This achievement requires you to spend your ore on repairing springboards, air defence systems and setting up a smoke screen instead of turning them in to finish the world quest. The contraptions stay repaired for 2 hours and cannot be donated to during that time period. There are NPCs called Reclamation Machinist in the area which are the NPCs you donate the ores to. It is possible to donate a maximum of 20 ore per NPC until the contraption gets repaired. They will have a bar over their head which displays how many ores they have received. The bar disappears when they are no longer accepting ore.

It seems like the contraptions can bug out sometimes and disappear.

The NPC that is on the roof of the building can be reached by clicking on the Wooden Plank slightly to the east and placing it down in order to create a ramp up to the scaffoling.

Tip: You get an extra action button during the World Quest which works like the Evoker abilities where you need to hold it down for improved effects. For the best result, wait until the third step until you release the button. It helps you regain stability.

It took me an hour to finish the achievement by logging in to different characters that I had at level 70 on different cross realm zone groups to see if there were available contraptions to donate to. You can do this achievement on 1 character, or spread out on different characters, since the progress is tracked account wide, much like other achievements now in The War Within. You can finish the other achievement after you are done with this one.

If you struggle with stability.
The extra action button needs to be held, and it doesn't seem to work with the mouse, so use your keyboard hotkey for the extra button.

Dragonriding flight form on a druid allows you to fly with ores, so just fly around in flight form and turn them in.

I've completed this today - the hand in which requires the wooden plank to access is generally not being used, did most of my hand ins on that one across multipler servers. Some servers are "VERY" busy - others are empty ... hopping is definitely worth the effort.

Completely undoable until Blizzard allows players to contribute even if a contraption is completed.

Mobs everywhere, very hard to find an empty server, can't use mount, sometimes the contraptions are invisible... what a nightmare.

The World Quest having only been available twice in 6 weeks is also not an advantage.

If you're lucky enough to find an empty shard / server, doing this on a druid in flight form makes this infinitely easier to complete. You do not lose any stability or ore when using flight form.

Hello team! I just completed this achievement. I just want to add something that I've been seen asked a lot in this thread. The time for the NPCs to be able to be contributed to is quite low. On my mains server they would not even give me the option to turn in anything, but on my alts server, they were all up. I turned them in and roughly 5 or so minutes later, they were functional again. I honestly just think some servers with this quest are bugged, but if you find one with NPCs that work, it shouldn't take too long. :)

Done this achiev in 2 days with a friend. Used war mode on and server hopped between 3 big servers. Trying with war mode off was completely undoable.

Actually bugged and just poorly designed. Didn't realize until shard hopping that there are actual helpful contraptions that you should be able to target and see when they will break down again.

Use druid flying form to carry the ores around and/or use the group finder to hop on world boss groups, try with warmode on as there's generally less people achievementing!

The best way i found to do this is to collect 10 ores, stand by one of the Machinist's and realm hop by logging M+ Stonevault. Got it done in 35 mins this way.

It was not possible to do this achi, no matter if WM was ON or OFF, even when I was trying to server hop by joining other groups.

The contraptions you build last for exactly 2 hours. You can mouse over each contraption and it should have a buff with a timer for when it will expire.

Here's a crazy idea, Blizzard: instead of having the contraptions working for 2 Hours, why not make it a more reasonable 5-10 Minutes?

I can't help but imagine that if this makes it into the TWW big meta achievement, they will make it so that you can always contribute, even if the feature is already built.

That would have been the easiest thing to do.

This is probably not as hard as it used to be. I got on my lvl 70 druid and did the flight form thing and just looked in group finder for people doing that specific wq. There is a cave with no enemies thats easy to refill on. The station on top of the building was almost always ready for a fill. I think it took less than an hour.

This achievement is slightly more doable this week - 8-10 Dec 24 - now that Aggregation of Horrors is also live
Collect 10 ores, position yourself around 64.00 x 63.80 so you are able to see all 3 Reclamation Machinists, join Aggregation of Horrors groups until you find a shard where you're able to deposit the ore, leave the group, collect ore and repeat

Just to pass on a couple of tips for how I managed this today. Set the main area by the awakened machine as your HS. Park an alt in the WQ area and just go about your day on your main. Periodically relog to your alt and the minute you see an empty npc, alt F4 and get over there. You'd be surprised how often you'll find at least 1 npc with 10 or more resources available to be donated to. I managed to deposit all 100 ore over the course of today's play, so I'd imagine it will be even easier over this coming Monday and Tuesday.

This is a great time to do it (well, until Tues reset) because the world boss is up in Ringing Deeps as well. Build up 10 ore on a druid (don't fall in flight form, only use skyward ascent), then server hop to a raid group doing the world boss until you find a shard with an available machine. Got my 100 very very quickly this morning doing that!

