Easiest way to get this one is to join a storm farm group for one storm, get your 200, leave and head to the next storm, rinse and repeat until you have all 4 storms of the 2 hour time limit. Then do it again when you get the achievement. Should only take four rotations (or 1-2 days depending on sleep schedule) to finish the achievement. Also be sure to kill all rares you see for the achievement Stormed Off

This is a pretty frustrating achievement. Essentially you have to do the micro achievements in each zone, which are to kill 200 elemental infused mobs for each elemental invasion. My two "geared" alts are much higher Il than this armor is useful for, but the transmog is awesome. I definitely do not mind farming them, and I have already unlocked two full sets, the pets, mount, some weapons, etc.

Only today I have learned that the meta achievements don't stack. I was going to do mail armor in one zone, cloth another, leather another, and plate the last and then farm one of the "easier" areas to buy whatever pieces I still needed. It took me about 4,5 hours of farming to do all the achievement for each element in one zone.

It was incredibly frustrating to learn that the achievement must be fully completed on one character despite consisting of smaller micro achievements. What's worse is there is no reward itself for the achievement, and like, it would be so much more player friendly if the achievement did not even exist because there are already tangible reasons to farm the assaults: armor/weapon upgrades, pets, mount, transmog, etc.. To add the most arbitrary "join a raid and tag as much as you can for 12 hours split over 16 different times" on top of farming for the stuff we actually want WITHOUT letting you use 4 different characters to farm the transmogs is beyond dumb.

It just feels like a massive waste of time for no reason. I know I do not have to do the achievements, and I am not going to now, and it's not that I want "more rewards", but rather, the psychological pleasure of knowing that the people who design content understand the overlaps that are present and use this information to implement said content.

'Storm Chaser' title would be a nice reward as this achievement is quite a farm, requiring you to kill 3200 mobs during specific events in specific zones.

Bit of a shame Blizzard wasn't more clear in their approach to zone Storms in 10.0.7: in .5 I didn't have a lot of time to farm this nor was I particularly interested given there wasn't much to get from Overflow, no tokens and/or upgrade items. Now, only one Storm spawns at a time. I'm not really sure why this was changed, but this just turns it into a 1/16 gamble whether the right zone and element combination is up... besides the fact that it has to be done on one character and just killing 200 mobs is incredibly boring: you're essentially looking for a raid group or to find non-elites to zerg relatively fast. If you start it now you need at least 48 hours (16 cycles), but it's more likely closer to a week, as zone/storm combinations are random and repeats will occur.

Do you have to do it? No, but once you start you're automatically pulled towards finishing a side achievement whenever a combination is up you still need. I highly recommend combining this with the Cobalt Assembly, Liberated Furbolg Artifacts and/or Magmote farms whenever a Storm is up in the affected areas.

I have some experience in farming this now, so some pointers per subzone that I've farmed in, most convenient from top to bottom (will update as I go):

Waking Shores

Obsidian Citadel: not easy to farm, but not terrible due to player traffic and allows double dipping Magmote and obsidian keys!
Slagmire: quite a few non-elite elementals to kill and quite easy to find a group for, but not as convenient to navigate.
Scalecracker Keep: pretty annoying, not a lot of affected mobs. The indoor hut with Gragza the Dragon-Breaker works quite well though.

Ohn'ahran Plains

Nokhudon Hold: packed with elites, not terribly easy to solo but quite easy to zerg in a raid. Regardless, it's the sole zone in the Plains.

Azure Span

Cobalt Assembly: amazing! The buffs help speed this up and you can farm the Cobalt Assembly simultaneously.
Imbu: not as efficient as the Assembly, but quite packed and you get Liberated Furbolg Artifacts if you haven't finished that yet.
Brackenhide: ugh. The beach area is probably the best to zerg, but it's a drag. You can get Rousing Decay, but meh.

Thal'draszus

Tyrhold: pretty relaxed, there are a lot of 'small mobs + one elite' packs on the lower levels. Regardless, it's the sole zone in Thal'draszus.

