It will be very interesting to see whether, if you do the weekly quest on different characters, you still get this cache and whether the "guaranteed pet drop" that comes from the cache could potentially give different pets for different characters?

How do I get this cache? It's not showing as a reward from the weekly quests, either the warrant or the phase diving quest.

This Cache is rewarded at the end of a substantial quest chain that is kicked off by The Oasis which takes you (back) to the eco-dome where you'll be contributing to the Ecological Succession efforts.

Week 1: Save the Bees! You'll be asked to travel to Stormsong where several bee-themed quests await you. You'l be returning with a Queen Bee and some honey bees who will make a new home in the EcoDome. You'll continue moving through a quest chain and then get some dailies. After you introduce the bees to the ecodome, you'll get your weekly quest: Ecological Succession. Fill the Ecological Succession bar, which upon completion rewards the Wriggling Pinnacle Cache.

In the following weeks, you'll move through the same process related to six additional species: Thorntails, Rays, Snakes, Slatebacks, Lapbugs, and K'arrocs. Small versions of some of these species are among the pet rewards.

My first cache rewarded iLvl 668 gear, a Cerulean Lapbug pet (one of many available over the course of the event), and some various expansion currencies. The cache also has a chance to include Curious Slateback.

After opening 30 of it I've only obtained a pet from the first one. So it does seem first one more then likely guarantee a pet or the mount once per week. Unless its just really rare to obtain a pet/mount after the first one I dont think we are able to obtain another pet/mount from the cache the same week. Will be interesting to see if we are able to get dupes of the same pets if they dont change how it works ofc.

Edit: Seems like people unfortunately have confirmed that we are able to get dupes from it

I seriously hope we can't get duplicates until we have all the pets/mount.

As there are 12 pets from this and 1 mount it will be 3 months to get them all if we can't get duplicates. With duplication could be considerably longer.

In case you are stuck like me, you can gain 3% progress by activating Data Collection Drone and you can gain 1% by fishing up Hydrobite.

So for those wondering, it seems unfortunately you CAN get duplicates in this. I got a
Copper Lapbug last week, learned the pet, and this week just opened another Cache, and got another Copper Lapbug on the same character.

I bought all the pets 3x on the AH just to try to force the mount drop. Doesn't work, still received a duplicate pet, even when at 3/3.

Just to add, not only can you get duplicates of pets, but it seems you can also get no pet/mount in your cache, as I so unfortunately found out this week.

Feels like they have timegated the petdrops. Never gotten 2 pets for 10+ chars for 1 week.
Instead of making more quests, worls quests, other fun stuff.....they timegate pets. World of timegate deluxe.
But on the other side, if they dont timegate there is nothing else to do. We are given new areas with very few things to do. Such a waste.
17/9 - Got the Curious Slateback for the second time that I will never use.

These caches recently got a quiet nerf. In the first two weeks i picked up half the pets because they dropped literally almost in every box open. and now I get nothing.

Edit: Players rejoice! or at least those who multibox. If you multibox the cache dropping the first time, every cache will have a pet in it. I just tested and retested this new reset and proved that if 2-3 accounts loot the cache at the same time they will have rewards. but once you log out and try on another team of alts, they will not get anything.

Does anyone know if you get any reputation from completing the associated weekly quest that gives you this "Wriggling Pinnacle Cache"?
It sounds like imma gonna deal with the duplicate / no pet drop problem like this...
Finish and get first weekly reward, repeat on my alts or until I get the mount...
Then buy all remaining missing pets off the AH and stop doing the quest...
UNLESS
I get reputation for running it.. then complete until i max out my Karesh trust, then stop ..
ALL SIGNS POINT TO STOPPING ASAP... LOL ...

Ecological Succession Weekly Reward - Wriggling Pinnacle Cache
The first character each week receives better rewards. If using alts, they must complete tasks simultaneously: Each weekly task provides 20% progress. After completing four tasks (reaching 80% progress), you can party with alts so that they simultaneously gain 20% progress and unlock the pet cache. For example, killing Sthaarbs will give all party members 20% progress at the same time.
An easier method is: Use a watering jug to water plants, deploy a data collection drone, or level torn-up earth—each action provides 3% progress. Complete 7 of them at the same time.

TL;DR:

You are only eligble to receive one of the rare rewards like the pets or mount from the first cache you receive per week on your account.
You can get duplicate pets (which means getting them all just via RNG is gonna take a long time).
It is possible that you will receive no pets or mount from your first cache of the week. It's highly unlikely, but it does happen. I know because it's happened to me and others in this comment section. Therefore there is no guarantee that you will receive one of the pets or the mount from your first cache of the week.
You can cheese this by multiboxing bnet's (note I said bnets. Not wow accounts) on your first cache of the week to therefore get multiple attempts at the pets or mount within the same week.
The pets are cage-able so you can buy/sell them on the AH.
Yes, Blizz was unfathomably stupid for setting it up this way.

So I completed the quest, said I had received the cache in the chatbox, looked in my bags and could not find it what so ever, re-logged checked mail etc and it looks as if I never received it. Anyone else had this? Or is this yet another ticket I have to submit to which nothing can be done about it. -_-

I have been getting a lot of duplicates lately, but then again, I always take the same quests to complete this.

Perhaps the rewards (e.g. specific pets or mounts) are semi tied to what quests you do? After getting my fourth Cyan Siphonmite this week I might start mixing it up next week.
