Love this talent for in arena. When i first started arena i was MM and i couldnt barely do anything against a rogue or warrior as they kept doing slow effects on me. Now i love to send my pet on a lock and to watch the entire fight as the lock trying to fear my pet off of him. 18 secs sometimes doesnt feel like a long time but the CD feels like forever. Also pet under BW with a shaman's heroism+frenzy talent+Cobra reflexes= impossible casting time for casters, as the pet hits so fast it will keep interupting the cast time and caster die pretty fast.

This talent is pretty much the reason why people shun Beast Mastery spec'd "Huntards".
The high attack speed ruins casting and takes a lot of HP along with it. Fear immunity makes Warlocks, Priests, Warriors and other Hunters poop their pants.

It's a great talent, and that's what people don't like; something awesome that they don't have...

...Though we have to be honest...It's a bit overpowered ;D

In the 18 sec you have The Beast Within and Bestial Wrath up, you have a very strong chance of winning a fight against any PvP enemy that will be relying on stuns/fears/slowing effects to beat you. Combined with Ferocious Inspiration, other AP/speed buffs and a pet with Cobra Reflexes, Frenzy and Intimidation, you enter the easymode category when facing casters and the like.

In a 2v2 match against a mage and warlock, the 2 other players were lying dead on the floor before TBW/BW expired. It's that great when worked in conjunction with other stuff!

This ability, combined with Rapid Fire and The Beast Within makes you devastating. Making this combination a macro can be quite useful, as they don't share an instant cooldown, as such:

/cast Bestial Wrath
/cast Rapid Fire

Note: You still might want to keep Rapid Fire in your action bars to make sure you don't use this while its on cooldown. So really, the only reason you want this is to give you a little edge by being able to cast this only with the click of a button.

EDIT: you're right Genericusername, I don't know why people downrated you. So now, the macro can be used for something else: not having to change icons (essentially giving you about a .05 sec edge, depending on how fast your mouse is, and how accurate you are when moving it to other icons). At the same time you should probably macro a trinket into the spell.

Just a tip to all hunters. Do not use this when sapped. save it for cheap shot, or if the rogue garrotes, kidney shot. Many a time I've seen a hunter BW out of sap, then have it fade before the rogue does anything.

No one has mentioned this so I will, not only is it immunity but while IN stun you can break out and I believe the same goes for fear, but you can't get out while polymorphed.

This might be noobish but i dont have this spell yet im 4 lvls away it says can not be stop unless kill so are u immune to cc untill u die or just the 18 sec. It says the 50% damage for 18 sec but will the immune to cc go away to?

Come WotLK hunter talents, I fear this talent (and its subsequent talent, The Beast Within) may be reworked, as well as Serpent's Swiftness... unless the later tiers are ungodly, builds like http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=ctbM0gxRwuVoVqbRVzGZ0h will completely destroy DPS meters, just like the current cookie cutter does for the first half of progression.

120*0.7=84, 84-20=64s, 64-18 (time that TBW is active)=46 seconds of downtime between Bestial Wrath/The Beast Within abilities.

I've been playing an 80 hunter on my gfs beta, BW isnt as godly as it used to be in pve compared to other classes and what theyre doing now. Oh well. At least we can tame a devilsaur? LOL!

This is generally regarded as an offensive weapon. However the major differences between a good BM hunter & a bad BM hunter IMO is understanding exactly how powerful this is as a defensive weapon.

Just been intercepted & hamstrung by a warrior in PVP? Bestial Wrath, Wingclip, get range & pwn.

Surrounded by fire on Archimonde & a fear's coming up? Bestial Wrath & keep on pwning.

Yes, the extra damage is absolutely brilliant. But, particularly in PVP, never ignore the fact it's the ultimate stun/fear/slow/whatever-you-want-to-immobilise-me-with trump card.

PS. I particularly like to follow it up with wingclip then 10-15 secs later an intimidate or trap in PVP & combine it with trinkets/rapid-fire/both in PVE.

One thing I'm personally a little apprehensive about is the new "enrage" mechanics coming out in WotLK. Currently, Warriors, Death Knights, and Assassination Rogues are getting enrage abilities that are dispellable by Tranq Shot and Anesthetic Poison. So far it doesn't seem to be the case, but by wording it wouldn't be much of a stretch for Bestial Wrath to find itself suddenly in that category.

This one plus The beast within is the almighty godmode, bend over and take it, me win u die ability that makes other classes run for their lives when i use it. I love to see people just turn and run when i pop this and send my pet after them, most people also panics and blow every ability they have (read: HoJ, Blind, Repentance, Charge, Intercept, Psychic scream, Fear chains) trying to to stop me. I just keep running on, laughing while they try to catch me with my glowing red HUGE devilsaur chewing their hp up, piece by piece...

today i took a pet out of the stables that was in it for quite some time. When i took it out i noticed it had bestial wrath on it and said that it had 5 days remaining. bug or buff for keeping it in the stables for a while? wasnt sure and thought one of u guys could tell me.

This talent along with has been nerfed with 3.2.2. The duration has been reduced from 18 seconds to 10 seconds but hunters with this talent will do an additional 10% damage at all times (whether the talent is activated or not)

Personally I'm gonna miss its 18 second duration. it was just about long enough to fight through a paladins mana bar without being stunned.

If you level up while this skill is active the(normally golden) plume of light will be blood-red.

This holds true for any effect that turns your body red, such as the Animal Blood debuff in Borean Tundra.

No longer grants immunity to CC for the hunter, however, you WILL be able to use it to break fear, stun, all movement slows/snares etc, when you first activate it. So, although it sucks to have lost the immunity, with the reduced focus cost and the inital break from CC, I still feel this is a very powerful ability.

As of 4.0 I've found that Bestial Wrath no longer makes you immune to fear or any other CC while in effect, it just breaks out of them... maybe it's a glitch

Omg, right after i dinged 69 i tamed Gomegaz, then went into a BG. this little dwarf paladin seemed to have it in for me so i hid behind some of the rocks in EotS and as he went to the bridge i popped HM/pet attack macro, BW, KC, and Boom Dead Dwarf pally. i was laughing so hard at that, because later her got me in his 6 second stun and he layed into me with everything, and i survived till well after that stun wore off.

Currently as of 5.1 PTR Patch Notes, Bestial Wrath will no longer grant our pets immunity to CC, and will instead break any form of CC on the moment it's activated. HUGE nerf.

The exact quote:

Bestial Wrath no longer grants Hunter pets immunity to crowd control effects, and instead now breaks existing crowd control effects when activated.

As of Patch 6.0, no longer breaks the Hunter from the stun, just the pet. Apparently that aspect of it was a glitch throughout MoP. ...That's a long glitch...
