Nice way for bliz to make the coveted rocket mount from TCG a bit more worthless to all the eBay sellers. Bliz has that way about them of making things they don't particularly agree with indirectly hurt those doing it.

Now if only they could make gold spammers die in the city they spam. Like after 50 or so individual right click reports...

Given that the drop rate is (most likely) going to be very low (note that getting one qualifies as a Feat of Strength) I doubt it will impact sales much. Also, not everybody wants their Big Love Rocket to be pink. In that way, the TCG rocket mounts are still unique and valuable to the collector.

If it's a Feat of Strength, you will be keeping this mount permanently.

Edit: Statement was made when fear was running rampant about the (im)possibility of not keeping the mount after the event ended.

A reference to the movie The Rock. This chemical rocket drops from Apothecary Hummel. In the movie, a disgruntled general named Hummel threatens to use rockets armed with nerve gas against San Francisco. Additionally, both the movie character and the NPC have subordinates named Baxter and Frye.

Got it today, just so everyone knows it's a 310 mount at max flying skill (as well as serving as a ground mount in non-flying areas) - presumably if you have 310 riding skill, which I already did from my other mounts. Pretty cool, because the Headless Horseman mount scales similarly from a ground mount to a flying mount, but never went 310, instead capping out at 280. Definitely a great collector's mount.

The achievement says that you need to get the rocket from Apothecary Hummel...

Does it matter what order you kill the bosses in; i.e. do you need to kill Hummel last so you loot him, or can you kill them in whatever order you want?

Actually got it today - yay me! yay me! - and I've noticed quite a few things:

- When you mount it, a small heart appears over your toon's head, not unlike the dailies in the cities requiring you to spray perfume or hand out chocolates. It only lasts a few seconds, but they apparently love the mount just as much as you do.

- Riding this in a city or well-populated town will present you with 3-5 people with the following things to say
"Sweet mount!"
"Gratz! I've been hunting that since "
"When did you get that?"
"Jelly!"
""
"F*** YOU I DIDN'T GET THAT THIS YEAR'
"(when playing a male character) f@g"
"( when playing a female character) "

- Many of your fellow guildies will not get this, and may keep a silent grudge. They will most likely take your luck into consideration when doing a guild-wide run in an instance/raid that can award a mount, and will either invite you constantly in hopes that the mount will drop, or ignore you in fear that it will drop, but you will take it.

- This can generate feelings of contempt and admiration in Goldshire, the outside of Stormwind and the outside of Orgrimmar, with people occasionally saying they would be willing to trade in their collection for the Big Love Rocket.

- In battlegrounds and/or instances, a similar occurance will take place as with a city/town.

Oh, how I love hyper-realistic notes.