Did this achievement today, 12/11/24. You can queue into groups under Premade Groups> questing> Special Assignment Shadow Below quest to shard hop. Its the weekly quest in the Ringing Deeps. Only had to shard hop twice to go from 0 to 100. There is 4 ppl you can turn into, each one you can turn in 20 ore to. Giving you 80 per shard if all are up. The 4 people are called "Reclamation Machinist". If you are on a shard where they are complete, you can click the completed battlement and it will tell you how much time is left on it (out of the 2 hours). Might be worth staying if one is almost done.

You can not mount with ore in your bucket, you will drop it and have to pick it back up. You have an exhaust bar, if it gets low you need to hold your interact button or Q to restore your balance. You want it to land on the yellow in the middle of the bar. If you don't restore your balance you will lose all your ore and have to pick it all back up.

Now quiet doable - Blizzard must have fixed this recently. The Reclamation Machinist are now much faster to accept donations and the achievement can now be done in half an hour or less.

this one honestly baffles me, because after all this time such achievements still make it into the game and not get fixed asap... i love hard achievements, but this one is not hard, it's just painful -- we deserve better </3

it's annoying enough that the world quest itself is a thing i need to remember to check for, now i need to set a timer for every 2 hours on a working day to try do the thing (emphasis on try)? ;_;

decided to give up on it for now, hoping for any kind of a fix

upd: i am but a weak-willed girl... had to pee yesterday at 4:30am server time (friday to saturday, eu), and managed to do 45/100, then the rest at around 9:30; i truly hate myself for being an achievements slave. anyways still stand by everything else i said -- this one is hard enough even without 2h cooldown, with the need to wait for the wq to show up, with all the mobs, with the need to be careful with the rocks

It seems this was changed with a recent patch - you can now donate to "contraption surplus", even if a contraption is already built. I was able to do this now in 15 minutes in 1 go.

March 24th 2025 this ridiculous WQ is finally UP FOR EU, and made more humanely possible for the achievement too. You can now hand-in ores to a couple of NPCs around the area repeatably.

You simply know this one will be one of those achievements that will pop up in an expansion-wide meta, and you will wait for the relevant WQ to show up for weeks or even months (hello BFA meta).
So my hints for completing are as follow:

* Esp. if there are loads of people around the main concourse, head into the Mine at 63, 62, a number of large (worth 3x) and small (1x) ores can be found there.
* As you're running out, stabilise yourself pretty much on cooldown
* Do not mount
* Worth to cc mobs instead of engaging
* by far the closest NPC to hand in ores is at 62.7, 64.3 next to the Improvised Springboard

Since the introduction of Undermine, coordinates in Ringing Deeps have shifted, none of the ones I found in earlier posts were correct.

What I found:

ore bucket 60 63
Found a machinist on 62 64 but there are more.

Warning: when I left the area machinists were reset but I lost my bucked and couldn't get a new one ! Had to finish on an alt.

Seems they made this a LOT easier to achieve as the NPC beside the bridge has no cap on the amount of turn ins you can do. Just got it easy turning in on him for from 10 to 100.

There's one contraption on the roof near the bridge which is not activated most of the time and can be easily reached by an engineer with Gnomish Gravity Well (you need to do this twice and other launch toys have long cooldowns) and a glider, since you cannot fly there by mount.

I found 4 Reclamation Machinists to turn in to. They accept a total of 20 ore each before they go on a 30 minute cooldown.

Pick up an Ore Bucket from behind the Reclamation Coordinator at /way 69.53 63.79
Collect Taelloch Ore from around the area. (Screenshot here.)
When you have 10 ores, find a Reclamation Machinist. An easy one to locate is at /way 62.75 64.23.
He needs 20 to repair the Improvised Springboard, but you can turn in more in groups of five.
This can be done solo. Other players, even not in a group with you, can contribute toward the springboard's repair.

Druid tank flight form
Open a raid with friend/alt
Gather ores in flight form (stability effect ignored)
Deliver 5–10 ores to 60.1, 64.88
Rarely ores disappear → switch to bear form, then back to flight

Took slightly more than 10 minutes. Good luck.

This achievement seems much more doable now. The 4th Reclamation Machinist accepts ore for 'surplus' - seems to be no limit to how much you can submit to them, but it does appear the 3 machines need to be fully built 1st/before you can donate to surplus. Turning in my final sets of ore to surplus earned me the achievement.

Note that you have to donate exactly 5 ore each time and you can carry a maximum of 10. I suggest always carrying 10 to minimize travel time to the NPCs. If you use the extra action button on cooldown you can ignore the mobs, providing that you are tanky enough. When using it, always hit the second to last empowerment level (the thinnest one) to gain Perfect Balance. This is a stability over time buff that will allow you to just keep running and getting hit.

My last tip is that the guy on the roof that cant be reached by normal means is usually not getting donations, but he has to be completed in order to unlock the surplus donation. If this is the case, go to the pile of wooden planks inbetween the tracks and the scaffolding where there is a ladder. You can click on one of the planks (it's not highlighted by default) and then click again on a yellow highlighted ramp to build said ramp. After that you can go up to the NPC, but make sure you have 10 ore before you do so. This ramp will have to be rebuilt every time you get there as it only lasts for a very short time or maybe it's based on distance from it.
