As a druid, Rebirth is one of the things that only you can do. As such, you should always carry sufficient reagents along with you.

Rebirth is used in high-level content to quickly resurrect the main tank if he or she falls during mid-battle.

This is one of the best things druids are good for and healing in raids :P But gives a good reason why druids are wanted and still needed in raids. This will restore half or more of a tanks hp as well as half or more of a casters mana. Use it wisely and just don't use it to res a caster only your tanks unless told otherwise :)

This battle rez is amazing. In many of the raids I have been to, druids have really saved the day.

One VERY popular boss strategy relies on this. For Razorgore the Untamed, the first boss in BWL, warlocks soulstone the druids, who in turn ressurect priests for phase 2 of the battle. 3 priests in a battle do alot less than 3 druids and 3 priests.

Battle rez is AMAZING. if in a group, i highly reccomend not ever using this spell unless it is absolutley nessecary.

Well, because you need some "mats" to do this spell, i think its best to get the lowest skilled combat ress mat, and some of the highst rank combat ress mats... Because if ur are resto its easy to ress with the lowest rank > natures swiftness > healing touch > regrowth... but ofc if you got a lot of money you can use the highst rank combat ress each time.. xD

But this was just a good way to earn some small money on using the cheapest way :)

Oh and yes, i know what im talking about.. Been resto since the new patch 2.0.1.. now im balance ;)

It can be used in combat, but is still limitedly useful because of it's 30 minute cooldown timer.

This will never replace a Priest, Paladin or Shaman rez in a 5-man raid, but is a great main tank rezzer or wipe preventor in raids.

Like, this skill is called "Battle rezz" for somethin. Its highly valuable even though its only available each 30 mins. Heck it can even be used to great effect ((if you know some of the guys you are with)) in pvp to reinforce a striking force... as usually the guys that go in first end up dead fast... or on defence... anyways i digress..

In raids or the like, a druid should have the good judgement to rezz priests as primary target, or if you think dps is lackin rezz a damned mage.

Its also a tool to use when you are saving, or cant use innervate, let the caster die and rezz it. Rebirth, even though has a long cooldown and needs a reagent, its not a spell to save up!, many druids avoid using it to save it for when its right. I think they shouldnt. Simply because it has a great use it should be used a lot... not to mention people love you for it.

No wonders why it's 30min.
You just can be reborn in another 3 seconds and be as powerful as when you were dead.
Even if it still returns your spirit to your body just like Ressurection or other similiar spells.

If you are in a Heroic or even a normal 5-man and Rebirth is the only thing that’s going to keep you from having to clear trash again, or potentially ending your run, then I’m not sure what isn't smart about using it as wipe prevention.

Of course in a raid it would be silly to waste its utility as a soulstone, but not every group is a raid.

If you have a warlock and another healer in the group ( like a priest) Have the warlock Soulstone the priest, and save rebirth for your tank. Saved a group of mine from wipeing on a few occasions.

this is a very, very good spell to have.
even though it's on a 20 minute cooldown, there are many other 'res' classes, such as a pally, priest and shaman. If you have one of these in your group, you'll have no problems reviving your group.

WotLK Alpha-testing Druids are currently (as in, rank 1 to 7 are in their spellbooks) receiving an out-of-combat resurrection called Revive! So far this is in addition to Rebirth.

This spell is usable in conjunction with Nature's Swiftness, meaning if your tank goes down and you have a train of mobs running at you, you are able to instantly rez him/her and hope they can get off an AOE Taunt before the mobs kill you.

While rebirthing the main tank isn't always viable, there are plenty of times when you can prevent a wipe by resurrecting an offtank. Zul'Aman alone has three examples of this:

On Nalorakk, you have two tanks taking turns to tank one phase each. Nalorakk is tauntable, so if one of the tank dies he can be resurrected and take over on the next phase transition.

On Jan'alai, you have an offtank tanking adds that come in two waves. If the tank dies between the waves, you can resurrect him to allow him to tank the second wave of adds.

On Halazzi, two tanks are needed on the boss. Only the main tank actually needs to have aggro though, and the offtank only needs to be standing close to him to soak Saberlashes. If the offtank dies, he can be resurrected and keep going as if nothing happened. If the main tank dies and the offtank is second on threat, you can resurrect the main tank and have him offtank Halazzi for the rest of the fight.

In short, don't underestimate the uses of this spell. For raiding, it's one of the most powerful abilities of any class.

you learn Rebirth at lvl 20 and get a new rank after 10 lvls
example: Rank 1 lvl 20
Rank 2 lvl 30
Rank 3 lvl 40
dont know why is rank 6 is at lvl 69 and not 70

This spell with the newest patch is just a huge bonus to a druids already large repitoire of spells

with an out of combat no cooldown rez added in, this can be used more often and in different circumstances.

No resto druid should feel bad or hesitate about rezzing the MT immediatly after he falls now.

I do not know if it was just a bug or they changed it but Group wiped and I got a rebirth so Group dies and there is a mob a bit to close to res. So a rogue begans to sap him and the rebirth expires. And I can only release spirit now

FYI, no Druid ever forgets that they have this ability. If we are not using it on you, then either it's on cooldown, or we can't shift out of bear form while five 30-foot giants are beating on us. Please do not ever ask us on vent for this abiltiy. If we have not used it, either for some reason we can't, or we are saving it for someone more important.

A few points.

- To druids: Every DPSer should use this if it is needed. It doesn't matter if you have to shift out of cat form and lose a few precious seconds of DPS to res a healer, it is (sometimes) worth it in the end. Healers should only use it when they have the opportunity to stop healing for a few seconds. Tanks should never use it while being attacked.

- The glyph removes the reagent for this spell. I love it, even as a bear tank, because that means one more inventory spot.

- To non-druids: Multiple times I have seen this. As the only druid in the group, I still have people asking for a battle res. Unless you want your tank going from 100% to dead in two seconds or less, you'll have to do without the res. Bear tanks can only res when there are short periods of non-tanking (such as when Icehowl is stunned or Marrowgar is bladestorming)

- With the long cooldown (extended in Cataclysm), there is no reason to use this spell on a fight that is clearly a wipe (AKA both tanks are down or half of the DPS is dead).

- If you are going to use this, prioritize tanks and healers. If you have to choose between a tank and a healer, chances are it's going to wipe.

It's called a "Battle Rez" for several reasons:

It's the only resurrection spell in the game that can be used during combat (excepting self-res abilities like Soulstone or Reincarnation)
Until the addition of Revive (an "out of combat" res) in patch 3.0.2 in October of 2008, the only way a druid could resurrect someone was through the use of Rebirth. So for 1 month short of 4 years, this spell, usable in combat, was all druids had to resurrect someone.
Calling it a "battle rez" differentiates it from any other res spell.
No one ever says "Rebirth the healer!" they say "battle rez the healer!" in the same way that people say "res everyone after the wipe" instead of "Redemption and Ancestral spirit everyone after the wipe"

Rebirth will be back down to a 10 minute cool down come Cata.

When the Cata Expansion comes out a blue post stated that rebirth and soulstone (Edit: also Raise Ally come 4.1) will work only once in a 10-man raid, 3 if 25-man.

Outside of that, Rebirth works infinitely, so the cooldown reduction is welcome when you need to cast rebirths in an occasional emergency.

In MoP it will most likely have it's reagent removed.
However as it's still in beta phase we don't know for sure.

Druid tanks can use this when they are not actively tanking anything, be it the boss or adds. If one tank is down, please don't ask the druid tank to BREZ.
