Bloodlust is by far the ultimate spell for a shaman. For less than 1,000 mana, at an instant cast no less, the shaman can increase the melee and ranged attack speed, as well as reduce the casting time, of EVERYONE in their party by 30%. For 40 seconds. That's just insane. You can kill a 5 man boss in less than 40 seconds.

This spell can take Lightning Bolt's cast time down to 1.4 seconds (if you're Elemental, of course). Chain lightning goes down to 1 second.

Not to mention the lore and love behind the spell. This spell has been a staple to Warcraft games since Warcraft II. I myself am overjoyed to see it finally implemented. I feel like a real shaman, now.

Will this stack with Troll racial beserking?
That would make Lightning Bolt's Cast time down to 0.8s and chain lightning to 0.5s for 10 sec.

It stacks with troll zerk, and having arcane blast with both is a lot of dps.. not mana efficient but realy amazing dps... the gcd is equal to its cast, even when casted at 0,6 secs =D

global cooldown is equal to cast time for almost all non instant spells. The exception would be rank 1 frostbolt talented down to 1.0s

Blizzard waited to long with impleting lore-wise spells for the Shaman. For example the dual-wield and ofcourse Bloodlust. I'm myself a shaman and I don't care when I use it, except while raiding. It's even more usefull for arenas as you don't need to wait the 10min cooldown afterwards. You can just cast it again after you're out of the Arena. This is extremely usefull for Arenas and it'll give you a nice boost for you party.

We're doing attempts on Prince Malchezaar tonight, and we're keeping our shaman in the party with the healers. It helps them tremendously in phase 2, when they need to keep our MT topped off.

spellstealed heroism and later i got bloodlust in a bg little crazy when /w a disc/holy priest friend to give me power infusion then i poped my icy veins lol

"Non-self % based haste spells will no longer stack with each other. " -Patch 2.4.0
So Bloodlust will not stack with spells like Power Infusion unless of course the priest uses it on himself. The only group haste buff that will stack with Bloodlust is Drums of Battle which equals about 5% haste (To clarify the drums only stack because they give 80 haste rateing not a fixed % like bloodlust. It just happens the 80 haste rateing is roughly 5%). But if you can manage to get both of thoes plus any other self-based haste if definatly is a huge dps boost.

Flygplats - If you're using the WOTLK Wowhead it shows as a base mana cost instead of what you see on the live servers because all abilities in WOTLK were changed to be a base % of mana.

Also, in WOTLK because of the raid stacking / buff / debuff stacking changes. This ability will be raid wide. But all people that gain the buff will be given a 5minute debuff making them unable to regain the buff.

Some classes do extra damage if the boss has low hp (e.g. warrior: Execute, mage: Molten Fury, warlock: Death's Embrace).

If the fight doesn't last longer than 5 minutes you should use Bloodlust/Heroism late in the fight because you can't use it twice anyways.

In 3.1, this (and Heroism) has been changed to a 5 minute cooldown, however the Sated debuff that prevents you from using this again now lasts 10 minutes. An odd move, I can only see it benefiting people who die every 5~ minutes.

I think it is a waste of mechanic changes. If you use two BL's in a boss fight... then your either way to slow or really want to get that 2nd BL off... Most boss fights last for 4 mins tops if you have any dps worth mentioning. Imo waste of time to nerf BL.... oh well no more popping BL off for ressing faster :(

You'd be surprised how quickly 10 minutes pass after a wipe. There's the run from the graveyard, the buffing up, discussing new tactics, waiting for the slackers (there's always some). On my shaman I've never had to tell the group to wait for my Bloodlust before going back at the boss.
The increase in sated is definitely there to prevent multiple uses of bloodlust during one fight, but the cooldown reduction doesn't make the least sense to me.

mostly achievements tries, like less rabi, where u try, wipe and try again over and over. when we tried it b4 patch we used to do 1 with BL 2 w/o. now (on need any more :) ) we couled have used it over and over....

