But the moar portent question is will awnurr be resetting? ^.- conq/valor will I know but what bout awnurr? It didnt reset in 9.1 so can we expect the same treatment?
They just won't let the stupid upgrade system die... Keep the system for pve ilvl of the pieces and put honor gear to a flat 259 pvp and conquest to 285 pvp and the system is fine!
so the gearing system has been improved but is far from finished.. like the honor cap at 15k when upgrading 1 time can cost upwards of 25k+ i had to keep buying honor gear to place them in my bags to counter this on my chars. even for me whos got alot of pvp experiene find the gear GAP crazy, from unranked to maxed out with sockets and conduits its never been this big of a difference. i remember ppl being annoyed u needed 2.2k for the best weapons back in cataclysm, this ruins the will to improve for alot of ppl when most games just comes down to whos got the best gear. id say 1.6k is definetly a better cap for the best pvp gear, weapons could be capped at 1.8 sure but upgrading 8 times for pvp is TO much. the way its put together only suits ppl like me whos already got an "easy" way to get the rating required while others will struggle lacking experience AND gear, double hurdle for newcomers who want to get into pvp, i cant imagine how unmotivating it is for others when even i dont find it fun
Why are there so many ranks of honour gear? Why does blizzard want to hamstring casual players?
Can we have rewards for 2700 Cr? For example a token which we could buy previous gladiator mounts. Or some T-Mog Gear, or a title. 2700 should be rewarded. The gap between 2400 (glad mount and titles) and 3100 (rank 1 title) is too much. There should be something in the middle
Honor gear will only be relevant in the first few weeks while there is a conq cap. After that it's not worth buying honor gear as you'll be wasting your time grinding. Possible exceptions could be for a second ring or trinket because you can use Honor and Conquest trinkets of the same time, ie you're a human running double on-use trinket or you're a disc priest who wants double haste rings. Below is the amount of honor needed per tier to upgrade your entire gear, assuming you're at the same level on all items11075 Conquest for full setCoI 9575>COII 11550>CHI 13,525>CHII 15,350>RiI 17,325>RiII 19,300>DU 23,100> EL 27,025If you go from unranked to Duelist you are looking at a grand total of 109,725 honor
i agree there should be some sort of cosmetic award for 2700 or something. As of right now a lot of people just kinda stop once they hit glad if they aren't motivated to push higher. When i get it i'll keep going but other than the 2700 achieve to help you get into better groups there really is no incentivealso i think the gear gap is fine. i literally just started to pvp 2 months into SL S1 and i already got my 2200 achieve and got 3 dif classes to duelist. If you want it bad enough and try hard enough you'll be much happier when you reach each goal rather than being handed it. the only thing that needs to change is make honor uncapped and xferrable to alts at a discount like soul ash is.
I think it would be good to remove the renown requirement for honor gear. They're already behind in hp and conduits, it would be nice if they could upgrade to max honor gear.
Honor gear will be irrelevant for everyone. Anyone above 1800 currently has the max rank of honor gear. If you aren’t 1800 right now, then honor gear won’t make a huge difference for you anyways, since it’s likely skill holding you back
Casual players can’t have fun in pvp, getting proper pvp gear takes ages. All of my friends quit playing after 2 weeks once they found out it would take them forever to catch up with all the systems, including pvp gear. You already have to level renown, grind Torghast for your legendary, get all your conduits up to a certain level.
This gearing system for PvP is trash and needs gone. It's too bad they didn't do it this patch but they better next xpac.
I love how the upgrade system gets used in other MMOs like Lost Ark that everyone is going crazy over because it feels like "meaningful progression" to upgrade a piece instead of just replacing it. But when that system is in WoW people just #$%^& for whole expacs.I mean to be fair WoW uses systems that are loved in other games but our player base is just abunch of whiny $%^&*es that want ^&*! given to them for free.
It's terrible for PvP and not the way gearing has worked for most (better) seasons of the game's life where people have not quit in such a mass exodus. SWTOR for example does have a gear upgrade system but it's a lot easier to get to the best gear and there's some equalizing done in PvP while you're still gearing.Huge iLvl gaps are bad for WoW PvP.
As a pvp-er for the past 16 years, I detest this system. It's just hamster-on-a-wheel ridiculousness. Just use points and a vendor like before. So many useless and frustrating systems. I know they believe it increases their time-played metrics, and it might, but that doesn't equate to revenue. You know what does? More sub fees, i.e. more players. There would be a massive influx of players AND time-played numbers if the old vendor system came back.