So not only do you have to check every three hours which is active - so, effectively I get 3-4 tries a day if I'm lucky - but you have to actually log into the game because for some reason wowhead is no longer reliable in telling you which storm is active. Well, for EU at least, they seem to update the NA one all the time

I'm only missing two Snowstorms at this point and I haven't seen one pop up in a while. Either the rotation is effed up or I'm just incredibly unlucky

The fact that this of all things has no rotation is, quite frankly, baffling. Things that don't need rotations have rotations, but things like this that could greatly benefit from one, don't? Make it make sense.

Sidenote but it being only ONE up every three hours is ridiculous. One should be up in every zone and rotate. Perfect opportunity to make one of each element to be up at a time.

The more I'm looking at this achievement, the more I'm thinking that this is actually just crazy. The worst possible one from the bunch. It beats dirt farming for treasure maps. It beats scroll farming in the Forbidden Reach. Here's the breakdown:

There are 4 different zones that can spawn storms in the Dragon Isles. There are 4 different elements that a storm could take. If you were after, say, a sandstorm in Thaldraszus, you'd assume that this would be a 1/16 chance of seeing it every single time that a storm spawns. It would make sense, right? But that's just not the case.

Thaldraszus has one possible location a storm can spawn. The Ohn'ahran Plains has one possible location a storm can spawn. The Waking Shores has two possible spawn locations. And The Azure Span, dear reader, has three. What happens is that the game decides every three hours to spawn an elemental storm in a zone, but it does not choose between the zones itself. It chooses between the spawn locations of every zone. So, instead of each zone having a 25% chance of getting an elemental storm each cycle, there is a 14% chance for a storm to spawn in Thaldraszus, a 14% chance for a storm to spawn in Ohn'ahran Plains, a 28% chance for a storm to spawn in the Waking Shores, and a 42% chance for a storm to spawn in the Azure Span. That is why it seems every storm shows up in The Azure Span. It's completely skewed in favor towards it.

If you were after a sandstorm in Thaldraszus, like I said before, you would first have to get lucky enough to have Thaldraszus chosen as the elemental storm zone (1/7 chance), then you'd have to also have it be the element that you need (1/4). Together, this is a 3% chance. A 3% chance every time that a storm appears. Keep in mind that storms show up once every three hours and that the average person isn't going to see more than two or three of these per day. I know that this is part of the no-life meta achievement, but this is completely ridiculous even for no-life standards.

The achievement used to be much easier to do: two storms used to be up at a time until Blizzard reduced this to only one in 10.0.7, and the Temporal Conflux location in Thaldraszus used to be a spawn location before it was removed to add in the Primalist Future world event. Expect Blizzard to do something to alleviate either the rotation or frequency for this like they did with the "Things To Do When You're Dead" achievement for the Shadowlands meta.

In addition to all other annoyances about the storms - the @#$%ing mobs are so goddamn annoying beyond measure. Did you want to cast something? STUN! Do you want to move? Well, how about you stay immobile for a few seconds while we cast our 3 stuns? You'd like to do literally anything? I'm sorry I can't hear you over the sound of *CHAINSTUNNING*!

So I did the last 50 kills of the ohn'ara plains storm ach but at cobalt assembly.

I stood at 84.18 79.60 in ohn'ara plains, which is a technicality as you are actually in cobalt assembly. I tagged mobs with my pet and stood there.
Mobs were either pulled back to me by me moving pet or others killed it , them doing their worldquest.
So this way i managed to turn a Azure plains storm into a Ohn'ara storm. I had to be out on that little cliff though when they died (or if you jump off the balcony so you switch to ohn'ara.

Rename this achievement ˝Azure Span chaser˝. When u open up DF map to see where storm is always click Azure Span first and check, 90% of the storms are there, than if its not pray its one of other total random zones and is the type that you need.

8 Storms a day, 16 combinations needed for the achievement, so it makes sense that we can get this over a few days of evenly spread RNG, right?

