Use Coarse Thread, Red Dye, and Blue Dye with a Darkmoon Banner Kit to make a Darkmoon Banner, then set it up in a pile of Loose Stones on the grounds of the Darkmoon Faire.

Description

Isn't it wonderful to see Darkmoon banners everywhere? It's my favorite part of setting up, but we have so many old and tattered ones that need to be replaced.

If you've some skill with a needle and thread, would you mind making a banner from this kit and putting it up in some loose stones scattered around the grounds of the faire?

It's missing a few pieces, but you should be able to get what you need from any trade goods vendor in Elwynn Forest or Mulgore.

the profession quests that grant skill points ARE repeatable, but would only grant skill points like once a week or so...

There is no NPC named Faldar Willowshade to buy general goods from. On PTR this quest dialogue instead states that you should be able to purchase the needed items from a general goods vendor in Stormwind or Mulgore, which you should of course do prior to attending the faire to save yourself a trip.

To complete the quest you'll need one Coarse Thread, one Red Dye. and one Blue Dye. Then simply use the Darkmoon Banner Kit the quest provided you with to craft a Darkmoon Banner. Walk around the faire you'll eventually see some Loose Stones. Use the Darkmoon Banner to plant it in the Loose Stones and then you're all set to go turn in the quest.

Loose stones are along the edge of the main path, primarily in the grass. If you zoom in and look along the sides of the path, you should see them sparkling nearby.

You can purchase Coarse Thread, Red Dye, and Blue Dye from the Trade Supplies Tharynn Bouden vendor outside the DMF Portal in Elwynn Forest.

Like all of the other new Darkmoon Faire profession quests, this quest requires you to have a minimum of 75 skill points in the skill before you can accept it.

One of the new patch 4.3 Darkmoon Faire profession quests, you must have at least 75 skill in Tailoring to see this quest.

Requires 1 Coarse Thread, 1 Red Dye and 1 Blue Dye which cannot be bought on Darkmoon Island so remember to bring some with you.

The profession quests can only be completed once during each Darkmoon Faire and will grant 5 skill points.

The nearest vendors to the Darkmoon Faire portals are Kuruk (H), Innkeeper Farley (A) for the Moonberry Juice and Shadi Mistrunner (H), Tharynn Bouden (A) for all the other trade goods. You'll have to collect the fossil fragments yourself. If you forgot to bring your fishing rod with you, Tatia Brine on Darkmoon Island sells fishing supplies.

For the Horde, if you forgot to pick up the Blue Dye, Red Dye, and Coarse Thread for this quest, run to the end of the Faire towards the sea to access a port back to Mulgore. Fly into Thunder Bluff and /tar Mahu (43.8,44.6) who is NW of the giant totem stairs containing the flight point in the center of Thunder Bluff.

The profession quests can only be completed once during each Darkmoon Faire and will grant 5 skill points.

I have enchanting (420) and tailoring (415) and I was able to do these quests on two consecutive days. However on the third day they didn't appear for me... sad panda.

Maybe just a happy glitch for me? ^_^

Even if you done the primary profession quests that week, if you drop a profession during Darkmoon Faire week, you can do the quests for the profession that you pick up as well. Even rewarding the achievement Faire Favors without completing one of the secondary skill quests such as Archaeology or Fishing.

Possibly means that if your toon has no professions you could conceivably do the quest for every primary profession each month, awarding you with 36 Darkmoon Prize Tickets instead of just 8. (Assuming you're willing to get each profession to 75 and really really want the tickets right meow.)

You can place a banner on top of a position where someone else had already placed the banner. However, this will make your quest item to disappear without you completing the quest. Resulting in that you have to go and get new materials for your banner. And abandoning the quest.

Also, if for some reason you did not do last month's monthly quest (changed profession in the middle, for example), the monthly reset happens with first daily reset during when the Faire is open. For simplicity; During the Saturday-Sunday night before dailies are reset, you can do last month's.. monthlies.

I can't reply to posts yet, so for those asking/wondering, this quest still exists as of 5.0.4. I got it from the darkmoon faire information guy at the front of the faire entrance (on the island, not the portal)

Finally found some loose stones. They weren't sparkling which made them trickier to find for me. Justkeep an eye open for a small group of stones, they should say "Loose Stones" if you mouse over them, then use your banners, and voila!

If you forget to bring the dye and thread, Alliance can just go to the NPC Tharynn Bouden in Goldshire, who's directly in front of the portal on the other side of a cart when you use the dock portal out of Darkmoon Faire.

I can not complete this quest I have made the banner and then put it in the stones but never says completed. I keep abandoning and redoing it but still wont work does anyone know why?

You have to have the ingredients for this quest in your bags, can't keep them in the reagents tab of your bank.
