As someone has so kindly clarified, this strategy works for the first time only. For those of that you just want to get it done once to do it then this method will work. For more serious pet battlers, alessandrouw has you covered.

You can run this entire dungeon with Zandalari Anklrenders, Kneebiters or a mix of the two. Your two main abilities you'll be using are Hunting Party and Black Claw. The third is negligible but I chose Leap. Bloodfang is also a viable talent but a lot of mobs in there are still faster than these pets so I went with the Leap option to make faster. I don't recommend Primal Cry at all. It only reduces the enemy pet speed by 25%. Even though the 25% reduction lasts 4 rounds it has a 3 round cooldown. Leap increases your pet speed by 100% and can be spammed over and over. In the long run Leap will give you the edge you need.

General Strat

Zandalari Anklerender (2,1,2) or Zandalari Kneebiter (2,2,1) or both as they have the exact same talents. If you *can* go for the P/P breeds of each. They do the highest damage. Leap can make up for the slower speed but there's Flying family pets which are generally faster anyway. It isn't a big deal though. I've been running with S/S breeds which do the least damage and I haven't had any problems.

1. Black Claw
2. Hunting Party
3. Leap when Hunting Party is on CD and Black Claw is still up
4. Reapply Black Claw as needed and repeat until your pet is dead
5. Bring out the next pet and start with Hunting Party. If you were applying Black Claw correctly it should still be up when your next pet comes out and you can immediately take advantage of it.
6. Repeat Black Claw/Leap
7. Bring out your final pet if enemy pets aren't dead and start with Hunting Party again

Son of Skum - use above general strat
Phyxia - modification - Phyxia uses Burrow on turn 2 so I would Black Claw, Leap (Don't pass. Your pet still gets the 100% speed boost even when Leap doesn't do damage.) I don't know if it's a guaranteed Burrow so keep can eye out. If your pet is faster go ahead and use Hunting Party after your Black Claw. Or if you're mid HP and a Burrow happens, don't worry. Just avoid wasting Hunting Party if you see the Burrow happen and you can Leap instead then use HP and resume strat.
Dreadcoil - general strat
Vilefang - general strat
Hiss - general strat
Growing Ectoplasms - general strat. Also, don't jump down. Just keep following the path around. Hit the Bileflies around, they give a speed boost. There's a wall of brambles that will go away after you defeat the second Ectopasm
Budding Everliving Spore - general strat. He's orange but don't panic. Follow the strat.

Tips:

You can heal between fights so bring some banadges and take advantage of your Revive ability. There doesn't appear to be a timer on this. Relax and take your time.
If you lose on a fight progress will not be reset. You just have to do redo that boss. I tried another set of pets on Skum the first time and lost so I just swapped pets and redid it.
Don't worry if Black Claw has fallen off during a Hunting Party run. It helps but you're mainly looking for the bonus damage coming from Shattered Defenses (100% damage.)
Don't worry about pets that take reduced damage from your Zandalari pets.These pets are designed to brute force through the dungeon.
Must keep Black Claw up at all times (especially if you're about to die, slap it on as your last turn.) If it falls off at any point reapply it as soon as you can (unless during Hunting Party.) Also an exception - if you're one of the back up pets and they're pretty low health don't worry about using Claw, just Leap until its dead.
Don't worry if your pets get low on health. They will be alright. Back up pets are white and can be steamrolled.
If you leave progress will be reset.
Do worry about how long until they nerf this strat like Howl Bomb was :(

Guide updated for patch 10.2.2. My guide relied a lot on Teroclaw Hatchling, but it was changed, so you cannot have Dodge and Nature's Ward at the same time, which made trash cleaning a breeze. Teroclaw Hatchling is still pretty decent for cleaning trash, my new strategy only included him as a backup. I have improved some strategies as well, so, read below.

TL;DR for pets you might want to bring and follow my strategy:

Waterfly (2,1,2)
Nordrassil Wisp (2,2,2) (S/S breed, but can possibly be used with any breed)
Unborn Val'kyr (1,2,1) or anything with Haunt
Ikky (2,1,1)
Darkmoon Zeppelin (1,1,2)
Landro's Lil' XT (1,2,2) or Personal World Destroyer (1,2,2)
Sunreaver Micro-Sentry (2,2,1)
Clockwork Gnome (1,1,1)
Darkmoon Tonk (1,1,2)
2x Scourged Whelpling (2,1,1)
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,2,2) (if you don't have a second Scourged Whelpling)
Yellow-Bellied Bullfrog (1,1,1) or any other frog with a similar skill set
Dream Whelpling (1,2,2) or Emerald Proto-Whelp are very a solid choice for a 3rd pet for this dungeon
Teroclaw Hatchling (2,2,2) is a nice backup to have, but not needed any longer
Some additional mechanical-type pets, such as Cogblade Raptor and Iron Starlette
Some additional dragon-type pets. Not needed, but you can be unlucky with crits

Hint: You can fast travel to this instance entrance by speaking with Manapoof. He's just inside the pet store in Dalaran.

This scenario have a lot of battles, some of them are easy but you cannot heal along the way, so be sure to have extra pets if you have bad luck with criticals.

The first 2 battles are easy. Bring a Waterfly (2,1,2). The other 2 pets should be disposable low level pets, because these trash will AoE and you don't really need another pet. The strategy is to use Dodge on cooldown, then use Alpha Strike to kill enemy pets. Use Healing Stream to heal up incoming damage whenever available. Do take advantage of your pet speed. If an enemy is with low HP, kill it instead of healing. You can always heal in the following round. Having Dream Whelpling as a backup pet is advisable after the second fight.

