So alliance doesn't get nightborne because Tyrande's a ^&*!@. Gotcha
All of this fighting about a video game, something that we do for fun, and the only concern I have is, what happened to the original voice over guy? It just seemed weird to me that the introductions were being done by a different person than the one who did all the others.
i just realized that it makes no sense for both the light forged dranaei and the void elves to be in the same faction. wouldnt there be hostility towards each other? I wonder if there would be snidbits of conversation talking about one another in a harsh light....
So bloody lame that they were cool with giving the alliance trash like Lightforged and Void Elves.
Is it just me or nightborne first 2 cutscenes feel odd, if not forced? In first one only Tyrande feels like she's in her character, Thalissra and Liadrin totally behave out of character - Liadrin would not *!@#talk NElves to the point of actually stating that they did nothing for azeroth (hello? who fought in war of the ancients, who also fought archimonde, and also fought in vanilla wow while someone chose to sit isolated in silvermoon? It would be a gross understatement to say that nelves just slept through everything) all that while they, belfs, spilled their blood for this world (really? not present pretty much in war of the ancients, crushed in scourge invasion and pretty much not present till very TBC). It just feels so out of character for Liadrin to say smth like that. And then Thalissra getting hissy about Tyrande words? As if she doesn't know for herself of what Azshara did, and Elisande after her. Thatlissra we know from suramar questing was way smarter and reasonable, and certainly above petty squabbles based on who said what. Not to mention that aliiance heroes helped nightbourne just as much as horde. Then in second video - it also seems off/forced. Lothremar finally gets a perfect opportunity to restart relations with Alliance since there is new king who has nothing to do with past offenses and offers to open diplomatic relations. But instead this chance gets brushed off even before it's spoken to the end in quite hostile manner, as if someone was pulling strings/putting words into his mouth, as Alleria noticed. Not quite reasonable from any perspective.Gotta admit though, Tyrande does behave like a total ass sometimes (most of the times when it's about other elves). Which is in her character, but not really helping anyone in alliance or at all.Either way, whole narrative about nightborne "reasons" feels heavily forced onto lore and characters involved, and quite often they behave totally out of character during these cutscenes.Other topic would be why void elves, and why lightforged draenei. Highmountain taurens are obvious as well as zandalari (frequently requested races). From "ooc" perspective it's obviously to facilitate "belves for alliance, nelves for horde" equality, but imo it would make more sense in nightborne were neutral faction, void elves alliance, and alliance could easily do without draenei clone race and just iron dwarves + void elves. That's my imo atl.
He is like this in every discussion, and he never breaks out of character. Just leave it be, and let him do his thing.
As a Horde player, I never saw myself as belonging of the "bad" faction, it's just an other philosophy, about honor, nature, strength and respect ( For the most of them ). I'm quite fed up about Blizzard using the Horde almost everytime as the aggressor : poisoning, Garrosh and our new "warchief" Sylvanas ...( the faster we can get rid of her, the better ! Vol'jin was so much better, but I guess a "sexy" "edgy" girl is more appealing ... ) No faction or race is utterly good or bad, it's like real country, everyone has they proud and shaming moments, they are made of multiple actions between the spectrum of good and bad. That's why the Horde fluff is more "thick" and less bland than Alliance, they are closer to the reality. But at the end, it's their story, they decide.About Liandrin biases in the discussion ... Well, it might sound very surprising but almost everyone is biased when he/she speak, people are not neutral historians, they have they biases, interest, environnement ... The nightelves were hesitating beween their two factions, as they both help them, and Tyrande ease the decision, that's all. At least she is a way more interesting character than the 'perfect-holy-bland-boy-king'. ( I hope BfA will make him more interesting )
"BOY-KING"very true
