As a 588 Elemental Shaman ->

I just tried couple times to see cast order. As i understand you have to interrupt all casts and burst the spider cacoon.

Also i used flask - leech enchants to make it easier. That was not a "challange" for me. I was in under-recommended gear and i just did it anyway.

At start ; Blood Lust > Storm Elemental > SK > PW > Burst.
-> Keep spamming Lightning Bolt to reduce interrupt CD.
-> Keep your PW & SK only for cacoon after start. (Cocoon has a high HP and you have to melt down it.)
-> Repeat till %50 HP

At %50 HP ; Earth Elemental > Burst
-> You can use your Earth Elemental to take a break. You can spam Lightning Bolt to reduce PW / Interrupt cds.
-> If you understand what's going on first 1 minute, you can chill now.

At %10 HP : Dodge everything > Burst
-> It's ok. Just burst him and take care for interrupts.

Note : People are playing "Farseer" build but i choose "Stormbringer" . It's really useful to destroy cacoons with side buffs.
Note2 : You can easily tank the Zekvir. We have a lot of defensive abilities to tank it.

Edit 2: As of the hotfixes on Sept 26th, Zekvir's lair has had significant nerfs. I have updated the info below for accuracy.

Thought I'd write a bit of a guide/info thread for those who are looking to attempt this.

Zekvir is a pseudo end-boss for season 1 of the new Delves feature introduced in The War Within. He is located in the 'hidden' 13th Delve called Zekvir's Lair, which is found in the western-most section of the City of Threads in Azj'Kahet.

There are two modes for Zekvir. A normal mode, called Tier ? and a hard mode, called Tier ?-?. To unlock Tier ? and access to the delve, you need to beat any delve on tier 8 with lives remaining. To unlock Tier ?-? you need to beat any delve on tier 10 with lives remaining. The My First Nemesis achievement is awarded for beating Zekvir on Tier ? difficulty, either on your own or in a group.

The delve itself has no trash or other enemies whatsoever. You walk in, there's a room to prepare Brann, then you unlock a door and Zekvir is right in front of you in the next room.

On Tier ? difficulty, Zekvir has around 81M health (when solo) and has 5 abilities.
- Angler's Web is a narrow frontal cone aimed at his current target that grips you in and deals damage (can be dodged)
- Claw Smash is a wide frontal cone aimed a you or Brann that deals massive damage (can be dodged)
- Horrendous Roar is 15 yard AoE around the boss that deals damage and fears you for 4 seconds if you are in the circle when the cast finishes (move out)
- Enfeebling Spittle is an interruptable cast that puts a 20 second DoT and slow on you that trucks your health. Note - this is a magic effect and a snare, so can be magic-dispelled or can be removed by abilities that remove snares (eg: Warlock Teleport).
- Call Web Terror summons a cocoon with 4.3M health (when solo) that will hatch into a spider if not killed in 20 seconds. The spider will repeatedly cast a 5 second stun on you, which is interruptable/cc-able. The spider spawns with the same percentage the cacoon had, but has more health overall.

The fight is overall relatively simple in concept for Tier ?. Dodge the two frontal cones. Move out of the fear circle. Switch to and kill the cocoon when it appears so spiders don't spawn. Interrupt the Spittle cast, or if unable, dispell/remove it if you can, or pop defensives/healing CDs to get through the DoT. That's it! There's some terrible overlaps of abilities at some point, so some of it is just about positioning and maybe a little RNG.

Something to note I don't see posted elsewhere: the spider add, after hatching, is fully vulnerable to CC, tested and confirmed as full CC with Hibernate. I suspect they would also be vulnerable to Fear, Polymorph, Traps, etc.

Solo'ed as a 594 Spellslinger Frost mage on 14/09/2024.

Mandatory talent's:
- Energized Barriers: This is how you'll cleanse his DoT as it's considered a slow effect, so only apply barrier to counter this if you can't or miss an interrupt. His melee attacks do not hurt with Brann in healer spec. It's probably preferable to just deal with the DoT this way and bank an emergency interrupt for the adds if you need it.
- Cryopathy: This will help with bursting down adds throughout the fight with Ray of Frost and generate 2 finger's of frost charges specifically for the add.
- Alter time and Master of Time: You must always have a Shimmer available, and the speed boost will help you out if caught in a fear circle.
- Glacial Spike: Use on the add into Winter's chill.

Brann in heal spec with the Time lost relic and the Taunt when low hp. Pick up a Brann Interrupt weakaura and track his interrupt cooldown, he'll use it on cooldown when an opportunity to interrupt occurs, so let him use his first. - wago.io/Wrk3YPb8E , i used this one.

Time warp on pull and funnel damage into him, make sure he stands in Frost orb and its proc's all the time if you can, this'll generate splinterstorms and help damage him down overtime. Use a damage pot when first egg appears and nuke it down.

