Description

Morbent Fel hides in his lair, the house perched atop the hill to the east overlooking the Raven Hill cemetery. His time in this land is drawing to an end...

Use Morbent's Bane against him. It will render his protective magics powerless.

Slay him. Slay him, and save us from his wickedness. Be the instrument of my revenge, and a hero of Duskwood!

Three other guards are in the room with Morbent Fel. And one at the top of the stairs before you get to the room. pull the one from the top of the stairs then buff up and focus on the other 4. Pets and DOTS will help. Also make sure you are using the torch of the holy flame. This will degrade MF's Armor enough to help you destroy him. Soloing him may be an effort with out a pet. or being Lvl-60

Thanks for the info on all the guards around MF, just a quick question..... How can you use an item that is a quest reward for completing this quest?

This guy is a BEAR to kill. I am lv 43 hunter w/pet and teamed with a 29 warrior (I think) ... the guards are a pain to get at first. You will need (may need ...) some heals to get to kill him. One thing we both errored on was killing Morbent Fel BEFORE our visit to Sven that says "bring Morbent's Bane to Sven" ... I incorrectly thought that meant AFTER we killed him. WRONG! He basically wants to check out your weapon. You MUST see him also BEFORE you kill him ... or you will have to do it twice, like we did!! There was no special loot drop, no head, etc. Just his death to complete the quest, then a quick run back to Sven to finish up.

Well, I did the quest long time ago, with aid of friend... He was around lvl 40 and I were high 20's...
Now at lvl 40 I pretty easily killed him, and I didn't even disable his bubble.
But it is really important to remove it, makes it way easier.

This was a easy one to kill even at level 37 you just need to take out the guards around him.

You can solo this at level 34 maybe lower. Coords: 17, 33

You just take out 2 of the guards in the room, then die. Go res, kill 2 more, then die. Go res and now you have Morbent all alone, and if you have some shadow resistance, you can kill him without problems.

soloed as a level 33 shaman, throw a grounding totem, stoneclaw totem for the adds, and beat the crap outta morbent fel. i was able to kill him, then the adds with the Gift of Naaru and a health pot.

Soloed this as a 30 Combat Rogue. First I sapped Morbent, then moved around the corner and popped Blade flurry. I was able to kill the adds, then vanish. I bandaged and went back in on Morbent. I used the torch and swapped my weapon back in as soon as my shield was down. He's really easy, a weak melee attack and a weak shadowbolt that you can kick/gouge.

29 warlock and 29priest - VW tanks Morben, one of the adds Shackled, others two killed. just keep Morben under Curse of tongues,
Since my Voidwalker has 1800hp, he can survive some time against morbent =P
(if you affliction warlock u can drain mana as much as possible to force Morbent melee)

Soloed this as lvl 29 paladin. Took turns in taking his adds out and when i could get to him on his own it was just an endurance battle before he went down... Chucked a lesser mana potion was all

Solo'd as a 35 feral druid:

Use bear form, I took out the 4 adds and then it was simply a matter of outlasting Morbent Fel. Switch out to heal and use cat form when you can, switch to bear if you are taking too much damage. It was a long fight, but not difficult.

Hint: You can use a 2h weapon and have the "Morbents Bane" in your Inventory. Dont make the same mistake i did and try to lvl your Weapon skill with a 1h weapon just so u can use the bane in your off hand... dosnt work. And its a waiste of time.

Soloed as a 29 feral druid in bear form. The trick was to focus on the adds first, and use line of sight for morbent's casting (i used either side of the doorway to block sight). I died once on the first pull with all 3 adds, but had finished off 1 of the mobs before I died. Came back with just 2 adds and morbent, used line of sight again until the adds were dead, then finished him off. Used 1 health pot, but probably didn't need it.

he is a problem to kill on your own,

there are 3 mobs downstairs,
2 opposite the door,
1 next to the stairs

then another mob at the top of the stairs

then Morbent Fel with 3 mobs in the next room

Soloed this at level 30 as a shaman, you need a one hand mace and need to be enchancment with 5 points in Flurry and windfury on you're weapon. You may die once or twice killing the mobs to clear it but once you do, hes a snap and a spank and tank just heal always with the lesser wave and Earth shock when he casts and you'll be fine.

Soloed as a 30 Shadow Priest, died once. Before dying, took out one of the adds, and after rezzing took out the rest before taking on Mordent. While facing him one on one, I wanded the whole time and threw up a shield and healed when my health grew low.

Sorry to be tardy to the party at level 36 BUT fairly simple as a solo warrior. Just Retaliation, Thunderclap and Cleave spam while focusing on Morbent, use your Fire Hardened Hauberk if you're still wearing it, and above absolutely everything else, remember that you can swap weapons and shields in battle.

