An excellent PvP ability to get anyone chasing you away for a little bit. Seems like it will also be very useful when combined with Revelations

Revelations Passive

While in a Chakra state, your Holy Word: Chastise ability will transform into a different ability depending on which state you are in.

Holy Word: Serenity (Heal) - Instantly heals the target for 3162 to 3730, and increases the critical effect chance of your healing spells on the target by 25% for until cancelled. 45 sec cooldown.

Holy Word: Aspire (Renew) - Instantly heals the target for 2363 and another 4470 over until cancelled. 15 sec cooldown.

Holy Word: Sanctuary (Prayer of Healing) - Blesses the ground with Divine light, healing all within it for 299 to 355 every 2 for 15 sec. Only one Sanctuary can be active at any one time.

It's back! Back I tell you! It was a spell in 2.4 which was usable by Dwarf and Draenei Priests. For the entire Wrath era, our friend went missing.

Finally, this one is back again. Like the former one, it has the same effects (except that it first had casting time, but then it got removed), but now it's being revamped in the holy tree. Hopefully, it'll stay through Beta and onto Live!

~~i think that this should not be a talent spell well at least not for holy tree cuz it has no purpose outside pvp unless your group needs a stun~~

edit: yeah at the time i had no idea how hard it was to level a holy priest since then i have gotten 1 to about level 30 and it is #$%^ing hard

Whilst the chastise of BC was a garbage damage/stun ability regardless of cost and cast time, the stun being the worst end of the stick - this new and improved version coupled with the revelations talent looks absolutely incredible.

Revelations makes chastise a much welcome addition to the holy tree with great healing potential.

Lets hope it survives beta.

IMO i think they should make chakra and revelations as masteries, so that chastise wont be useless till then. I mean, what healer will be using a damage+stun? Well, ok, you might, but it shouldn't be in the holy tree unless you give Chakra and Revelations as passives.

Anyone else find it odd that the signature talent the Holy tree gets at level 10 is an attack? I know they said they wanted healers to DPS a little, but this is kinda silly.

Unlike other disorient effects, this doesn't break on damage. Handy! Although it really doesn't seem to behave as a disorient and, as someone commented before, it's more of a stun.

This is a great utility spell, I've been using it quite a bit when I'm doing trash pulls. It works as an interrupt for most Cata trash so using it to stop a nasty spell sometimes heals more by not letting your group take damage. Priest interrupt FTW.

Right, this one changes depending on what state you are in, which is neat. But here is my problem with it..
Since the morphed version of this does not have the same spell source as the main spell, it seems like it can't be used in a macro or in addons like clique.

*Edit*
After some digging around and some testing, I found a neat little thing that solves it quite easy, and more simple then most thing I came over.

/target
/click ActionButton3
/cleartarget

What that does is first to target whoever you have your mouse over, then click the 3rd action button, then clear your target.
Only thing to mind, is that you have to have the original spell (pulled right out from your spell book, with nothing done to it) on that action button slot.
It does not need to be 3, it can be any slot you have free, just change the number so it's the same.
And for those who still are confused, on your first action bar, it ranges from 1-12, then you have things like RightBottomActionButton1-12 and so on.
If you have addons, it could be something like DominosActionButton1.
But don't be afraid, there is an easy way to figure it out and make it work.

1. Place your straight from the spell book Holy Word: Chastise anywhere you want
2. Move your mouse over the button and type in /run DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(GetMouseFocus():GetName()) In your chat.
3. You will then get a message in white text which tells you what it is.
4. Insert that message you got instead of the ActionButton3 from the example above, and you are done.

For those who are using Clique, bring up "Bind other" then "Run custom macro" And enter it all in there.

It may be changed at some point, but for now, it is a simple fix which works like a charm!

It does not specifically mention it in these comments (though someone said it works on trash), but does anyone know if this will work on certain boss fights? Most specifically, I am concerned with the first fight in Heroic SFK. I know they are nerfing it soon because people can't seem to interrupt mend rotten flesh, but until that nerf happens is this spell able to be used to interrupt it? Since that fight basically requires no healing until P2, it should be easy to keep out of a chakra state for the interrupt. I am not in a position to be able to test this for another 8 hours or so, so I am hoping someone might have the answer.

down to 21.25 seconds

down to 17.5 seconds.

As Holy Word: Chastise has a 30-second cooldown, the effect is actually:

rank 1: down by 15% - new cooldown 25.5 sec
rank 2: down by 30% - new cooldown 21 sec

This also applies to the other Holy Word spells accessed via :

Holy Word: Serenity: 15 / 12.75 / 10.5 sec cooldown
Holy Word: Sanctuary: 40 / 34 / 28 sec cooldown

For those using Vuhdo, simply put Holy Word: Chastise in the spell box.

When you're in Chakra, it will automatically use the correct Holy Word Spell for your state.

i.e. when in Chakra: Serenity it will cast Holy Word: Serenity.

Chakra: Serenity transforms Holy Words to Holy Word: Serenity, increase healing of these spells by 25%, and cause these spells and Cascade to refresh the duration of Renew:

Chakra: Chastise transforms Holy Words back to Holy Word: Chastise, grants Smite a 10% chance to reset the CD of Holy Word: Chastise, reduces the mana cost of Smite and Holy Fire by 90%, and increase damage of these spells by 50%:
