Serpent Dance

Liu Flameheart rapidly assaults players with three Serpent martial arts attacks.

Serpent Strike – Liu Flameheart strikes her target, inflicting 5087 to 5913 Fire damage and an additional 6160 Fire damage over 8 sec.
Serpent Kick – Immediately following a Serpent Strike, Liu Flameheart performs a Serpent Kick. The attack inflicts 6105 to 7095 Fire damage to all players within 8 yards.
Serpent Wave – The force of Liu Flameheart's Serpent Kick creates three waves of fire around her which move out from her. Serpent Waves inflict 5087 to 5913 Fire damage to all players they impact.

Jade Serpent Dance

When Liu Flameheart reaches 70% remaining health, she channels the essence of the Jade Serpent to aid her in battle. Each of her attacks now has an additional effect.

The Jade Serpent

When Liu Flameheart reaches 30% remaining health, she enters a trance, making herself invulnerable and summoning the spirit of Yu'lon to defend her in battle.

This is from BETA anything can change from now till live.

After killing the trash in the 3rd area of Jade Temple Liu spawns in the middle of the room.
this is the basics of the Boss fight.

Every 30secs "or so" the current target Liu is on gets a debuff called "Serpent Strike" it is a magical effect, it hits 70k the first time then over a 8sec period you take 80k damage. Should be dispelled as soon as possible.

The next ability "Serpent Kick" is a AOE effect damage that deals 70k damage to anyone close to Liu.

The next ability, "Serpent wave" sends a wave of fire in 4 directions North, South, East and West of where ever Liu is facing.

At 65% HP Liu gains a ability called "Jade Serpent Dance" it increases the damage of all attacks by roughly 15% and makes the debuff of Serpent Strike Last for a longer amount of time.

Once you get Liu down to 20% HP she runs to the middle and is immune to all damage and summons a Jade Dragon, Every 20secs the Jade Dragon does a fireball at a random player and puts a Fire pool under them.

After killing the Jade Dragon Liu dies and you get your Lootz.

During the first phase she will attack you in melee while occasionally firing four small waves of fire out in an X formation. They don't spawn in melee range, so you don't have to worry about that, but ranged? sidestep those things. During the second phase she will gain the powers of the jade serpent and the waves of fire will be intensified, turning green and now leaving a trail of fire that you need to stay out of. she will also use jade strike which puts an absorption shield on the target and knocks back anyone in melee range, careful not to get knocked into the flames. During the final phase she will summon the jade serpent and it will attack you, avoid its jade fire attack; a fireball that sets the ground beneath you ablaze, and down him quickly. It is best to kite this phase.

I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this, but on Challenge Mode, this boss will take forever and try to kill the Serpent Warrior adds before your party is able to release. Not sure if it's intended, but we lost our medal because of a wipe and having to sit and wait for the mobs to try and kill the boss.

I just solo'd this instance and, despite killing Liu Flameheart, I didn't get to loot her, nor did I get credit for Restoring Jade's Purity. Seems a little buggy.

Took me a couple tries to solo her as a Mage (on Normal), as once she got my shields down she would tear through my clothes like through butter.

Luckily she resets if you get out the door, so no need to die while perfecting your strategy.

What worked for me was:

Burn her down as fast as you can before she invokes the serpent, as that's when she's attacking in melee.
Once she invokes the serpent, while the fireballs it launches do some pretty damage, you can easily avoid them and kite the serpent until it's down.
