Find Bits of Glass around the grounds of the Darkmoon Faire and craft it into 5 Sparkling 'Gemstones'.

Description

The Darkmoon Faire's performers and animals go through more jewelry than I'd ever imagined. Thankfully, the gems are just cut glass, but someone has to craft all of it.

If you've some skill as a jewelcrafter, perhaps you'd be willing to help craft some of the sparkling glass gems for our performers.

Sometimes you can find odd and amazing bits of glass around the grounds. Those make stunning gems when cut by someone with an eye for this craft.

This is one of the new profession quests added with the darkmoon faire with 4.3. It is only available to Jewelcrafters and it awards +5 jewelcrafting skill, so it won't be a bad way to level it up.

the profession quests that grant skill points ARE repeatable, but would only grant skill points like once a week or so...

If you have problem finding these sparkling gemstones, they are all over the island green sparking stones on ground.

The 5 skill ups work even at the highest level. I just levelled to 534 with my Draenei racial bonus. Really cheap final push for profession levellers, if the Faire is around.

One of the new patch 4.3 Darkmoon Faire profession quests, you must have at least 75 skill in Jewelcrafting to see this quest.

This quest requires no additional items, simply collect and use Bit of Glass found on Darkmoon Island.

The profession quests can only be completed once during each Darkmoon Faire and will grant 5 skill points.

The nearest vendors to the Darkmoon Faire portals are Kuruk (H), Innkeeper Farley (A) for the Moonberry Juice and Shadi Mistrunner (H), Tharynn Bouden (A) for all the other trade goods. You'll have to collect the fossil fragments yourself. If you forgot to bring your fishing rod with you, Tatia Brine on Darkmoon Island sells fishing supplies.

Quest starter:
Chronos which has been moved to the island and can be found at 55.0x / 70.5y.

For those without coordinates:
Follow the main road until you find Lhara near a shop on the right side. Ride in the direction she's facing by default behind the large tent until you meet Chronos. He'll start your quest.

Also he offers a +5 first aid quest.

The quest items you'll have to collect then look like green, broken glass bottles.

It should be noted, all profession quests located at the faire require skill level 75 in that profession before you can see the repeatable monthly quests.

Even if you done the primary profession quests that week, if you drop a profession during Darkmoon Faire week, you can do the quests for the profession that you pick up as well. Even rewarding the achievement Faire Favors without completing one of the secondary skill quests such as Archaeology or Fishing.

Possibly means that if your toon has no professions you could conceivably do the quest for every primary profession each month, awarding you with 36 Darkmoon Prize Tickets instead of just 8. (Assuming you're willing to get each profession to 75 and really really want the tickets right meow.)

If Adamantite Ore is in short supply on your server, then this quest is a great way to level JC from 345 to 350. The cheapest alternative requires 5x Adamantite Bar and 5x Mercurial Adamantite

~~I just noticed that if you have JC on 521/525 or more you will not get this quest offered from him, because of the 5 skill ups. So you have to up those the old way.~~
EDIT: It seems it is a bug from Blizzards side, quoting GM: We are aware of an issue in which the Darkmoon Faire quests did not reset properly. We are currently working on a hotfix that we will apply to all realms as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

I've done this quest before, but tonight none of the green glass bits are interactive. My ticket log is blank but I've submitted too many tickets, so I came here to mention it. I logged out & in, but no luck. Ditto with clearing cache, then logging out & back in. Damn, I could use the extra 5 Jewelcrafting points, but no go.

I acquired all 5 pieces of glass, but have no idea on how to transform them into the faux gems? There isn't any sort of tab in my professions or anything. Is anyone else having trouble or am I just too much of a noob? lol