I really find that a 5 minute cooldown with 10 minute Sated makes absolutely no sense. What's the point in the ability having a 5 minute cooldown, if you can't use it for 10 minutes? The reverse would also be true. What would be the point of having you be Sated for 5 minutes, if the ability had a 10 minute cooldown?

I know, I know. Multiple shaman in the raid, I get that. But it seems to me that the numbers should either be both at 5 minutes, or both at 10 minutes. As it stands right now (5 minute cooldown, 10 minutes Sated) I cannot use the ability on myself for 5 minutes after the cooldown wears off....so it's really still at a 10 minute cooldown anyways. This makes me feel kinda cheated, and there's just no point to it. Blizzard really should just put it back to a 10 minute cooldown, and keep the 10 minute Sated so as to prevent having perma-Bloodlust.

Some people will mention, perhaps, you being Sated, with Bloodlust ready to cast, with the rest of the part not being Sated. Would any Shaman in their right mind really cast Bloodlust at that point, or wait until the entire party benefits? I think every Shaman player here knows the answer to that.
The only time this *truly* benefits is because of the synergy this might have with Reincarnation. Say you die in the boss battle, ankh up, and Bloodlust is off cooldown when it happens. Well, now your Sated is gone, so you can come back with guns blazing. I like the sound of that...yes...but you shouldn't have to look so hard for such benefits, and now you're the only one who gets the Bloodlust. Your raid leader might have a beef with you, if you pull off such a move (especially if you kill yourself on purpose just to be able to Bloodlust yourself).

What Pointblank said up there makes sense, but that 10 minutes usually passes by pretty quickly between encounter attempts as is. People have to run back into the instance, repair, gather up and discuss strat...and sometimes restock on food/reagents as well. And, dare I say, is it really so terrible to have to wait a few minutes between encounters, for people to bio and grab snacks/drinks? Are WoW players THAT impatient? Surely our instant gratification doesn't truly need to be so instant.

The 5 minute cooldown only truly serves to make Shaman still feel like the underdog of the WoW classes that they always have been. "Here, you can have it on 5 minute cooldown now. But you still can only get it every 10 minutes, so nice try."

In fact, if you read the description carefully, you will see that it's actually a tiny overall nerf: "After the completion of this effect..."
This implies that the 10 minutes of Sated do not take effect until Bloodlust ends, so it's more like we have a 10min 40sec cooldown.

Not sure how this hasn't been added yet, but as of 3.2 this spell is now equal to Heroism once again.

In 3.1, Heroism could be cast while exhausted, Bloodlust could NOT be cast while sated. (of course, Heroism did not affect any raid member that was exhausted, but it could be cast on people who had been battleressed, ankh'd, soulstoned up, and on temporary pets, such as Feral Spirits, even if the casting shaman was exhausted)

In 3.2, both spells can be cast while debuffed. This means that Horde enhancement shaman can have bloodlust on their wolves every 3 minutes if there's a second shaman in the raid, and people who die and get ressed during combat, via any means, can be bloodlusted again even if the shaman who are available to cast the spell cannot.

Kudos to Blizzard for bringing the added functionality to Horde instead of nerfing the Alliance.

spellstealed this off a warrior then had bloodlust popped a few seconds after, my frostbolt was on roughly a 0.8 second cast (geared for alot of haste) was very fun, especially when it came to taking the last door (when heroism and bloodlust were used) i was having the time of my life :)

So this may be a stupid question, but does this add 30% haste or multiply your current haste by 30%? Either way it is awesome, but I would like to know so I can gear and stay under Haste Cap. I am never thinking of it when I am running a raid and the shaman in my guild hates me so he will never help me find out, OOC.

Just a note, this is a classic warcraft ability, and was cast first by ogre magi in the earlier two games, but changed to the orcish shaman in the third. It even shares the same glowing hands affect and icon.

Why this went to Shaman instead of Warriors is beyond me (Shaman are not inherently related to bloody violence, as opposed to a Warrior, similar can be said of heroism.)

Something that I noticed on my DS run today... Bloodlust's cooldown seems to reset after every boss kill/wipe... and the sated buff faded too after killing the boss (It always faded after a wipe for obvious reasons)