It seems that spawns will randomly pick from all available locations, rather than by zone then by location, so Span and Shores get almost all of the storm spawns. I'm really hoping that Blizz get their act together with this one. Grinding and waiting for dailies/weeklies is one thing, but a totally random and unpredictable series of events that you're going to miss most of anyway if you have a job or any social life just makes this unachievable in the current state.

This achievement is actually laughable. 3 Storms 11AM, 2PM and 5PM in OCE on Frostmourne. All in the waking shore and all SANDSTORM. Great RNG blizzard.

It was nice having a few rounds of 2 storms at a time today, but it looks like it's already back down to 1 storm at a time.

EDIT: It appears a 2nd storm did spawn, but the icon wasn't showing on the map. Since the storm is question is at the Temporal Conflux, which hasn't been a possible spawn location since the number of active storms was nerfed, I'm guessing there are still a few bugs with it correctly displaying the storm on the map. Logging out then back in seems to have fixed it and the map now correctly shows the storm.

From what I've seen recently, there's only been one Storm active at a time. Should be two unless there's a bug or that changed when I wasn't looking.

This is a guide for 10.2.6 and 10.2.7 because of two factors:

1. Because of the A World Awoken achievement that you'll find plenty of traffic in the area and I suspect it will drop off pretty quickly with War Within's release onwards.

2. 11.0.1 Pre-Patch onwards will deliver fully account-wide achievements, which means you can sync it across alts.

This strategy is predicated on having traffic, mobs that aren't being outright one-shot by other players and working with the limitations of non-account-wide achievements.

1. You want to get a namplate addon like Plater to very clearly see the Elementally Imbued on mobs. You'll notice some neutral mobs will have this buff too. Annoyingly some of the elementals that spawn only during a Primal Storm do not count and can significantly 'gunk' up a zone (Primal Storm in the Obsidian Citadel area come to mind).

2. You want to be a part of a 5 man group but not a raid group. With a raid group you'll have to tag manually everything. With a 5 man you share tags.

3. As a party spread out throughout the Primal Storm area and secure as many 'tags' as possible. In high traffic areas you don't have to worry about solo killing every mob, you can have other people not in your group do it for you. If you are clumped up, you reduce your tags and hence kills for this achievement, making the grind take longer.

4. You can 'Tag and Dash'. If you tag a mob, but get 100+ yards out without force dropping combat via Feign Death, Invisibility or Shadowmeld, you still keep the tag.

5. Optional: Because of some of this achievement's account-wide features (but not all until War Within) (different alts can contribute to part of this meta, but can't share credit on the individual kill achievement), I'd recommend using an alt to do some of these grinds. Someone that can easily tag from ranged, maybe has survivability (like a tank) (ideally a Druid since they can fly out of combat). That alt can earn some beneficial items like the annoyingly soulbound Untapped Forbidden Knowledge which can be used to get Vault of the Incarnates Tier Set appearances. You can also level a low level alt (a 60+) and still grab the achievement, or if you are extremely daring a sub 60 that happened to get lost in the Dragon Isles.

Four weeks checking every 3 hours that I am awake and no Fire Storm in Thaldraszus. Does this particular storm show up somewhere other than Tyrhold? Literally the only thing needed for the World Awoken achievement.

Achievements like this are the kind of things that SHOULD be in a rotation. By making it so, people could know WHEN to log in to do what they needed, and not lose unnecessary sleeping time, as I did, for example, to finish ONE Meta.

I even saw Thaldraszus Fire Storm this week, and I needed it, but was so tired, and it did spawn in an awkward time (well past midnight) that I thought better to go sleep instead of collapsing.

They have the tools, the TEAMS (since they already have at least 3 teams working on the game, one for next expansion, and at least 2 on current, one for next patches and another on fixes), the knowledge, and they HAVE fixed rotation on things in the past (see other expansion's invasions).

If it were on my hands:

Keep 2 always active
Make fixed rotations between two zones: Waking Shores/Azure Span and Ohn'aran Plains/Thaldraszus

This way, always a Waking Shores/Azure Span active and always Ohn'aran Plains/Thaldraszus active.
