Hello all,

I decided to post wow-professions cooking guide here to help everyone,

First, visit any trainer in the main cities of old Azeroth - just ask a guard, and learn Apprentice Cooking.

You can make Basic Campfire to cook your food.

1 - 40

60 x Spice Bread - 60 Simple Flour, 60 Mild Spices

40-80

40 x - 40 Bear Meat

Usually where are bears, there are Wolfes too. Kill those and you can also cook Spiced Wolf Meat - 1 Stringy Wolf Meat.

At 75, you have to visit your trainer in order to to learn Journeyman Cooking.

80 - 130

Learn Journeyman Cooking.

80 - 130

Go to Ashenvale, and head to the Zoram Strand, where the sea is (north-west).

Alliance players can buy this recipe too, because the Crawlers drop Crawler Claws too. Don't sell the Crawler Claws!

To get this cooking recipe, you have to complete a quest chain first. It can be obtained in Cenarion Hold in Silithus.

You have to complete a quest chain for this cooking recipe. This quest can be obtained a bit south west of Honor Hold.

You have 3 choice now. I say, farming Talbuk Venison and Clefthoof Meat is a lot easier than the Warped Flesh, because they are both in Nagrand.

Visit your trainer and learn Grand Master Cooking.

350 - 365

Get the Northern Cooking quest and complete it. It requires 4 Chilled Meat. Completing this quest will teach you how to create Northern Stew

The Cooking trainer will teach you a lot of recipes which will go green at 382 skill and gray at 415 skill. Any of these recipes are good for skilling up Cooking. I recommend Rhino Dogs if you want to farm the materials. There are a lot of Rhinos around Warsong Hold in Borean Tundra, and they respawn really quickly. If you want to buy the materials, you should check the prices for Rhino Dogs, Worm Meat and Fangtooth Herring. These are usually the cheapest ones.

13 x Rhino Dogs - 13 Rhino Meat

375 - 400

Making one Kungaloosh costs 66 silver, so if you find out that Rhino Meat, Worm Meat or Fangtooth Herring is cheaper than that, buy those instead.

You have to finish a quest chain first. It can be found at Nesinwary's Base Camp in Scholazar Basin and starts with the quest called Some Make Lemonade, Some Make Liquor and ends with The Taste Test. After you completed the quest chain, go to Dalaran and find the Washed-Up Mage, he is in the In the underbelly (sewers). He will teach you how to make Kungaloosh. After that, go to the Dalaran Fruit Vendor and you can just buy the materials from him.

400 - 425
Every cooking recipe beyond this point will be purchased with Dalaran Cooking Awards, which are obtained by completing the daily cooking quest given by Katherine Lee (Alliance) or Awilo Lon'gomba (Horde). And you're going to need them and a ton of Northern Spices to level past 425 skill.

Choose one recipe from these, and make that until you reach 425. The recipes are sold by Derek Odds (Alliance) and Misensi (Horde).

425 - 450

Yeah, the above comment is right, easy and unexpensive way to skill your cooking up to 350... just do the cooking on Pilgrim´s Bounty. Very easy and fast way to start your cooking :o)

Just trying to figure out if there are any new cooking recipes in Cataclysm that can be obtained in any way other than by getting the cooking tokens from the dailies?

I see now there are two from "Achievements" but can anyone shed insight on this? Are there ANY that can just be trained?

Now that the Cataclysm's hit, I've heard many recipes have outright disappeared. In some cases, the NPCs that could sell them to either faction have disappeared and not been replaced. Has anyone seen a more comprehensive list of what's missing?

all the cooking recipes for Cataclysum are listed as being sold by vendors. I haven't run into one so far. Can anyone shed any light as to where they are?

Hi
My cooking is 465/525
My cooking lvl is stuck at 465. I can only buy 450 receipes with my cooking awards although when learned they are all gray. I can not buy 475 receipes because I am stuck at 465. There is nothing left to learn from trainer as my max is 525, I am now illustrious (but stuck at 465). Does anyone have any ideas how to solve thise problem?