2nd egg use Icy veins and burst it down with Ray of Frost, use Shifting power on cooldown from now on and make sure Zekvir get's hit with the ticks for splinterstorms, you can shimmer and still cast it if caught in a bad spot.

3rd egg, Use Mirror image and hope for procs, if not interrupt add and kill it quick.

4th, icy veins should be back up or close to, use it on the egg.

By this point Zekvir should be low around the 15-10m region, at this point i'd burst him down with mirror image and the rest of icy veins duration.

if you get a 5th add, just sheep it and kill Zekvir before another add shows up.

Don't panic if Brann goes unconscious and don't try to revive him, use coldsnap if you have to for double barrier.

It's worth making a macro for an instant target swap from when the egg appears, and a macro for /tar Zekvir /Counterspell if you can afford to use it. Have him as a focus target so you can see what he's casting while your attention is on the egg/add.

Was and to solo him on tier ? as a fury warrior. Ilvl600 only 2 bis item (belt from normal raid and the sacbrood trinket). Brann was lvl 28 set to healer with the idol level 4 and amorphous level 4 abilities.

It's 100% a mechanics fight with some rng. Dodge cones, and fear, interrupt the poison as much as you can, (I think Brann interrupted a couple times I couldn't hit it). Save a big cd for the add either bladestorm or recklessness/avatar. 4 out of 6 adds that spawned I killed before they hatched, the 1 that did spawn was pretty low health (they will heal a bit if the egg was almost dead and they manage to hatch) I used shockwave to stun and was able to kill it quickly. The last spawn the boss was at 3% and I just focused the boss down.

The rng aspect is where the add will spawn (He dropped one
Inside the entrance doorway once and I was stuck in the small hole) the other is if he'll target Brann or you with the cone. It's pretty nice when Brann pulls it away from you.

Brann will keep you alive most of the time, I only has to use an algari potion once. I had flask, and mana oils, Earthen so permanent haste food. No drums but they would have made it easier. Good luck!

17/09/2024, solo'd as a 599 ilvl Devastation Evoker (Scalecommander Hero tree), with Brann as a lvl 36 healer with Idol of Final Will and Amorphous Relic curios equipped. Saved defensives for when a boss cast would go off due to interrupt being on cd and Brann's cleanse not being up. Saved Deep Breaths for the eggs to nuke them down asap, otherwise Fury of the Aspects+cds to full blast on pull. Used Hover charges only to get out of fear circles, just walked out of the frontals normally. I had health pots on me but didn't end up using one, no other consumables used either.

Solo'd on a 598 demo lock, 9/19/2024

A bit brutal, honestly, but mostly because of my own misplays. Having a 30 second kick meant I was relying on Brann to interrupt every second cast, and sometimes he just didn't really feel like it. The DoT hurts pretty bad, and demo isn't great at swapping targets, so the eggs didn't die particularly quickly. I wiped once or twice to just standing too far from the boss and getting hit by the cone while slowed. Whoops!

Otherwise, not too bad of a fight. The mechanics are simple, and if you just take it slow (and ideally have a shorter kick cooldown than mine), it's very doable.

Solo'd as an ilvl 599 Beast Master Hunter.

Brann: My Brann was lvl 25, he was set to Healer, and his abilities were Idol of Final Will(rank 3) and Time Lost Relic(rank 2).

Gear & Consumables: I did not hunt any specific gear. I did not have my 2 or 4 set bonus. I did not use any consumables.

Positioning: Try to stay right behind Zekvir as much as you can, around 5-10 feet behind him. Being close makes dodging the frontal cones a lot eaiser and you can get Brann's Idol of Final Will to land more often. Be ready to run out of the fear.

Interupting: Your interupt will not be available to stop Zekvir every time he casts his DoT. Luckily as others here have mentioned, it's a magic debuff that also counts as a movement impairing effect. This means Disengage can remove the debuff, if you spec into the talent Posthaste. With two options to stop/remove the DoT you can switch back and forth from interupting one cast and removing the debuff with Disengage on the next. Do not use Counter Shot to interupt the add, if it hatches! The adds are able to be hard cc'd meaning you can use stuff like Freezing Trap, Bursting Shot, or Implosive Trap to interupt an add that is casting. Do not waste Counter Shot when you have so many other options.

Pet : Your pet will die a lot, I was using Mend Pet on cooldown, but the boss gives a lot of chances to revive them. Wait for a frontal cone ability, move out, revive pet.

Killing The Add: I Saved Beastial Wrath, Explosive Shot, Dire Beast, and Black Arrow for the add. They should be up for every add spawn. I also used Call of the Wild, if it was available. After a few runs, you will begin to understand when the add will spawn. I got in the habit of popping Beastial Wrath, Dire Beast, and Call of the Wild slightly early. By doing this I could start DPSing the add as soon as it spawned, and not need to waste a couple GCDs after the add spawned.

