Poundfist is a WoD rare NPC who spawn in Gorgrond. At this day, his spawn location is still unknow and drop the Sunhide Gronnling. He's one of the 7 rares who will be like the Time-lost Protodrake or Aeonaxx.

Important fact : Every player who attack this monster will be able to drop the mount, unlike the Time-lost or Aeonaxx so don't panic and play with other peoples !
All the 7 rares will have a long respawn time, but it will be less long than TLPD or Aeonaxx.

Poundfist is one of 7 new rarespawns with associated mount drops. Poundfist drops Sunhide Gronnling. Warlords of Draenor adds 2 variations of Gronnlings, with this being a tan/brown version.

6 of these rarespawns have a 100% chance to reward their respective mounts for everyone that participates in the kill. source

The 7th, Nok-Karosh, is unique in that only 1 Garn Nighthowl drops from him. The mount is unbound, meaning it can be traded or sold on the auction house.

Sunhide Gronnling is received from killing Poundfist.
Mottled Meadowstomper is received from killing Luk'hok.
Bloodhoof Bull is received from killing Nakk the Thunderer.
Great Greytusk is received from killing Gorok.
Sapphire Riverbeast is received from killing Silthide.
Swift Breezestrider is received from killing Pathrunner.
Garn Nighthowl Drops from Nok-Karosh.

I just killed him and got the gromling mount. Holy crap coolest mount I have ever seen. Hands down. He was in Drywind gorge straight east from Rexxar's flight point.

Ran to his spawn point as soon as I got out of Tanaan, he is not up.

I am guessing he has a far longer spawn rate than other rares since they are all up and I've seen them repop.

Reading some of people's comments, and camping Poundfist myself for couple of hours i've came to this conclusion - He most likely never spawned on any server due to high amounts of server restarts / shut downs over the past days since the expansion launched. I've heard from people that the rare timer resets once the server does and it can either spawn really soon ( normal rares ) or take even more time in cases like TLPD poundfist etc... If my theory is correct we should start seeing a lot more spawns as the servers become more stabile and stabile.

Also im kinda camping the premade custom groups in hopes that maybe some good soul found him on his server and is looking for more people to share the mount with, Happy hunting!

For the record; I have camped Poundfist for the last 3 days. Since 11/13/14 @ 11:40pm I have been camping him (now 11:22am - 11/16/14) and he has not spawned. I need sleep.... but he should be up any minute now. I will update letting you know if he can be soloed and what loot he drops

I know that Mottled Meadowstomper was just killed 30 minutes ago for a fact.

Been camping for about 9 hours now on Moon Guard and nothing. I am curious though, I hearthed to my garrison and then went back and nobody that was there before is there now. I very much doubt it spawned, I am guessing I went into another phase, could that screw with any timing issues?

Tried to do a bit of "detective work" myself and piece together some of the information we have.
Starting off with Bashiok's Tweet: "To the Gory Gronn you'll hurry, to face his wrath, rage, and fury."
By Gory he is implying violent Gronn while there are no Gronns with that kind of name/title we do have however the "Valley of DESTRUCTION" which is riddled with Gronn.
In the description for the mount there is mention of him enjoying the Sun. It has been stated that potentially he spawns during day time but that has not been confirmed, however, if you wander around the Valley of Destruction I mentioned, you do find a Suntouched Spear !
I don't think the name on it is just a coincidence. Specially when the description hints at a very strong character throwing it and having it land there.

I also tried to follow the trajectory of the spear. It leads to a plateau nearby (47.4, 49.9) with a big skeleton that kind of frames that platform, which would be ideal for a Rare mob to spawn and it leads to the ramp and rise close to Dionor's Demise.
Couldn't find any other information but where the spear spawns would probably be another ideal spawn camping location.

Obviously, just speculating here but would be nice to see what others do with the information.

In 'this world' = this Draenor?
Where do we stand around and talk in Outland? Ring of Blood, ogre place maybe? A quest hub perhaps? Gory Gronn on Outland could be the one you fight with Sablemane, or one of the sons.

I'm starting to identify some patterns at those rares. Not sure yet, but based at wowhead comments and my own experience farming my mounts - i got only 2 (Gorok and Pathrunner), but there is a lot of reports about another raspawns too. My theory is:

* Gorok, Luk'hok and Pathrunner: Initial respawn: 1 hour up to 16 hours. Average 6-8 hs.

* Silthide and Nakk takes longer time, for sure. Initial respawn: 8 hours. Average 16hs+.

* Poundfist takes longer than any other rare. I think thats like Poseidus, initial respawn around 72hs+.

What do you guys think?

This is just a game. There are a lot of people talking way too seriously about this NPC and being downright rude to others. Let people speculate, if that is what they want to do. If you don't believe in what they say, then don't take their advice in-game, it's that simple. If you post something and people down-vote it, perhaps you should consider not being so condescending towards them. To be so vicious towards people who are merely contributing their thoughts on the matter is quite disturbing. Take a deep breath and walk away from the computer if you have to. Life's too short...

When i read that riddle i think that it jus spawns on 1 server every time. So when someone kills it on server A it spawns on server B and when someone kills it on server B it spawns on server C.

SPAWN LOCATIONS
The only known location of him is from the beta - whether he spawns here or paths here is currently unknown.

Spawn timers are currently unknown could it be assumed he most likely never spawned on any server due to high amounts of server restarts / shut downs over the past days since the expansion launched. If there is no trigger to Poundfist we assume the spawn timer to be atleast 48 hours.