I'm going to preface this comment with the fact that as a person who plays Alliance, I will most likely be biased. What bothers me about the Horde receiving the Highmountain and Nightborne is that they are getting the two races that characters from both factions have had the most interaction with throughout this entire expansion. I can't even count any Argus questing because most of it is with Alleria, Turalyon, Velen, and Illidan; as an Alliance member, the relationship I have established between my character and the lightforged Draenei pales in comparison to that of the Tauren and Nightborne from the far better storylines in Highmountain and Suramar. Watching the conversation between Thalyssra and Liadrin made me wish I had left her to wither; especially because much how Liadrin's comments are out of character, so are Thalyssra's. She's not so petty to let the words of one Alliance ruler speak for the entire faction, not after so many fought for her people to be liberated (Valtrois on the other hand...).(( Also, I believe there was another wowhead article that mentioned how Thalyssra, after joining the Horde, would start her adventure in Ashenvale, which is a huge "eff you" to the Night Elves since that's where the conflict between the Night Elves and the Horde begins to escalate. Alas, I digress. ))My point is, the Horde is getting races that they spent the entire expansion fighting beside. That's not a bad thing for them; but it puts the Alliance in an uncomfortable position because we, too, fought beside them and worked to make their homes a better place. Before watching that video, I didn't want to fight Mayla Highmountain or Thalyssra I would have preferred Allied races integrated in ways like the Mag'har, Taunka, or (God forbid) High Elves: a situation where the Alliance or Horde has been fighting alongside them for a considerable amount of time while their counterpart hasn't had much exposure or offered as much. All in all, I'm not entirely satisfied with the justification of the Nightborne's intgeration into the Horde. I also think Blizzard should figure out what they want from all three of those women (Liadrin, Tyrande, and Thalyssra) because none of them are acting like themselves (I have been confused about Tyrande since the "A Little Patience" scenario).
Bring back Garrosh, make Horde great again!
I find the whole Nelf vs Nborne very interesting because it puts both in a not so very good perspective. The Nightborne (Nightfallen at the time) just needed help period and would be desperate enough to ask anyone for help. However, the Night Elves are justified to be suspicious, even hateful towards the Nightborne. Let's start with three characters, long ago when Azshara was going to blow up the world. You had Tyranda Whisperwind (a night elf), Dath'remar Sunstrider (a night elf/highborne at the time), and First Arcanist Thalyssera ( also a night elf/ Nightborne at the time). The reason Tyrande has gone her whole life in game seeming to be calm, kind, and understanding is because the people she interacted with (Kael/Brox) have never done her intentional harm. But one person cant be nice all the time. Tyrande has been betrayed numerous times by people she thought she had kinship with. Thalyssera sided with the faction of highborne that supported Azshara, while Dath'remar and his highborne switched sides and helped Tyrande against Azshara. This is why Tyrande is kind to Kael when she meats him and cruel to Thalyssera. There is also some perspective to be looked at too. After the fight with Azshara, most of the night elves (I'm going to include Maive) couldn't tell the difference between good and bad highborne and wanted to genocide anyone using arcane magic. Dath'remar exiled himself and his people to save them. I don't beleive Tyrande agreed to this since she helped his decendents (Kael) later on because she knew those particular highborne where not supporting Azshara.Thalyssera and her lot did support Aszhara. In Tyrande's eyes, from first hand experience, believed that the nightfallen got exactly what they deserve. It isn't unreasonable for the kind hearted Tyrande from the Warcraft games to turn instantly bitter about anything Azshara or those that supported her. As for Liadrin. She wasn't there a long time ago, and since then the contenent split in half. When she claims that the night elves hid in their hidy holes while her people saved the world, is justified only because she is thinking about the World as her world (aka silvermoon, reversing woods, and to an extent the eastern kingdoms). The only actual world threatening thing Liadrin has experienced similar to Tyrande is the Cataclysm. Her opinions on the night elves are also justified from quests in eversong woods and the ghostlands where the night elves are spying and threatening the blood elves. In conclusion, everyone is justified, but everyone is also guilty for something. It is the same old horde vs alliance theme. I personally think it would be weird to have Tyrande and Thalyssera on the same side considering they are 1. The same age, the alliance already has two oldies (velen and Tyrande) 2. From the same city (they gonna fight for who gets Suramar), and 3. I personally want to see a cat fight between two 10,000 year old women. No bows, no spells, no Elune, and no nightwell. A caged match. Two women enter, one leaves.
cant wait for everyone to become really attached to their faction and everyone turns against each other in real life because of an in-game fictional factionalso cant wait to roll all of these races
