The War of the Thorns Darkshore event will no longer be available. This means that the transmog rewards and the two mounts Smoldering Reins of the Teldrassil Hippogryph and War-Torn Reins of the Undercity Plaguebat cannot be acquired.

The follow up quest to the War of the Thorns is the Battle for Lordaeron.
This quest is required to progress in the Battle for Azeroth expansion and you can complete it NOW, before the expansion launch, by completing the Darkshore quest lines.

After Battle for Azeroth launches, this quest will automatically be given to all players as the Darkshore quests, are no longer available.

It appears that this quest can be pushed into your quest log from anywhere, which means that you may want to park your character at Magni's Encampment while waiting for the expansion to launch.
Disclaimer: This has not been confirmed by Blizzard and this is based off some tests on the Beta realms. The quest is auto pushed to your quest log when you log in at any location. It is also pushed to your quest log when you relog. If, for whatever reason, the quest is not pushed to your quest log after a relog and the expansion has launched, you will have to head to Stormwind City / Orgrimmar where you will be given the quest.

Turning on War Mode will increase all the experience you gain by 10%.

It will also give you access to new PvP Talents, which will empower your character with more damage, utility or healing causing you to level faster!

It is possible that you may encounter a stray member of the other faction who has completed their first outpost, but the majority of players will be sticking to their own continent.

Legiondaries can only be used up until you hit 116, at which point their bonus effects will be disabled.

PvP Talents can only be used if War Mode is turned on.

You should aim to finish the main story in each zone as you will need to hit Friendly to unlock World Quests.

The Heart of Azeroth will begin at Level 1 and Item Level 280.

Throughout Zandalar and Kul Tiras, you'll collect Artifact Power which will be used to empower and increase the item level of the neck.
Unlike Legion, Artifact Power will automatically be applied and won't clog up your bags.

Azerite ArmorAzerite TraitsAzerite ArmorAzerite Trait

Completing the first scenario and arriving in Kul Tiras or Zandalar will award you with your first piece of Azerite Armor.
Originally, you'll only get to choose an Azerite Trait on the Spec Ring (Outer Ring) but as you level up your Heart of Azeroth, you will get to choose more Traits on the inner Rings.

These pieces of Azerite Armor will be replaced quickly at level 120, so feel free to pick more leveling focused Traits.

Battle for Azeroth Dungeon Overview

Normal Dungeons drops Item Level 310 gear at Level 120.

Heroic Dungeons drops Item Level 325 gear.

Mythic Dungeons drops Item Level 340 gear.

Alliance

At level 110, the Alliance can access Waycrest Manor, Shrine of the Storm, and Freehold.

At level 115, the Alliance can access the dungeons above as well as unlock Tol Dagor.

At level 120, the Alliance can access the dungeons above as well as unlock Atal'Dazar, The MOTHERLODE!!, Temple of Sethraliss, The Underrot and the Mythic only dungeon Siege of Boralus.

Once Alliance have finished the Blood in the Water step of the Alliance War Campaign, they will unlock Kings' Rest.

Horde

At level 110 , the Horde can access Atal'Dazar, Temple of Sethraliss , and The Underrot.

At level 115, the Horde can access the dungeons above as well as unlock The MOTHERLODE!!.

At level 120, the Horde can access the dungeons above as well as unlock Waycrest Manor, Shrine of the Storm, Freehold, Tol Dagor and the Mythic only dungeon Kings' Rest.

Once Horde have finished the At the Bottom of the Sea step of the Horde War Campaign, they will unlock Siege of Boralus.

Set up all three of your footholds, reach level 120 and reach Friendly with all 3 of your faction's reputations to unlock World Quests and upgrade your Flight Master's Whistle to work in Kul Tiras and Zandalar.

World Quests offer Reputation and varying rewards of Gold, AP, Item Level Appropriate Gear, Bonus Reputation, War Resources, Profession Materials, Battle Pet Materials and more.

Emissaries make a return in Battle for Azeroth and will provide a bonus piece of Gear, AP, Gold or War Resources while also providing a large amount of bonus reputation.

Contracts are crafted by Scribes.

Contracts persist through death and have no duration.

The only factions that don't have a contract are the War Campaign factions: The Honorbound and 7th Legion.

After unlocking World Quests, we recommend picking up a contract for whichever reputation you want, before starting to complete your World Quests.

In order to start unlocking Outposts, you must first purchase a Scouting Report from the 7th Legion or The Honorbound Quartermaster -- these items require Honored or Revered reputation with the related faction and cost 50 or 100 War Resources respectively.

After, you must complete the Scouting Mission on the Mission Table.

Then, get the quest and head to the location of the outpost to set it up!

Heart of Azeroth

There are three difficulties of Island Expeditions: Normal, Heroic and Mythic. Winning the Island Expedition will reward you with Azerite.

Gathering 40k Azerite during the week in Island Expeditions will reward you with a whopping 2,500 Azerite from turning in Azerite for the Horde / Azerite for the Alliance.

Alliance players will be the first faction to have access to the World Boss, Doom's Howl for item level 370 loot.
Alliance will also have access to 6 Arathi Quests which award War Resources, Azerite and Warfronts Equipment Cache which awards an Item Level 340 piece of gear.

Once Contributions are complete, Horde will be able to participate in the Arathi Warfront which awards Item Level 340 loot with a one time quest for 370 loot.

Tyrannical and Fortified will be present on every keystone, as they are now Level 2 affixes.

Infested will be present on every Keystone Level 10 and above.

You are now able to use a Bonus Roll at the end of Mythic+ runs.

You will not be able to farm Azerite Armor from Mythic+, however it can drop from the Weekly Challenger's Chest.

The Weekly Challenger's Chest can now contain up to 3 items. The number of items is random.

Gear Swaps are not allowed inside an Active Mythic+ dungeon.

Some affixes have been changed
Necrotic Wound has been reduced from 3% per stack to 2% per stack.

Enrage can be removed using an enrage removal such as Soothe from Druids or from Hunters.

Grievous Wound was nerfed from 2% per stack to 1.3% per stack.

Explosive orbs are now Red instead of Green and named "Explosive" instead of "Fel Explosive"

World PvP activities

At the end of a match, you will have a chance to acquire an item just like did at the end of a Mythic+ run, with the quality of the item being proportional to your rating.

When you win a Rated PvP match or when you complete your first RBG win of the day, you will earn Conquest. Once you earn enough Conquest, you will unlock a piece of gear at certain breakpoints. It starts off at an LFR-level quality item and it scales up as you progress. If you invest enough time, you will be guaranteed to unlock the full set of gear.

When you fill up a Conquest bar for the week, you will unlock a new weekly reward from a chest near the Dueler's Guild, which is based on the highest bracket you had won at least 1 game in.

September 4th

LFR Uldir will drop Item Level 340.

Normal Uldir will drop Item Level 355.

Heroic Uldir will drop Item Level 370.

Mythic Uldir will drop Item Level 385.
