I'm pretty sure it will share Vindication's ability to be applied on high-level targets, and that's ok. The ability is still extremely useful for PvP, grinding and some trash-mob fights. :)

If this isn't resistable, Tallstriders are going to be VERY useful in parties and raids; making everyone miss the tank is going to make some fights a lot less stressful for healers. Hopefully, it'll work on bosses too.

About the CD being too long, a BM hunter will have Longevity which will reduce the CD by 30% (so.. thats ~28seconds) which would make it more viable (IF it sticks on raidbosses). And since a tallstrider is a ferocity pet you won't be giving up that much dps.

This ability is automatically triggered when you initially command your pet to attack a target. Usually the target is far away so the ability is wasted. Don't have this ability on auto-cast.

I should note that I've only tested this when in a 5man dungeon where I'd send the pet in after the tank had a few seconds to build up threat.

Dust Cloud: This pet ability will now be cast by the pet at the target instead of while they are moving toward the target.

If this does work on bosses, it will get nerfed the instant a very difficult encounter is made incredibly easy by using this. They don't keep things like that around very long (Luffa, VW tanking 3dSarth, etc..)

I know, Utgarde Keep in both Heroic and Normal version is a joke... But imagine... If this works on the channelled strike one of the bosses does (I think it's the final boss or the boss right before the last boss in the instance, the guy who starts channelling a strong frontal AoE slam attack doing shadow damage), it's be a saver if your tank sucks.

Also, question: Does this work on spells? Because if it does, a well-timed Dust Cloud could work wonders on a PoM mage.

Confirmed, Works on all bosses in ICC 10.
A perfectly timed Dust Cloud on Festergut is absolutely delicious.
As per the comments above, it does not react with spells.
It causes all enemies within 10 yards to miss their next attack. (Melee)
You can view the debuff on the boss it'll be one of the first because its you putting the debuff on.
It goes off fast because it was used by the mob as it goes to hit the tank, as designed.

In MoP, this will reduce mobs' armor.

Don't be scared off by the long cooldown compared to a Raptor's . All three stacks of Mystic Touch are applied at once, so your target is at the full 12% armor reduction sooner, not later.

For those that didn't know, Dust Cloud was changed in Mists - it used to reduce physical attack speed, but nobody does that anymore. Serpents used to weaken armor, but they got a new ability, so Tallstriders filled the gap.

As of Mists of Pandaria this ability applies 3 stacks of weakened armor to all enemies in its range, carving the Tallstrider a niche as the only player-controlled unit which can apply the debuff to more than one enemy in a single attack. Coupled with the fact that it is instant and has a theoretical 100% uptime, it may be the pet of choice for many hunters; especially in dungeon groups where trash may not quite be worth a warrior or rogue applying the debuff.
