More vendor trash! So with Mists, they made crated artifacts. You can use those to buy things to teleport you to random digsites

Personally, I've been leveling alts through pet battles, gathering, and archaeology. Much more fun than running everywhere. I've got my main to level 100, and he's barely a third of the way into Nagrand. My main cleared Shadowmoon, and got the 3 achieves for it. At 96, I left Draenor and headed for HalfHill

You could try leveling through Archaeology. You get XP every time you get fragments from digging.

I believe that Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Herbalism, Inscription, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Mining, Skinning, Tailoring, Archaeology, Cooking, First Aid, Fishing and Riding are among the best professions for hunters.

The archaeology cycle is very random.

I finished everything in Shadowmoon, and then took myself to Pandaria to do pet battles. No flight on Draenor is a drag, and I would rather get XP from Archaeology, Pet Battles, and Mining, than continually grinding very poor lore on the ground. I love the landscapes, and enjoy my garrison, but this expansion is proving to be less interesting as I
