For information, you have to destroy "Tonk Targets" and not the other tanks! Took me about 4 games to understand it...

You will need a Darkmoon Game Token to play any Darkmoon Games.

You can earn a token by turning in a quest, or you can simply buy 20 tokens for 1g 92s at level 85 (1g80s if you're exalted from before or if you're a goblin) by buying the Sack'O Tokens !
The price of the sack depends on your level (57s 60c to a player level 67 for example) !

These tokens are used to play the following games :

- It's Hammer Time
- The Humanoid Cannonball (obtainable achievement : Blastenheimer Bullseye)
- He Shoot, He Scores! (obtainable achievement : Quick Shot)
- Tonk Commander
- Target: Turtle

I loved this game. This might be the only one I'll keep playing for fun.

I found that keeping moving if you are marked by the enemy is more important than trying to nitroboost your way out of danger. It'll be interesting to see what other's think.

You can also leave the game area with your tonk if you are so incined. I was running around the fair shooting at people's feet. If the timer ends while you are still exploring with your tonk, it puts your character where the tonk was when the timer expired. So, my character got put near the port when it ended.

Actually, there was a video game called tank commander in the early 1980s that was briefly very popular. It used two joy sticks, to maneuver the tank, and I think only one had a fire button. It was barely ahead of Pong, graphically.

You'll hear a sort of 'ping' noise if you get targeted by another tonk - when that happens hit your speed boost and run around like a maniac, this should stop your tonk from being hit and ending the game. As with all the other games your score carries over, but it can get tedious being killed repeatedly during busy times.

You don't have to point the front of your Tonk at the targets to aim.

Drive through the targets and hit '1' when they're behind you. The will auto aim at the closest one behind you. (Which sometimes is another Tonk). Just drive around spamming '1' AFTER you pass the target you want to kill and you should get 30 easy with only one game token.

Keep moving and you shouldn't have to use Nitro-Boost while you're 'Marked'.

The targets are the easy stationary bullseyes.
Never needed speed boost and just kept moving.
The tonk shoots ones in front of you, and ones behind you after passing them.

Unlike most dailies, the dailys for the booth games give absolutely no experience. Which is why you get no gold from completing them.

You can't level up your lowbies by doing these dailys.

EDIT: Now in 5.0.4, although they still give no experience, they count as level appropriate quests for 60,000 guild exp each time you complete them.

Sometimes the targets don't get destroyed when you shoot at them. They still give credit as a hit though, and you can keep shooting at them until they are destroyed. One target can give you as much as 3 or 4 points.

Is it only me or anyone else is getting annoyed couse when you get tonk you are facing the npc instead of the field and it its really complicated to turn with your mouse?

One Ticket Tactics - Never stop moving

All of the Darkmoon Faire daily games can be completed on a single ticket. Different games require more skill or luck to achieve this one ticket goal.

In "Tonk Commander", the key techniques are:

Once the game is started, hold down both mouse buttons constantly to keep moving. Drive from one target to the next.
Tap the "1" key to fire constantly. Don't aim as the system will automatically aim at the nearest target (or tank) even if it's behind you.
Avoid driving into the Zeppelin's firing path if at all possible. The Zeppelin isn't able to track a moving target, but if you drive into the shell's path, it's game over.
Drive through the targets. It's faster and more accurate.
Don't worry about enemy tonks. As long as you're moving, they won't be able to hit you.

The one ticket success rate of this game is highly dependent on where the targets randomly occur. If they're spaced out badly, you won't be able to complete this in one ticket. If you have to blow a second ticket, after reaching the 30 pt total needed to win, drive up behind the Zeppelin and blast it out of the sky (will take 4-5 shots). There's no bonus for doing this, just the satisfaction of revenge.

After some experimenting, I've found that players get targets that are phased for just that player. However, it is possible to 'steal' another player's targets. If you're prone to drive around spamming '1' then you've likely noticed situations when the tank seems to hit nothing, or misses a target, but you still get credit. The reality is you got credit for hitting another player's target.

If you see a lot of other players in the area working on the quest, just spam '1' and you'll likely get some invisible targets from time to time. If you're the only one, it'll never happen.

I tested this by playing the game while a friend sat next to me and played on his laptop early in the morning. Our target set up was clearly different and when I hit an invisible target, one on his screen disappeared.

Not sure if it's just me, but as of the latest patch 5.0.4 the clouds of smoke on hitting a target are so large that it's impossible to see anything else on the screen. Luckily I came to the simple solution of zooming out as far as possible and doing it from a bird's eye view. It's much easier to track where you're going without being bothered by the now enormous smoke clouds.

If you're having trouble actually seeing anything due to all of the smoke you get from destroying targets like I was, go to your System > Graphics options and turn Particle Density to low.

Just to make it clear - in my experience it doesn't even matter if you're actually shooting the targets specifically, just running them down gives you credit. I spam one the entire time and drive with my mouse and I virtually NEVER have to spend more than one ticket.

Until I learned you just run them over, I don't think I ever once one-ticketed this game.

Green tonks and the zeppelin can also (mainly?) be aggresive when you hit them instead of the targets.

There are two battle pets related to this game, Darkmoon Tonk and Darkmoon Zeppelin.

Patch 6.1 adds a new achievement, . To complete you will need to score 45 hits in one session of the Tonk Commander given by Finlay Coolshot during the Darkmoon Faire.

To play the game, you will need 1 Darkmoon Game Token.