After taking out the undead at the top of the stairs, I switch out my shield for Morbent's Bane. It has a coldown after swapping so don't charge in right away! You can LOS his spells between Shield Bashes with the walls. I used a health pot but wasn't in any great danger.

soloed it as a 31 lvl pally.pulled and killed his guards one at a time and then faced Morbent.used hammer of justice and divine protection to heal myself.quite easy!:)

I was dreading this, but easily soloed it as a 34 hunter (after dying my first try, tried to take him out first). You _must_ kill his 3 associates first, Fel himself doesn't pack much of a punch. (YMMV, obviously most things're easier as a hunter, especially if you have "Gift of the Naaru")

soloed on a level 32 rogue...very easy.
pull guard upstairs and kill
walk in stealthed into morbies room, he will see through your stealth but thats ok it will give you a second to use the offhand quest item, which you should have on your hotbar.
do your thing on morbent, heis quite easy without his aura, use evasion if necessary, I only lost 30% of my hp.

2.3 changes...

Not nearly as much trash in the house. Theres like one on his floor now. Not the 6 or so there used to be.

Also, it could be that my hunter puts out more DPS than my warrior did last time I ran this quest, but Morbent Fel himself does seem weaker than he was prepatch.

This quest used to be a challenge to solo. Not anymore.

Soloed him as a level 27 Hunter with pet with no problem. Pet at full Health and I had about 287 left when he died. Cleared his guards too. Definitely tough before patch, now....not so much.

The quest is now really easy.Go in 17.33 in Raven Hill .You will have to kill 3 mobs that are seperate in the house.Then just go close to him and use Morbent's Bane.This will remove his shield and make him a non-elite mob.Really easy to kill :)

This guy was easier compared to the other "de-elited" bosses in Duskwood....Eliza and Stalvan still hit like trucks (though still soloable, just somewhat of a pain!).

This guy was a piece of cake after you deactivate his shield. Lol, at first I forgot to do that and my group and I were getting rocked. By the time I remembered to use it and the cool down was done, one of my group was dead and the other was running and we had barely scratched him. The weapon took him down to about 70% life and I rocked him in a few seconds as a lvl 30 mage with a few fireballs and fire blast. You can definitely solo this!

3 mobs outside the house, 1 on first floor, 1 on second floor, guarding morbids room.
Morbid is a 32 elite. He has a paladin-like bubble, which makes all your attacks be "immune". Being a caster (spriest) i killed all mobz on my way up, equipped quest item, waited till global cd on it will be gone and started on Morbid. First of all - use quest item and after that nuke with all powers. That dude bited dust in less than a minute. Btw, after using a quest item he turns into non-elite and he is a mage, casting shadow bolts lol.

I just soloed this on my 27 Shaman. Pull the adds and kill them quick. Pull the las add from upstairs onto the stairs. Smack-Up Morbent and use the bane. Needed 1 Heal Pot and Gift of Naru, but I beat him down.

Not much help for people here, but I soloed him as a 43 Pally without
much trouble - it just took a long time and a couple heals. I wasn't on
the quest - just went in the house out of curiosity, so I didn't have the
Bane item, and couldn't unbubble him. This was recent - there were
maybe 3 adds downstairs, but none in the room behind him.

morbent fel is in the northeastern-most house in raven hill (shows up on the map). loc is ~ 17, 33.

THERE ARE NO ADDS as of patch 2.3.0. there are mobs in the house but you can carefully kill them all without aggroing anything.

as a lvl 32 caster he goes down quite easily without the bubble (otherwise he is all but impossible to kill). i soloed him as a 29 shadow priest.

It was very very easy to pull of. I was a level 31 paladin. The first time i did it wrong and forgot to rightclick on the bane, but i did almost kill him, he was down to 16% health.
I tried again and it was extremely easy when the shield was down.
When i saw him, i remembered that I had in fact already killed him once before without having the quest. :)

Easy to do:
Equip the bane and rightcklick on it when you attack him. As soon as its been done you only have to use whatever weapon you prefer and slaughter him. He falls to the floor like a little girl.

I soloed this quest as a 29 Destro lock with Wandering Plague & Plague Mind on me, along with waiting for the 3 min cd to use the bane. This is a very easy quest. I did not die 1x. I used NO healing pots or any pots, for that matter. Btw, you can pull all the adds 1 by 1. I used my VW and while he held the aggro I blasted him with Shadow Bolt While I was waitinng for the cd to wear off, so I could use the bane on him. Then he was easy as pie.

Definately easymode now; the item nerfs him down to a L32 non-elite and as a caster he's very squishy and easy to dispatch.

u just get into bear form let him give u some damage (casts very slow spell) then get out of bear form and heal u self untill he has no more mana and u just pawn him i ín cat form

i soloed this one as a lvl 29 priest, if you just kill the other mobs in the bottom floor, and take them ona at a time, its easy, and killing him is a lot easier after u use the bane. i was lucky and my bonfire blessing (midsummer buff) kicked in, taking 260 health!

