When you unlock the third guest page for the Ember Court, one of the guests you can invite is Rendle (and Cudgelface). To earn his RSVP, you need to turn in one of the four crafted hats for this achievement.

You get credit for the achievement for turning in the appropriate hat, so you will need to invite them 4 times.

You can do it on the same day. Turn in one of the four items, get credit and abandon the quest. Then take the quest and repeat. All items can be bough in AH for 500-3k (at least on my server).

With the advent of the permanent RSVP it appears that you can lock yourself out of this achievement. I accidentally hit Best Friend with Rendle and Cudgelface off of the Noblegarden buff without doing all of the hats and now can no longer get their regular RSVP quest.

In case you hit exalted with Rendle & Cudgelface before completing the achievement, the quests won't show up but you can still complete them. Just have the lovely dredgers invited to Ember Court, bring the hat to Rendle and talk to him. Thanks to SherryXia for the input.
Also worth noting that they don't actually have to attend the Ember Court. The achievement completes once you turn the fourth hat in.

In order to learn the transmog for these items in addition to using them for the achievement, you now must have two copies, as learning the appearance consumes the item. This behavior was implemented in a previous Shadowlands patch.

I was a bit worried reading about this achievement since I was already best friends with Rendle. I had already completed the Ember Court this week (with a different set of guests). Rendle was selected as my guest for next week at the guest selector NPC. I bought all four party hats, walked to Rendle and he had a blue ? above his head. I was able to turn in all the hats to him, completing this achievement.

Rendle & Cudgelface seem to have automatically RSVP to the Ember Court, even though I am still strangers with them, and so the quest doesnt show up for me to hand in the hats. Any ideas?

Ran into this while leveling the Ember Court for the Back from the Beyond (Legacy) meta achieve. I hit Best Friends with Rendle & Cudgelface during the Noblegarden event before turning the hats in (not required for meta achieve but decided to complete it anyways). As of 10.2.6, you can complete Rendle's Big Day even after reaching BF status. Just have the hats in your inventory and approach them at their location in Sinfall. I had the option to turn the hats in and completed the achieve.
