Very simple fight for ranged; don't let him touch you or you will be 1-shotted (and by touch, I mean don't get within melee range)

For melee however, you can't get within melee range either. Catch 22? There isn't any. If you have ranged abilities, that's all you can use to take him down. Thankfully his HP is low enough that many melee can beat him. If you're a warrior (like myself) then good luck and /pray because... well you're gunna die!

Anyone got any advice for pure melee classes?

As a fury warrior I feel like Blizzard's designers are sadists. My Die by The Sword won't help me out enough and trying to DPS it from behind doesn't matter, he autoswings oneshots anyway. Too small hitbox to hit and run.

For enhancement shamans this one isn't bad, no need to respec. Just pop fire elemental, wolves, and ascendance. When ascendance ends you'll have to spam lightning bolt until he's dead. He only has 6mil HP so it's not too much to burn through.

For pure melee I have no idea what you'd do. As far as I can tell he one-shots you no matter if you approach him from the front or the back.

You need to fish for Impeccably Sharp Tooth in pools around Pandaria. This will start Razorgrin allowing you to purchase Challenge Card: Razorgrin. Go talk to Ben of the Booming Voice in Valley of the Four Winds to get a location on the daily fishing pools and you will catch the tooth in no time at all!

This is a Rank 5 fight and although it's "just" a huge shark spawned on land, Razorgrin has definitely earned his title <Terror of the High Seas>. Flopping around on the ground, Razorgrin will slowly move his way towards you, eager and desperate to sink a mouth full of teeth into your flesh. A shark away from the comfortable depths of the ocean, how menacing and terrorfying could he be? Well, the shark has been menacing and terrorfying in waters (for over a decade!), and since patch 5.3, clearly, above waters as well. A single bite will be the end of you. This is a relatively easy fight for ranged, but melee have to utilize every bit of trickery and ranged ability in the arsenal, and even at that, the enrage timer will be very close for most. Note: Recent hotfixes has made this significantly easier for melee, as you can now attack Razorgrin from the back.

I'm really sorry to hear about the issue you've been having with defeating Razorgrin.

I looked around and I do see a lot of players talking about the same thing when it comes to defeating him as a Warrior. Some people said you might be able to do it if you switch specs you *might* be able to do it, though you will probably die. A lot.

I can definitely submit some feedback though to see if this is something that the devs are going to be changing at any point, because it seems unfair to entirely prevent a melee class from progressing in the Brawlers guild. Sorry I didn;t have any more information for you, but I wish you the best of luck!

So now Blizzard knows the impossibility of this doggone fight as a Warrior.

EDIT: As of June 11th, 2013, this fight has been fixed, and his tail is safe from melee attacks. Thank you Shady27 for the mention -- upvoted for that.

I found a way to kill Razorgrin as a warrior! And no it does NOT involve cheesing it with the Dagger glitch! I understand I'm going to get down voted like crazy but I encourage you to discover it, just know that its possible WITHOUT using the dagger junk. Hint: it involves an item you get from one of the Pandaria rare spawns. Yes its possible for Warriors (or any melee class). I'll be checking back multiple times a day to check and update if no one else can figure it out, because I love helping the Wowhead community, but this one is fun to figure out yourself.
I should also add that after discovering the use of this item during the fight, it is 1000% guaranteed Blizzard did not design the fight for it, its still very much broken, but it is now possible.

Edit 5/29/2013:
It has to do with him completely losing all aggro on you. It does not bug him out, its what the item was intended for. Its not an exploit or anything against the ToS. It is an item obtained from a Mogu-type rare. And thank you for the immediate down votes, not everything in this game should be a google-search away when it will 100% get patched by Blizzard and because it works on more than just Razorgrin, then no warrior will be able to kill razorgrin, since I'm sure they will never fix this fight. I'm trying to help without ruining your long-term chances of keeping this item from being patched.

- Yes its Shard of Archstone, and no its NOT a bug or exploit or whatever is already being assumed by the below commenter, which is why I was reluctant to share information on it, and to avoid someone posting false info in a ticket to get the item patched. It works as intended, and if anyone has figured out how to use it for this fight, you probably feel very satisfied :-) . The level of impatience is a little off putting to someone trying to help, without ruining an item for others. Maybe someone may legitimately understand why I didn't spam the strategy I used with this item all over the place, because we all know what happens when you find niche ways of doing things that Blizzard didn't design it for.

You'll see from my high rated posts on other 5.3 Brawlers Guild bosses that I'm here to help, not yank your chain or confuse anyone, I'd love nothing more than to see every Warrior beat Razorgrin.

For Balance druids-please note that FoN treants will occupy him for about 10 seconds so if you summon them 1 by 1 it should last you the entire fight. be aware that they don't appear to take aggro from you so if you approach him in melee he will murderize you.

Also if you are using a Bad juju trinket(summons voodoo gnomes) those will cause him to slow down too.

Mirror images are nigh-useless on this fight as they all disperse within 3 seconds of him coming in contact with them.

I was just thinking about this today. As a Rogue, I don't have Shuriken Toss. I'm thinking of speccing into it to see if I can kill him that way... Since every time I'm in melee range, he owns me. :(

Just confirming the Shard of Archstone does in fact work to exploit it. "Killed" this last night on my warrior.

My first attempt I had dropped combat mid fight using Salyin Battle Banner in order to activate the Shard of Archstone, but that ended in me getting kicked out of the arena.

