Kurzel's been with us fer years. You'd think she'd get a feel fer how we do things by now. Lure the fools in fer the dangerous work, then reap the rewards when it's safe. What's so hard to understand?

Not her though... impatient green-skin goes off and takes matters into her own hands. Probably dead by now, but I'd feel horrible if we didn't follow after her, and I'm in no shape to do it myself - hic.

So whatdya say, pal?

I forgot to do this one with my group to Drak'Tharon.
However, this is soloable as a feral druid, the casters are no problem at all and the melee's are manageable. They both have 42.5k hp but they're stunnable... so just bash, maim, whatever and shift out to cast a heal or two and put a cyclone in between.

Easy way to do it solo is by simply using a ranged atack to break the webs while not in aggro range until you find Kurzel in one of the webs.

However its quite pointless to "solo" it, because you will need to kill the second boss in order to complete the quest and get some nice blue bracers. So once you go in with a proper party to clear the instance, you can complete both quests.

Confirmed it's possible to solo as a rogue.

Simply have your vanish ready before you break a web.

More FYI on soloing this quest, particularly for classes who can't stealth:

1) There's a water area in the NW corner of the map that you can jump into to evade mobs. I cleared the first three packs and then just ran through the pack @ the first stairs and jumped into the water. They may still cast @ you, but there are some wooden beams in the water that allow you to LOS.

1a) The Risen Drakkari Soulmages are the ones who cast the void zones that hurt a whole lot. Keep an eye out for void zones when engaging them.

2) Trollgore leashes. He won't go into the spider room. Wait for some trolls to visit him, and then run past him and into the spider room.

3) Once in the spider room, you may have to deal with spiders. @ around 30% health the spiders will run away and bring back a bunch of babies. Have AoE and damage mitigation ready. Don't pop cooldowns till they've come back, or well before 30%.

Decided to be cheap when I tried to solo / duo this quest. 80 fury warrior + 80 resto druid. We quickly gave up on the idea to kill our way to the spiders, too bothersome and not enough dps. So the druid stealthed there, and warrior took some lesser invisibility pots. Luckily there were 3 pots, cause the first pot ran out in the middle of the first gauntlet but luckily no one aggroed. The second pot took him to the beginning of the stairs at the first boss, but not past There I hid on the left side, there's plenty of room there. My first plan was to wait in the doorway between the gauntlet and the tiny room before the first boss. The third one was more than enough to get to the spider room door where we cleared the non elite spiders. Then we just shot down the cocoons with ranged until Kurzel got out (the web on the left fortunately) Talked to her and then hearthed out.

I recommend that you bring at least 3 pots when doing this, and preferably the 18 sec kind. We had cleared the first two mobs, if we hadn't the 15 sec pot wouldn't have been anywhere near enough on it's own at the gauntlet. Even if you get the 18 sec kind I'm not so sure you can make it. Some kind of speed enchanting would be great.

If you're lower than 80 I doubt you could stop anywhere in the gauntlet without aggroing.

Note: It's the right passage after the gauntlet that leads to the boss and spider room right after

Did another stealth run with my warrior (for the lunar festival) and brought 18 second invisibility pots and a run speed enchant on boots. I barely made it past the gauntlet, and that was with using my lower aggro radius to get really close to the first group. And I'd say it's necessary to trigger the mobs at the end of the gauntlet with a stealthy, cause if we hadn't done that I would have unstealth in the middle of them running down the stairs. Managed to get to the spider room (even past it) with just 2 invisibility potions

easy peasy. i did have to try each web and vanish, she came out on the last one. sap and vanish and stealth = win.

I picked-up this quest at level 74 on my feral druid and tried following the advice here on how to solo this. What a crock the advice turns out to be and then, I come back to see if I missed something and lo and behold the people who say they've soloed this quest don't bother to mention what level they were at when they did the quest (that would have been useful). The only people who do mention this were level 80 which makes this quest a breeze I'm sure.

With the room's physical structure, I don't see how any class (at level 74) can solo this quest---it just cannot be done without aggroing the elite spiders (more than one will attack you no matter what angle you try to attack the coccoons from). There's absolutely no way to hit the coccoons at a distance from a safe place and no way is there enough time to get away from the elites once they spot you---they're just too fast.

Someone else suggested waiting until you group this quest (and other ZD quests) and after trying what's been suggested here that's exactly what I plan to do.

I made an account just to type this because I love how wowhead offers good advice on how to solo quests:

Mage 76 with arcane spec (instant invis) can solo this relatively easily. Takes about 10 minutes - you don't have to die once.

Frost nova + blink past the first 2 mobs, invis when you hit the next group and go up the stairs. Stop in the doorway, wait 2 minutes.

Invis while walking into the next room. Up the stairs past the boss and wait again in the doorway.

You are now facing the spider room.

Blast open an egg or two and then invis --> walk back to doorway.

Repeat until you find the quest mob.

Once found, run up to mob, ice block, finish quest, invis back to doorway.

Voila, piece of cake :)

Where do you turn this quest in? Its obviously not the NPC who gives it to you? My log says that its complete, but I have no idea where I'm supposed to go to turn it in. Has anybody else had this problem?

I solo this quest as 75 druid.
- stealth all the way to the egg section
- go directly to the egg facing the entry and go far as possible to the back of the egg
- no needs to kill mods

I am having exactly the same problem. The quest says that it should be handed into Mack Fearsen in Granite Springs. My Quest Log says that I have completed it (and I definitely remember doing it) but both Quest Helper and the ingame Quest tracker don't show anything and Mack doesn't seem to want to take it. I have raised a ticket about the problem, I just came here to see if anyone else had this too.

Awesome thing happened to me today. Asked my group politely if they would mind if I cracked open some webs to do the quest (non-heroic instance) and the tank... of course a Blood Elf DK, said only if it was shareable. I told him it wasn't and he said no. I cracked open some webs anyway and the other members of the group helped me while the tank went to the next room. After that, the tank pulls Novos and tells us that we have to find a new tank, then leaves. His argument was that we wasted his time... it took about 30 seconds to find the NPC for the quest.

I swear, there needs to be an age limit to play this game.

I forgot all about this quest while running Drak'tharon. After the last boss was killed, I remembered it and ran back to find Kurzel. Found her on third try of webbed victims; as an 80 the first two things that came out were no problem to solo even though the rest of the group had left. The corpse of the Summoner boss in the next room conveniently enough did not despawn while we were running the rest of the dungeon, so I was able to complete the next quest with the rag, so even if you have to go back after everyone has left the quests can still be completed.

Patch 4.3 moved the quest givers into Northrend and Outland dungeons. That move affected this quest.

Kurzel is now found at the beginning of the dungeon and not in the cocoons.

Drak'Tharon Keep quests, as well as the quests from Granite Springs, are available at level 73. You can do Kurzel's quest to dip the cloth into the boss remains--which used to be the follow up--first. Once you do the Granite Springs quests, up to and including the Seared Scourge quest (initial; the daily isn't required), this quest becomes available. It can be completed by simply walking into the instance and talking to Kurzel, who is kneeling right inside the entrance. The entrance to the instance is just north of where you get the quest, making this a nice, quick chunk of XP and 171 blue ring. Enjoy.