With the bane, this guy is pathetic and should die in the matter of seconds. "Solo" or not you shouldn't be proud of killing him.

Agreed, this guy is pathetic. I have a dual-sword combat rogue, he was level 34 admittedly, but I got the keys screwed up and couldn't even get my secondary sword back into the off-hand. So I took him down with only one sword, I'm sure if I had gotten the dual wield working it would have been even easier.

i killed him with my 29 dwarf warrior. it helped that i had a bottle of potion, all i did was removed his shield spell. put a rend on him, so hed bleed. kept hitting him with sunder and critical hit. and when he blocked it got to get a free hit lol. only pain is when he freezes you, but, finally took him down with 10 hit points left...

You can take each guard individually, and then just run upstairs, remove his shield, and own him. He tried casting a spell but I just used counter-spell so he pretty much had to melee me for the short fight. This guy is cake.

He was Very hard on my druid called swampster he kinder dodged most of my attacks but i killed him alone even tho i am 38 it was still a hard challendge for me exipessily being balce spec but i killed him!

Accidentally soloed him as a 32 elite on my 30 Paladin. Was quite easy.

Unfortunately I had to wait for him to respawn and actually kill him while using Morbent's Bane... I forgot the first time around.

Extremely easy. In patch 3.0.2 when there are no adds u can kill the mob that is in front morbent from stairs with ranged pulling then stealth, distract him, ambush and dps dps dps unless he casts presence of death. Then kick him.

I did this quest 3 times...first time with the help of a lvl 70 friend, nothing happened, went back again a few days later solo kill as 36 still nothing when back a third time as 37 killed him easy but this time I used the weapon they give, finally got done with the quest. You must use the Morbent's bane on him or it doesn't count'

Soloed as a level 29 paladin, was really easy, waste the guards with exorcism and then go for Morbent, use the wand on him to really weaken him and then just spam Judgment of Light, it will keep you healed as you fight Morbent as well. I didn't have to heal once.

Soloed at level 33 with pet. I had very little trouble.

I was lucky, because someone else had just killed him and the surrounding guards, so I only had to deal with one of the guards.

Located at 17,33.
Pretty simple, soloed as a level 27 ret paladin.

Started off by clearing the mobs inside the house.

Morbent is located up the stairs in the room to the left.
He is an elite mob with roughly 3300 hp. This changes.

Equip the quest item off-hand you recieve on accepting the quest, and right click to use it on Morbent.

He will drop into a weakend state with about 1000hp. Doesnt hit very hard, roughly 34-40 on mail. Does a 6 second stun, but deactivates when you are attacked. He also does a touch of death, a small 30 damage spell.

Very easy, soloable.

What used to be a tough quest you'd want a group (or at least a partner) for has now become rather easy. No more hordes of guards in the top section of the house. The last time I did this quest there was simply one on the bottom floor and one up top. The quest is now very soloable.

Just did this as a lvl 27 Paly, not too difficult, per se, but tedious fight because if you can't kill him fast enough he heals up, I had to self heal a couple of times and just keep wearing away at him, even without the bubble.

Solo'd this with a level 27 Pally. was not hard at all. Use the tool they give you to take off his sheild and then just start attacking him, I had to use Lay of hands and holy light, but it wasnt hard at all.

Make sure you take out the mobs before attacking Morbent though.

If you're not sure you can do this alone, try carrying a Shadow Protection Potion. I used one a little into the fight, and took practically no damage until he died. The above tip for using the offhand to weaking him is still entirely valid. The pot is just for extra insurance.

I did this with a lvl 36 demonology warlock. I first wasted time killing him without using morbents bane. Then I realized that I HAD to use the item on him and tried again. This time I sent in my pet, switched back to my bind-to-account staff and just mana drained him while my fel hunter chomped on him. Still did not complete the quest. I then waited AGAIN for him to spawn and equipped the morbents bane again. This time I sent in my pet, used the item, and just wanded him to death. You MUST attack him, mana drain does not count as an attack! Finally completed.

If you were going back to do this quest for Alliance city reps, this quest no longer awards 125 across the board. It gives 500 Stormwind rep + spillover.

On another note, when you're doing other quests around this house, don't AoE too close to the back of it, the whole house is permeable... I was killing skeletons for the pre-quest, AoE'd at the back of the house and pulled Morbent Fel.

Ouch.

Like some others, I have a 2 hand weapon and screwed it up the first time around. Since they removed the adds and made this quest easier to solo, hopefully this helps:

Remove 2 handed weapon and equip Morbent's Bane
Click on Morbent Fel
Click on equipped Morbent's Bane
Blue glow around him disappears and he becomes "Weakened Morbent Fel"
Equip your regular weapon and easily kill him.