Cooking cannot be leveled past 465 if you are under level 10. This is rather unfortunate and annoying, considering it has been possible to level cooking to max through all the expansions on my level one bank alt until now.

Horde miniguide to get to 300 Cooking using Fishing materials! ( I will update up to 525, still working on that)

Requirements: LVL60, Flying Mount, Azeroth Flying license

First of all boost your cooking skill to 40 just using Spice Bread
Buy: 50x Simple Flour & 50x Mild Spices in ANY major city, even Silvermoon is fine!

Travel to Thunder Bluff
Buy (fishing): Fishing Pole, 10x Shiny Bauble, 10x Nightcrawlers, 20x Bright Baubles from Sewa Mistrunner.
Buy (cooking: Recipe: Brilliant Smallfish from Sewa Mistrunner and Recipe: Longjaw Mud Snapper from Naal Mistrunner.

Start fishing at Thunder Bluff central pond!
Aiming to collect: 15x Raw Brilliant Smallfish, 55x Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper, 25x Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish
You will also get Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish there, KEEP those.

Cook: Brilliant Smallfish until you reach 50 Cooking.
Learn Cooking!
Cook: Longjaw Mud Snapper until you reach 100 Cooking.
Cook: Bristle Whisker Catfish until you reach 125 Cooking.
Learn Cooking! :-)

Travel to Orgrimmar, then head to Stranglethorn Vale using Zeppelins.
Buy: Recipe: Filet of Redgill, Recipe: Mithril Head Trout from this nice chap that is Kelsey Yance.

Travel back to Grom'Gol and then take zepp to Undercity.
Head to Bulwark in Tirisfal Glades, zone to WPL and find the nearest water pond.
Start fishing there!
Aiming to collect: 70x Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish, 60x Raw Mithril Head Trout
Cook: Bristle Whisker Catfish until you reach 175 Cooking.
Cook: Mithril Head Trout until you reach 225 Cooking. ( STOP at 225, you can continue later on!)

Travel back to Undercity to learn Cooking :-)
Travel to EPL, Light's Hope Chapel
Start fishing in the nearest pool!
Aiming to collect: 25x Raw Redgill, 25x (Raw Nightfin Snapper + Raw Sunscale Salmon)
Cook: remaining Mithril Head Trout.
Cook: 25x Filet of Redgill until you reach at least 250 Cooking.
Cook: 25x (Nightfin Soup + Poached Sunscale Salmon) until you reach at least 275 Cooking.

Heartstone to get back to Orgrimmar/Thunder Bluff
Learn Cooking! :-)
Buy: Recipe: Baked Salmon from Sheendra Tallgrass in Feralas.

Fly back to Orgrimmar/Thunder Bluff and use the portal to Blasted Lands
Head to the water spot in southern part of BL, you can see it there.
Start fishing there!
Aiming to collect: 25x Raw Whitescale Salmon.
Cook: 25x Baked Salmon.
You should have now a Cooking skill of 300! :-)

was able to get cooking up to 415 just by fishing in wintergrasp cause the left over fish will be used for fish fest it might take a bit longer but its a lot cheaper.

415-440 Darkbrew Lager can buy all the mats from a vendor named Sarah Brady in the sewers of Dalaran

Cooking Changes
So you might have heard for Cooking in Mists of Pandaria we will have specializations. At the moment we're looking at around 5 branches of cooking, for example: broiling, steaming...etc.

Each of these specializations will focus on a particular stat. So let's say the Steaming specialization allows you to create Agility food. A rogue would find that very interesting, and would probably want to max that one out first. At which point, said rogue would be able to create Agility buff feasts for groups. Cool, huh?

