An Easy Renown Farm This Week: Comp Stomp!

This week's PVP Brawl is Comp Stomp, a version of Arathi Basin against bots. You may remember this brawl from its storied history as
a great source of Blood of the Enemy in BFA
, and then
a bug took it out of the PvP brawl rotation almost exactly a year ago
.
Comp Stomp Rewards Renown
Excitingly, Comp Stomp can reward Renown, in addition to lots of
Honor
for each win (and a small amount of
Conquest
per win, plus a big chunk of Conquest for your first win of the week). This Renown reward appears to follow similar chances to other sources, from testing so far it appears to happen more than 90% of the time below Renown 30, tapering off to become more inconsistent (maybe down to 50%?) above that point.
Games of Comp Stomp last anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes depending on how rapidly you secure the 5 cap. There's also 2 minutes before each game while the gates open, plus another 0 to 3 minutes in queue each game. Depending on which side of these scales you land, you may find Comp Stomp to be more or less efficient than other Renown farming techniques, such as the popular Torghast Layer 9 spam. Another advantage of Comp Stomp relative to something like the Torghast farm is that it is much much easier, but if your character is very geared and executing a covenant swap, rather than a fresh alt, for example, you may find Torghast to be the better method for you. If you do want to use Comp Stomp, make sure to do it this week, as it will not be available again until November!
NOTE: The usual Renown Gain popup and item notification in chat do NOT appear as normal, so the best way to check if you gained renowned is to compare your Renown Level before and after the battleground!
Comp Stomp Queues and Strategy
If you've never done Comp Stomp before, queueing for it is as simple as opening up the LFG tool and choosing the PVP brawl. You can queue by yourself, in a small group, or even in a full 15 stack to speed things up further.
In terms of strategy, if you're a geared character the most you can do to shave time off your run is to rush the farthest base as quickly as possible and prevent it from becoming fully captured by the other side and turning into a graveyard. If you can successfully claim it in the first minute of the game, you can prevent a drawn out siege of the base. If your character is less powerful, sitting a base instead is a fine idea - just don't go fully AFK, as there are a few stealthed characters that like to attack bases - especially Farm or Stables. Ideally you want to get all five bases and then hold the enemy at their graveyard for a minute or so until the victory comes in - they will try to disperse to different bases if they can exit their spawn area but if you can get in combat with them they will stay and fight.
Warning! These enemies have some older versions of our abilities, so be prepared to get hit with some 5 second Leg Sweeps!

I have been doing this event with a few alts to farm Marks of Honor for transmogs. The bots in this event are incredibly stupid and often I have seen them get confused with what to do, I saw one walking back and forth between a player and a capture point as it didn't know what to do (and it wasn't even being attacked).
It wasn't being stupid, it was waiting for support. I've seen them do this too. No point dying alone.

I've just done 8 of these in a row at 59 with no renown.