However, if you activate Shard of Archstone as soon as you enter the arena, Razorgrin will walk up to you and kill you, but not despawn. The next player sent into the arena will have to deal with both their boss and Razorgrin at the same time.

I assume killing either boss will award both players credit for their fight, but I had a guild mate start up a Bruce fight and just kill Razorgrin.

Hopefully a few warriors can get this done before they nerf another method ^_~

As a mistweaver monk I was able to get him with Crackling Jade Lightning, Chi Wave and Xuen the White Tiger. Xuen keeps Razorgrin in place without killing him letting you get free Lightnings off. When Xuen despawns just keep running to the corners and keep chi wave up. Got him right as the berserk started.

For warriors trying creative solutions, Cardboard Assassin will taunt him but you end up dead anyway since he seems to bite in all directions.

i have 1 suggestion for warriors. it requires some prep. i don't know if it works thou. spec into imp whirlwind then go to BWL and get the rage buff from the second boss. hearth back (if you still keep the buff) run like hell to the brawlers guild. hopefully nobody is inside. que and spam the hell out of whirlwind making sure your within 10 yards but no closer than 9. im running out of ideas. u can tell.

Stay behind Razorgrin the entire fight and you'll never take a hit from his teeth-of-death like before! Now it really is a properly ranked fight! Now all you warriors go get your Razorgrin kill!

Quite do-able fight for rangers with pets. I did it on my frost mage (513 GS). Just kite him around, blink and cast spells. He is moving reasonably slow and very predictable. Mirror images are quite handy to distract him if u need to make a big turn:)

Did this today as a hunter and it was the easiest fight ever. He just went round in a tight circle trying to get my pet, must me a bug because all I had to do was stand there and nuke him, didn't have to move at all!

Just beat this on my warrior, an easy way to keep him from moving and only rotating is to get behind him and stand right on the edge of his hit box then move exclusively with your mouse so you can follow the contour of the hit-box, then you just move a bit every time he rotates and you should be able to stay behind him without much effort.

As long as you hug him and follow the contour of his hitbox, he will only rotate and not actually move around, so its easier to stay behind him since he acts like a sit-and-spin.

Just the middle finger for this fight. I fight him as melee (feral), deal my damage when ALWAYS rain of fire starts to flood the arena before I can kill him, resulting in insta-killing me. I AM A MELEE CLASS GODDAMNIT AND NEED TO TURN HIM 180° WHICH NEEDS SOME TIME, BLIZZARD !

It's goddamn hard enough to "play safe" when ONE hit can kill me to make extra-sure that I don't &*!@ it up with an impatient move. No need to kill the player because he didn't make it in perfect time.

#1 priority IS and WILL STAY not to get hit by playing safe.

Don't just wipe me off the floor IN THE FIGHT when I'm basically doing everything right AND would survive THE FIGHT.

Edit: And in case Blizz is worried about players occupying the arena for too long: Add a timer debuff -> job done ! No need for a lame insta kill...

As a warlock this fight is a joke. Send your observer and Razorgrin will focus on it and flop in one spot trying to get it. It turns to try to bite and the observer moves back behind it, leaving you free to stand there and burn it down.

This mob is a shark that flops about on the floor. If you get too close to his front end he has a really nasty bite which will kill you pretty sharpish.

Ridiculously easy as a hunter. Send in your pet and your pet will automatically stay behind him (or try to). This results in Razorgrin turning in slow circles on the floor while you (and your pet) nuke him down. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be this easy? I can imagine it being tough if you had to be in melee range yourself.

The only possibly tricky thing for a ranged pet class is to beat his enrage timer, perhaps? I'm BM hunter ilvl 500 and I had just less than 30 seconds spare, and that was from going all-out dps and not moving. This could be difficult for lower ilvls or classes without much ranged DPS.

My pet and I both finished on 100% HP - as I said, now it's safe to stand behind him, he couldn't hit my pet at all.

Really quite a sorry sight to see him flopping around there unable to hurt me :(

Brewmaster Monks can tank through the melee hits with Fortify up for a significant amount of Vengeance. With T15 2pc + Fortify + Shuffle I was only being hit for about 25% of my life per hit (~ilv550). Once you have vengeance, just pop Xuen and go to town. Xuen will taunt and continuously move behind, so Xuen is basically 45 seconds of immunity, the first 20 of which he will be greatly buffed by that Vengeance.

After warlords of draenor hit out, this beast got so much HP that its pretty much Unbeatable as of now . Seems like well have to wait for tier or two before we can actually beat that fish once again

Rough start but was pretty easy as a hunter after I glyphed snake trap. This caused the Shark to spin in a circle and and not chase me around as much.

Health: 33.400.000
Harm skills:

Flop - This is the way the boss moves by. Shark slowly moves towards to you. Looks terrible.
Bite - If boss stays in melee range, it tryes to face to you and bite, if you got a hit, you'll dead instantly. So, melee have to circle around it. Range just move away and dd's. Warlocks and Hunters just deals damage, while shark trying to bite circling pets.

Next fight: Fleasy, Greazy, Sleazy, Wheezy and Queasy

Not gonna lie.. As a hunter, I felt really bad when I used Misdirection on my pet and then just sat there and bursted him down.

What made things even more hilarious was when my pet would constantly shift position so that it was behind Razorgrin as it constantly flopped around trying to face my pet.