But worry not, once you max out in one specialization, you can then work on the other specializations. :)

Anyone know what comes next after MEGA MAMMOTH MEAL? I am at 473 and its GREEN for me. The Cooking Trainers have nothing. The trainers that have the recipes that you spend cooking awards on are all lower lvl recipes. I need to raise my cooking up! HELP!

to everyone who is having trouble with the dailies in each of the cities if you do one of them all of them are counted as done so if you do stormwinds one ironforge, darnassus & exodar have been done

For anyone looking for a cooking trainer within the Pandaren starting zone, there isn't one (nor fishing or first aid). In the Bliz beta forums there was some discussion about this. Seems it was by design, because of the way their respective achievements work and how the dailies are tied to a faction. There are primary profession trainers in the starting zone and plenty of farming nodes (herbs and mines). When complete the starting zone quests and reach a minimum level 10 (usually 11 or 12 by then) you choose a faction and are immediately transferred to the capital city of the faction you choose.

Cooking is a little tricky to level in MoP past the mid-500's... it threw me for a loop for a bit.

at a certain point, all cooking recipes will be greyed out and you'll have to train in (at least one) Way. see the other comments/recipes to decide which Way you want to focus on (each has multiple levels of food that buff a single stat, and all seem to have feasts at the end that buff all stats for a raid)

your overall Cooking level is based on the skill level of your highest "Way." even though all recipes may look orange, your overall Cooking skill will only increase when you make an orange recipe for your highest Way. other skill-ups will only increase the skill of that Way (until it becomes your highest, than it will increase your overall Cooking level).

the Pandaren +cooking racial does not seem to give you a bonus to your Way cooking, though it will force you to make 5-7 feasts to max out cooking.

I've been trying to farm Red Blossom Leak to make some Banquet's but have had no luck, tried to farm the Darnassian Outrider but just doesn't drop them often enough for me.

I was thinking if there was any other way except for going to the Auction House, and then I saw "Replenishing the Pantry" from Nam Ironpaw in Halfhill. (He's the stockmaster you can swap Ironpaw Tokens to get your "sack of...."

Basically you can make a Bundle Of Groceries (available from Merchent Cheng) from any other meat/fish/vegetables that you can farm easily and essentially "trade" them for other meat/fish/vegetables that you prefer! As when you hand in the Bundle of Groceries, you get an Ironpaw token :D

I would recommend farming Wildfowl Breast from the Glade Hunter/Glade Sprinters just north of Halfhill as there are plenty of them there with a fast respawn rate and they are only level 86 so they die fast for a level 90, take them back to halfhill and swap for whatever you need :)

Thank god i realised this sooner than later!

Getting from lvl 1 to 75 NINE TIMES for my toons for the Darkmoon Faire prize. Geez.
1. Get Recipe: Smoked Bear Meat from the inn at the Loch Modan.
2. Farm 20 bear meat from the southern and eastern parts of the forest.
3. Farm 20 boar meat from the Vineyard farm in the Forest.

Nothing too hard. Get to lvl 40 by hook or crook by the bread. Get as high as you can with the boar and you should reach lvl 75 with the bear. Might need one of two more bear meat.
Everything can be done at Goldshire as the vendor at the tent does the bread and the cooking trainer is in the Inn.

Mists of Pandaland cooking guide:
Choose way of the Wok.
Complete the quests at halfhill so you get ironpaw tokens.

Go to Anglers wharf, south of the Incursion in Karasang Wilds, Start fishing for Reef Octopus's, Giant mantis Shrimp, and Golden carp.(A fishing supply vendor is in one of the houses who sells you lures). Then go to Halfhill and Buy some storage box's and place the fishies in them. Hand them in And get loooooads more tokens. Sell the tokens and get materials to make your feasts!

If you have MoP, it's possible to level a new cook to 600 in Pandaria alone. You must be 85 at the min. In a day I went from 1 to 530. The only reason it took me a day was because of the wait on the crop to grow. It was a little upsetting since it took me so long to level my mains cooking. Just another thing they made easier to do.

Guys and girls, you need to disregard all the comments above because with MoP they have made it rediculously easy to max out your cooking.

all you have to do is get someone to port you to shrine of two moons, have them fly you over to the jade forest to the cooking trainer there, learn recipies, go back to shrine of two moons, there is a vendor there that sells 99% of the cooking mats you need, and you can pretty much go from 1-560(if you're a panda) in like 45 min. some stuff you have to buy like golden carp for a few recipies but you are lookin at spending maybe 300-400g to max your cooking out before going to halfhill.

