realID is the reason I'm done with WoW. Its fine that Blizzard has no care for their personal information, but I do. I'm not going to be throwing my personal information to everyone just because Kotnick wants to compete with farmville. Sad to see what this has become, but change for the better.
I still want the "offline" option... There are times when I'm playing a game and I don't want to talk to people, not because I'm busy, but because I'm not in the mood or trying to unwind and just want a little time to myself. Real ID and Friends Lists in general don't allow for that. MSN and Steam both have similar functionality, to name a couple.

I think it's a step in the right direction. The stubborn point of not allowing users to select an alias is still a bit annoying.I don't need Blizzard to offer me BlizzBook; I (grudgingly) have Facebook for social networking. As long as I still have the right to opt-out of using it, and they don't make it mandatory for any major game functions, I don't care what they do with it.