For the 3rd battle, bring Nordrassil Wisp. Use Flash, followed up by Light and Arcane Explosion when everything else is on CD. Enemy will be blinded often, so you can most likely kill them all this way. If not, your 2nd and 3rd pets can easily finish it. As always, I recommend having Dream Whelpling in the back row.

Next is Son of Skum. I have found that a working strategy is to use Haunt from Unborn Val'kyr (or any other available pet) followed by Ikky with Black Claw and Flock. This will make the boss melt. Ikky can pretty much kill everything else, but if not, bring your backup pets to finish the job.

Next you'll face Phyxia, bring a Darkmoon Zeppelin (1,1,2). Use Bombing Run and Decoy on cooldown. Spam Missile afterwards. You should be able to clear the entire fight with Darkmoon Zeppelin, but if there is any left, use any other secondary pet.

Next is Dreadcoil. I used Landro's Lil' XT (1,2,2), but Personal World Destroyer (1,2,2) is also an option. Bring another mechanical pet just in case, your first pet should clear almost everything. Use Heartbroken (or Supercharge), Zap (or Metal Fist) and then Tympanic Tantrum (or Quake). Afterwards spam Zap (or Metal Fist) until your first pet dies. Use the secondary mechanic to finish things off if the first one ever dies.

For Vilefang bring Sunreaver Micro-Sentry (2,2,1) and Clockwork Gnome (1,1,1). Start with Fel Immolate, Call Lightning then bring Clockwork Gnome, which will use Build Turret and then Repair. Vilefang should die, just spam Metal Fist until clockwork die and them finish off with your third pet.

Next is Hiss. Bring Darkmoon Tonk (1,1,2) and two other pets, can be a mechanical for backup. Start with Shock and Awe and spam Missile until either the tonk is about to die in the next attack or if the boss gets to 500 HP, then cast Ion Cannon. Finish off the smaller pets with your other pets, if needed.

Now you'll face 2x Growing Ectoplasm. For the first, bring Scourged Whelpling (2,1,1) and another dragon-type pet for backup. Spam Tail Sweep until the Ectoplasm is dead. After the Whelping dies, bring your backup dragon pet to finish off the other two trash pets. The 3rd dragon pet won't be used if the Whelping solos the Ectoplasm.

For the second Ectoplasm, the strategy is the same, but if you don't have another Scourged Whelpling, you can use Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,2,2). Use Decoy and them spam Breath. Can't emphasis this enough, but having Teroclaw Hatchling in your back row is a guaranteed safe strategy for these fights as well.

Finally, the last boss, Budding Everliving Spore. I did kill him with different strategies, but the one I found most reliable is to bring a Yellow-Bellied Bullfrog (1,1,1) (or any similar frog with the same skill set) and other two beast pets as backup. I say beasts because the boss will spam Dreadful Breath (which is weak against beasts). In case you need to use the other pets, their HP will be still good enough. You cannot spam Frog Kiss anymore, but that's fine. Just use it and use Water Jet and Healing Wave in between cooldowns, healing whenever needed. If you're lucky enough with Frog Kiss, your frog will solo the entire combat. But, in case it don't, use your backup pets to finish it off.

You have to turn in your quest to Muyani, but outside the dungeon. For some reason, you cannot turn-in while instanced. She's just outside.

Final considerations: After this became a repeateable quest, you receive a Damp Pet Supplies, which is absolute garbage for your troubles. I do not recommend repeating this ever, unless you really like it, for some reason.

I completed the "dungeon", finished the quest - but did not get the achievement. Is there anything else I need to do?

I found that Emperor Crab p/p can solo Budding Everliving spore quite easily, just keep the Shell Shield up at all times while spamming Surge and use Healing wave if you got 900 hp or less.

Provided the fight doesn't change between the first go and the repeatable version, the Hungering Claw makes the final fight trivial. He buffs aquatic damage to make it easier, so after using Foreboding Curse you can easily pummel him down, while he doesn't do all that much damage. Might recommend that your backline pets have heals, since they'll also be taking damage.

What does this really mean? The first time you get the quest, run the dungeon, kill the pets, nothing happens. You have to click on your portrait, select 'leave instance group', and you will re-apear next to Muyani to complete the initial quest. THEN you can pick up the daily and do it all again a 2nd time for the Pet Supplies. Just wanted to clarify for those who expected more to happen when they completed it the first time.

If you use the Rematch addon, here is the rematch code for all the teams with battle notes that I compiled from Xu-Fu's Pet Battle Strategies. Thank you very much!

If you don't use Rematch, you should, it makes running this (and other pet battles) so much easier. And Xu-Fu's is full of great strategies.

To use this code, select all the text below, hit Ctrl+C to copy, then create a new tab in your pet journal by clicking on the + sign to the right of the pet journal (Call it whatever you want but I call it "Wailing Caverns"), and then right click the tab and select the "Import Teams" option. You can then hit Ctrl+V to paste the code in there.

From then on, whenever you select one of the battle pets in the instance a little Rematch window will come-up asking if you want to load the team for that fight, load it and also be sure to click on the little note button so you can see the notes on what to do for each turn. If you start the fight and forgot to open the notes, don't worry, you can open them again by opening your pet journal and clicking on the note icon.

Anyone can help pls, i did the 1st Quest where u can heal pets but i dont get the weekly quest. not in dalaran and not at the caverns, char is 110.

Hi, I went through all of the pets put before me and was even given an amount of gold for completing the quest. However, why did I not receive the achiev and not the "Son of Skum" either?

1. Good way to level pets (in high teens or low 20s).

2. All kudos to alessandrouw and saillaw for making and packaging a strategy in easy to use form.

3. Nerfing of Teroclaw doesn't hamper this strategy*; heals from Nature's Ward and Ravage make up for loss of Dodge.

*Except on Vilefang fight; it wrecked my Teroclaw, but proto-whelp and leveling pet handled the rest of the fight.
