The game has virtually no Community left.
Fed up of waiting for BG PvP, so you can face rivals you'd built up a healthy hatred and respect for in the past?
FINE! Have a dose of instant PvP queues where you get to meet and kill faceless hordes of random players that you have no emotional attachment to, and never ever talk to!
Fed up of queuing for ages to get into a Dungeon, so you can move further up the Gear treadmill?
FINE! Have a dose of instant Dungeon queues where you get to team up with faceless hordes of random players that you have no emotional attachment to, and never ever talk to!
Fed up of the tight-knit Guilds of the past, where you got to know most of the members on a personal level?
FINE! Have a dose of gigantic 700+ member Guilds where you get to share Kinship with faceless hordes of random players that you have no emotional attachment to, and never ever talk to!
The last one is the most annoying of all. Blizzard try to add features that will "help" the players (instant queues, Guild Exp) and all it does is further corrupt any sense of connection with the
Massive Multiplayer
side of the game. I'm not talking about the 4 or 5 people you might talk to in your massive 900+ member Guild (the other 895 are all deathly quiet - did you notice that?) I mean there's little incentive to
get to know people
on your Server.
There's not even a Barrens Chat scene any more.

With no raiding guild:
BC: Let's pug kara! *blam*
LK: LETS PUG THE $%^& OUT OF EVERYTHING AND WHOOP ASS
Cata: Let's pug BoT! *blam*
Dailies:
BC: loved everything about it, especially the zones and Isle of Quel'Danas
LK: Sholazar was fun, and imma let you finish...
Cata: omg everything is so cool this is so awesome-zzzzzzzz
only thing I like is skywall, the underwater zone, and 10=25man.
EDIT: I also loved the attunement quests; kept the herpderps out of dungeonsandraidstheyshouldntbein5kdpsat85coughcoughcoughcough

"but look at what they did to the old world!" and use that as reasoning behind this being a full expansion.
The sheer quantity of content is more than enough for this being a full expansion. For those who want to make a new alt, or for those who just started playing, that's more than okay.
Hell, I level two alts right now so that i can see everything updated in cataclysm.

When Cataclysm launched I releveled a Worgen Warlock from 1-85 and loved it.
I was pleased with the remade old world and thought Cataclysm looked like it was going to be a great expansion.
...6 months on however I'm the closest I've been to quitting since I started playing during Vanilla beta.
It's not that Cataclysm is bad as such. There's just NOTHING to do.
My guild raids three nights a week and is clearing 6/7 in 10m Normal Firelands every week. We're not quite pro enough to do Heroic Modes.
Other than raiding I find I have no reason to log in game any more. Although even raiding isn't keeping my attention.
The Firelands dailies didn't last very long and quite frankly I stopped doing after the first vendor was unlocked. Complete yawnfest.
4.2 had nowhere near enough content for lvl85s with only 7 bosses in the main raid which means I'm struggling to see how I can keep raiding Firelands for another two weeks, yet alone until whenever 4.3 hits.
Simply put from my point of view, Cataclysm is the weakest expansion so far which seemed to have been designed more for new players to the game rather than current players.
In my opinion, with Star Wars so close to release and no real sign of the next expansion, WoW is in it's most vulnerable state since it's launch. It's not going to die, but I can imagine it's losing a fair chunk of it's veteran players if there is no sign of improvement before Star Wars.

It's OK. Am I satisfied? No.
Burning Crusade was the peak of this game's existence, and things will never go back to the way that they were. Back then, even low pop servers had a community and got together to play the game.
I'll always miss the game the way that it was with BC. There was always someone to harass or gank and take the piss out of. There was so much more social interaction and many laughs were had between quite a few players.
This^^ I miss the community we had in TBC. Nowadays it's just a bunch of people trolling trade chat while they wait for their Dungeon queue to pop.
In all fairness though, it's not just WoW's community that's degraded, it's happening in pretty much every MMO.

The reason this game community is worse is because younger and younger kids are playing it. There are literally 6 year olds. And there are a lot of them not even past puberty. Think about it, there are little kids rolling on your items and taking them not knowing how lucky they are to win it.
While i definitely
agree
that they
shouldn't
be playing the game, it will not be an issue unless they are rolling on anything that shines and takes it to sell it or something, in which case it's a problem. Right now, I think, the people who roll on items just to sell them on purpose and join dungeons just to troll and bother their group, aswell as people who are completely unwilling to co-operate, are the
real
problem.

1. I love the revamp of the 1-60 quests - it's really fluent, and each zone TELLS THE STORY which is awesome. Old content was more random. I love the archaeology and flying in old world.
2. I hate the 81-85 quest - levelling flow. It's easy to gain a level from professions or dailies and be shut from random dungeons (now they have lower and upper level limit and you need to discover the entrance). The quests and new areas design is very good though.
