better if you got about 5.5 k gs pvp gear, then you can at least survive.

Yay 2 more pets. Also, dang Northrend orphan thing bugged.
I was under the impression that you could only EVER get one of the Dalaran pets- I'd love to have both :) I'll have to check tonight and see if it's available- it wasn't yesterday. It says under the guide that the SW orphan chain requires only level 10 to complete, but yesterday I couldn't pick it up on my level 30 rogue. Anyone else having that issue?
I'd looove to keep mine too! Gives to the game an interesting side. I wonder if we'll ever be able to keep children in this game. Think my mage would love to be a super mom! :P