Damaging Zekvir: As weird as it may sound, actually dealing damage to Zekvir is the lowest priority of the whole fight. I would only do heavy damage to Zekvir after killing the add, while I still had some buff uptime from popping cooldowns to kill the add. Otherwise, I was doing a very basic rotation so I could focus on dodging abilities and keeping my pet alive, or reviving it. So long as you can stay focused and alive, Zekvir will die over time.

Some hotfix nerfs have made this easier now. The group scaling is too much, so it's better to run this solo. I treated it less of a sprint on the boss and more of a marathon to whittle him down. It's more about making sure the eggs never hatch, so save your bursts for that.

Important abilities are: Fade (removes the debuff on a short CD), Void Torrent, Will of the Forsaken (if you get caught in a fear)

1) Pull boss with Shadow Word: Pain and hug his feet so you can dodge all frontal cones. Let Brann pull aggro. Use mindflay and keep up Dot spam. Build up your insanity but don't burst him.

2) Use Fade anytime Enfeebling Spit lands on you successfully. Brann dispelled it off me a lot, but save it for this. If you get caught in the fear circle, use Will of the Forsaken (if undead).

3) Wait for egg to come out, all while hugging the boss. Once the egg comes out, use Void Torrent on it, Void Eruption, Shadow Word: Death spam. If the spider comes out, quickly interrupt it, then kill it.

4) Go back to slowly DPSing boss down and running circles around him. Try not to tank him near the walls, because he can trap you there with a fear circle followed by cleaves. Sometimes he'll swivel away from Brann and target you, so better to be safe than sorry.

That's it, that's the fight. Slow and steady, the eggs are the main focus, but you have to be careful not to get side-swiped by the two cones.

Can confirm after the recent hotfix today (9/27) that the difficulty for solo for the '?' difficulty feels appropriate now. After the "hoftix" before this last one that nerfed Brann, this was essentially impossible solo. Now, however, with a 590 ret pally and lv 20 Brann, and doing fight mechanics, this fight felt appropriately difficult - and doable - for my ilvl. Happy delving once again, everyone!

As i heard multiple time it was nerfed, I dit it with an alt. Frost DK, 568, no BiS whatsoever. But a 39 Brann as healer.
Died a few times, learning the mechanics. It's better to mess up your burst rota and take cover, rather than dying :)

Guardian Druid, ilevel 612.
Brann, level 39 as healer with Idol of Final Will and Relic of Sentience.
This was easily one of the most stressful and chaotic fights I've done in a long time, and it took a few tries, a lot of cursing and luck, and some crying.
Mainly, I just did my best to try and stay alive while getting those stupid eggs down as quick as possible, saving what few dps cooldowns I have (Rage of the Sleeper, an ilevel 610 Mad Queen's Mandate) to use when possible. Other than that, dodging the web and fear and frontal cone, stunning the spittle (or shapeshifting out of it), and doing what damage I could to Zek in the meantime.
Friends, if I could pull this off, just about anyone can. This very much is a mechanics fight about avoiding stuff and managing the adds as quickly as possible... I tried it as feral and got wrecked several times because of the damage involved and Brann's idiosyncratic choice of where to drop his heals. (Really, in the cone effect? In the far corner? Dude.)
I'm happy -- this was all I needed to complete the Glory of the Delver -- but man, it was nervewracking.

Somehow I did this on my first try (just the Normal ? version) as a Resto Druid.
I was very nervous about even trying because of all the horror stories I heard/read. However, it wasn't too bad.

I'm 618 and used Brann as a DPS with Porcelain Arrowhead and Amorphous Relic.

I just used Moonfire/Starfire for the DoTs while moving out of his fear and frontals. It was easy to quickly dispel the Spittle since Nature's Cure was off CD by the time I needed it.
When the egg spawned, I hit it with the DoT's then used Convoke and it went down pretty fast.

Of course, I'm doing this after nerfs, but I'm still shocked I got it first try. I don't even use a DPS spec so I wanted to at least try on my main Healing spec and it worked out great.

I could not do it as Protection Pally, had to run it as retribution. I have a 606 Mad Queen's Mandate which I saved for the cocoons. I used Divine Shield and/or Blessing of Protection if he casts his 2 frontals on top of the cocoons while I am killing it when the trinket is on CD.

I main healers so FOR YOUR SANITY DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR ENCHANTS. It made a difference in mine. After the 4th wipe I sucked the cost of the retribution enchants for the legs, boots and weapon, and that made all the difference. The int/mana enchant does not help you in this fight.

I can confirm as of 10/9/2025 I was able to complete the Glory of the Delver achievement even though I never got "My First Nemesis". I completed all the other achievements and it awarded me the Glory achievement. Thankful to be able to get the meta achievement done!