I have not seen this list anywhere, so as I leveled Cooking via Halfhill market I just kept track of what I used during a speed test :)

level cooking 1-525 with the Following

Buy from Sungshin Ironpaw at Halfhill Market

21 Pandaren Peaches
6 Instant Noodles
18 Needle Mushrooms
18 Rice
30 Yak Milk
6 Silkworm Pupa
6 Barley
6 Farm Chicken
6 Red Beans
1 Ginsing

You will also need 42 golden Carp, and 1 Wildfowl Breast that you cannot buy from this vendor.
Train as you learn, Create 6 of each red/orange item, then train and move on, as soon as you get the next level of cooking master available learn it! This almost messed me up a few times since you fly through the levels.

when you can't cook more for skillpoint just do darkmoon faire quest for skill every month :)

All recipes for each Way at a glance (updated for 5.4), showing you the progression and all that's available without needing to look further. The 275 and 300 stat buffs for single users (415 and 450 in Stamina) are underlined.

This is helpful if you want to make sure you know what all the recipes are for each Way, pulled right from the database, rather than blindly following any guide (including those in comments here). It can be time consuming to check everything, but here you have the full and accurate list for each recipe on a single page.

The links on the left side will open the page of each Way. Every recipe listed here will show all mats and buffs on tooltip if you mouseover:

MoP Cooking Guide Fast 1->525 plus ingredients!

First complete this quest:

So You Want to Be a Chef... from Sungshin Ironpaw beside Nam Ironpaw.

From Ranjid's comment on So You Want to Be a Chef..., the total vendor ingredients required to get your your cooking skill up to 525 are:

Pandaren Peach x 27
Instant Noodles x 6
Needle Mushrooms x 18
Rice x 17
Yak Milk x 20
Silkworm Pupa x 6
Barley x 6
Red Beans x 6
Farm Chicken x 6
Ginseng x 2

These are vendor ingredients obtainable from Sungshin Ironpaw at a total cost of ~180g.

These are ingredients that must be obtained from fishing/farming or the AH:

Golden Carp x 42
Wildfowl Breast x 2

Use these ingredients to get your cooking skill up to 525 (each progressive recipe can be learned from the same quest giver who is also a cooking trainer).

At cooking skill 525, you unlock Ready for Greatness from Sungshin Ironpaw:

Upon completion of Ready for Greatness which allows a cooking skill up to 600, you will unlock Way of the Brew,Way of the Grill, Way of the Oven, Way of the Pot, Way of the Steamer, and Way of the Wok from Sungshin Ironpaw.

The ingredients required to complete these quests are:

Ginseng x1
Raw Tiger Steak x5
Wildfowl Breast x5
Jade Lungfish x5
Giant Mantis Shrimp x5
Juicycrunch Carrot x5

With these ingredients, proceed to the masters chefs Bobo Ironpaw, Kol Ironpaw, Jian Ironpaw, Mei Mei Ironpaw, Yan Ironpaw, and Anthea Ironpaw located in the Halfhill Market nearby and complete the quest.

Accept each chef's subsequent quest which requires you to learn a starting recipe from their training list and complete the quest, you will already have the ingredients required from the previous quest.

Having completed all the chef's tasks will you be able to unlock Preserving Freshness which requires Empty Raw Tiger Steak Container x1 from Merchant Cheng which will finally unlock Replenishing the Pantry from Nam Ironpaw.

If you want to further your training to Master of Pandaren Cooking, you should check out the ingredients required there in the comments section.

If you want to power level your character using Replenishing the Pantry from 85-90 as shown in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RswFf8AfYTQ then you would require ~2295 Bundle of Groceries, which varies depending on XP buffs and the XP required from 85-90.

In WoD you will discover new cooking recipes while cooking, starting from the 2 fish dishes recipes in the 'Secret of Draenor cooking' that you will loot during the early stages of your questing in Draenor ; they will appear in your inventory as 'recipe idea'.
