Thirst for Anima is one of the three (3) Venthyr enhancements available to those who have aligned themselves to the Covenant and unlocked them in the Sanctum.

Head southwest from the Sinfall flight point in Revendreth towards the Shrouded Asylum. Climb the first set of stairs, turn left and you'll see 3 "shrouded" Venthyr in front of a large statue.

Talk to the "Shrouded" Sorcerer to receive the Thirst for Anima enchancement. The enhancement lasts for the day and is only active while in Revendreth.

All of the Venthyr enchancements are listed below along with the "shrouded" Venthyr that grants them.

Out of the three Venthyr enhancements to choose from, this one is probably the best.
1m CD on a 5s stun that deals 50% of your health (or more!) to a single target and heals you for 50% of your health when reduced to below half health is really crazy, especially if you're using a tank spec and have HP bonuses active.

The damage dealt benefits from versatility, but its healing does not.

I had 63220 health in bear form with 13.95% versatility and, since I was in war mode, the PvP trinket set bonus boosted my versatility further (40% more damage/healing effect of versatility), giving me an effective 19.53% versatility for damage/healing dealt.

When this proc'd, the combat log showed that it did 7556 per tick (6322 * 1.1953) to the enemy, and healed me for 6322 per tick.

Just keep in mind: You need to hit an enemy target for this to have any effect. Just healing others or yourself can't proc it.
Additionally (though I haven't tested this), CC breaks will probably remove the damage and healing effects of this enhancement. If you're going to try using this in world PvP, try to bait your enemy into using immunities/CC breaks early. It's also a magic effect, so attentive healers can remove it from others, too.

Okay, so I've been testing out the three Venthyr Enhancements to get a feel for their use, and worth and this is the result of my findings:

First off let me state that despite what has already been said, these are not limited to your Covenant's zones - or at least, not any more if that was the case in an earlier patch. The buff for your chosen enhancement will be available anywhere in Outdoor Shadowlands. This includes all the main Covenant zones (Revendreth, Bastion, etc) The Maw, and Korthia - but sadly not Zereth Mortis - much the same as every expansion's extra features but is not available in old content (Draenor, Legion etc) and unlikely to be available in PVP Content, and maybe not even Dungeons and Raids (haven't checked to be honest, haven't done much o this stuff this expansion.

Also note that while they are stated to be "daily buff" - you can change them at any time, multiple times through the day.

Ashen Urn has a bad rap, but it situationally, and more to the point in relation to class/spec, can be very decent. The Urn is the only "reliable" enhancement - in that you know when this will trigger, for how long it is active and can plan around that where having this pet up would be preferential. That is to say, if you are about to farm an area full of trash mobs, this can be very powerful, as the urns stack with mob deaths, so reaching 10 can be very quick in the right zones, and the 2% damage buff also ican also become very powerful.

For most classes this is a half-decent bit of extra DPS for as long as the mob lasts, although as stated, this is situation on the zone, and low aggro classes, your pet is subject to being killed off before it become powerful enough to start making a difference. Now, for those of you who are high aggro classes, or already have a high aggro pet (Hunter, Unholy DK specifically) this can get to be pretty beefy. Your 5min pet will likely take zero damage (except from AoE) so they are likely to hang around the full 5mins, and with 2% per mob, it has a 100% improvement on it's default damage within the first 50 mobs.

The downside is, this enhancement has a 5min run, then your pet fades away. Like most pets, this mob will not stealth with you, so might be a problem where you need to be stealthed for questing, or if you are a rouge class - although you can probably just tick off the spawned 5min buff to dismiss it anyway.

Mobile Mirrors are potentially more powerful than the Ashen Urn, but with very, very low random proc rate. The proc is focuses within melee range, and can do so even at the cooldown of battle - I had this proc at least once when the mob just died leaving an (Overkill) tag for the attack, but no actual listed damage. The mirror can hit multiple mobs, provided they are all in a tight-knit group, perhaps making this viable for an in-yer-face melee class, although not one that should be relied on. Most likely worthless for ranged classes, except maybe as a stall while you back away should mobs get within melee range - but once again the random proc makes this a roll of the dice.

I don't really have much more to say about this enhancement, because in the hours of testing, I only saw it procs once or twice, and while the damage potential while it was up was arguably more than the urn, the uptime being so low, the urn gives more damage overall. Good for bursts of damage*, but without the ability to predict when this will proc, it is pretty much the least worthwhile of the three options IMO.

Thirst for Anima is sort of midway between the urn and the mirror in terms of reliability, and damage potential. The proc for this enhancement is set to to trigger at half or less health - but bare in mind it will only proc from offensive spells , and abilities so auto-attacks, and heals will will not trigger it (except for damaging heals such as DK's Death Strike) but even then it will not guarenteed to trigger when you want it.

While this enhancement has proc potential at 50% or less health, the exact chance of proc is not mentioned, and not easy to figure out. I have had it proc dead on 50% before now, but other times I have had no proc until around the 30% or less, and even no proc at all before target's death. I never actually died with this enhancement active, so I can't say if not proccing at all before character death is a possibility.

That said, for some classes this may very well be the "go-to" enhancement, given that a heal is a heal, and if your class/spec is starved for heals, then any extra heal is good thing regardless. The same applies to chasses that are stun starved, given that the proc includes a 5 sec stun - nothing to sniff at in the longevity either - so it also has that going for it, but not really a stun you can work with so much as a extra bonus which could potentially save you a cooldown.

As for damage, when thirst does proc, it is also fairly decent at 10% of your health worth of damage, in addition to the 10% of your health healing you get. This works pretty much like a free execute in that respect, making it probably the best for pure damage regardless of it's issues. Another downside is the fact that once it does proc, you are on cooldown for 1min, so it can end up a "Hail Mary or Die" situation where elites, and bosses are concerned.

*I have heard tales of this proc multiple times at once, with some very good damage, but I did not see this for myself.