This could mean he paths or might reference the Gorgorek's fall where their are frozen hostile Ancient Gronn that share the same model as Poundfist or he could be talking about how Poundfist is already in the game waiting to be looted and we're still theorycrafting

POTENTIAL REFERENCES TO POUNDFIST
The treasure Suntouched Spear when looted drops a junk item of the same name with the flavour text "The ornate blade snaps as you dislodge it from the solid stone it was impaled in. How could it have impacted with such force at so high an angle?" Could be referencing Poundfist or any of the other large mobs roaming the treasure.

Two quests killing other magnarons. The quest reward for Fury of Frostfire (garrison horde only quest) is Firefury Totem which is a level 100 toy which has the on use of "Place a Firefury Totem that will set the sky on fire for 10 min. (1 Hour Cooldown)"

MY OPINION
All we can do is speculate at this point. We do not know how stable beta servers on the week that Nonetheless saw Poundfist on beta or how long Poundfist was there, so i'm taking the time and date with a grain of salt. All we know is a lot of love and care has been put in by Blizzard in terms of the Magnarons, there are numerous quests and lore regarding them scattered throughout WoD especially at level 100, we also know that the Blizzard employee responsible for Gara also was involved in Poundfist so regardless of how and when he spawns i'm sure it will be epic.

Instead of tin foil hatting this mount like all the crazy tin foilers that whispered me about my Time-Lost Proto Drake, Aeonaxx, Poseidus, and Grey camel mounts saying maybe you have to kill this and wear that and be at half health or blah blah.

I'm just going to say that it's just a 72 hour spawn timer like Poseidus.

In beta you didn't have to do some tricky 360 no scope balancing a cheery on your head while reciting abc and playing Mozart, it was seen and killed in Beta same goes with all the other mounts.

In Beta it was reported that Gorok had 1 spawn location, then servers went live and now we know Gorok has 6 spawn locations.

Nakk the Thunderer was reported to only have 1 spawn location in Beta and now he has 2 spawn locations.

Time-Lost Proto Drake has a 1 in 16 chance to spawn every 6 hours.
Aeonaxx has a 1 in 16 chance to spawn every 6 hours.
Correct Camel figurine has 1 in 16 chance to spawn every 6 hours.
It's also reported that 2 of those rares despawn after a short time frame.
If you had camped those mounts and did research then you'd know that.

Also while camping Aeonaxx a 2nd time for my alt in cataclysm and taking notes each time he spawned or the bat spawned every 6 hours, there was big difference in my logs when the servers restarted.

I spoke to two people today who found him on beta, one who found him 4x. The minimum respawn is anticipated to be around 72+ hours, and he has been seen patrolling between beast watch and the known spawn point. This would mean provided there is no reset tonight, 23/11 at 4am (EU) is the first time he will be able to spawn. We will see.

Update:
This was correct and I obtained the mount that evening.

Tips?
Don't bother camping until the weekend, if you're in the EU and you had your resets on Wednesday. Adjust if elsewhere. Usually people tend to get him on Saturdays and Sundays, and the variation of spawn times is quite tremendous. Got mine in a group, where I was the leader- ensure you have warlocks on all of the spawn points, stack them in your raid and get enough people in each place to summon. When it's that easy, they do tend to summon before pulling, which makes for less sad people. Bring snacks and patience.

Also, don't forget to remind people in general and /w your friends who are camping. I forgot to do this, I have not been forgiven yet. You do not want to feel the wrath of an angry woman.
(I was co-ordinating 40 people, how was I supposed to remember!)

EU realms came back online at roughly 8:30am GMT on Friday, which is 00:30am PST.
US realms came back online at roughly 7:30 PST on Friday
So basically this puts EU about 7 hours AHEAD of US realms for uptime. If they don't restart again, EU should begin seeing reports on this mob's spawn much sooner than those of us here in the states, provided he's actually in the game and the restarts were the issue.

Europe will reach the point of longest up time since launch @ about 2:30am PST tonight. Anything passed that is new territory and anyone interested in this mount would do well to stay glued to this page for any reports. Keep in mind, it could still take until midnight on Monday morning, a full 33 hours or so from now before we see anything as the mob could easily have a 72 hour spawn. Right now we simply don't know just how long it is, only that it is likely over the 50 hours or so that we've had the realms up at a stretch.

Look at the information for Nakk and the other rares, they all have some sort of flavor text which in the end, have no meaning.

Was killed on Eversong-EU today 17.22 server time in Gorgrond 50.5, 42.0, below Erosian the Violent. Had about 1.2kk hp, NPC-scan spotted him and alerted. Hits hard in your face, jumps and hits for about 60k - 70k upon landing.
Killed him in pair enh-shaman 96 & shadow priest 94, questing blue-green gear.

Killed him JUST now on Dragonmaw-EU. He spawned at 41.91, 25,95 close to the Iron Docks flight path. Heart was pounding hard and trigger finger itching but the whole group was patient and we managed to sum everyone before someone Leeroyed in :D. He was walking in small circles but generally he was in that area. screen shot submitted too :P The legend exists and he walks among us.

Just killed him on Stormreaver, west of the Pit. One of us spotted him a bit more to the north of where this screen was taken, he had time wandering down a bit before we all got there to kill him.

#Mythfist TLDR:
Poundfist drops Sunhide Gronnling 100% for all who tag.
For the world first realm spawns which were the easiest to prove timers for, the earliest confirmed kill was @ 56 hours after reset. Longest were @ 90+ hours.

Facts:
-Confirmed multiple kills same server within 30 minutes of each other (kill 2 Illidan 7:49 - kill 1 Illidan 7:46), different locations, due to multiple realm instances. We've seen respawns happen 3 times on 1 high pop realm in 24 hours, each in unique realm instances.
-Earliest world first spawn in EU after a realm reset was on Zenedar/Bladefist/Frostwhisper EU @ 16.54 GMT, 56 hours after reset.
-Multiple 80-90+ hr spawn times seen. Realm restarts reset this timer. DDOS attacks that disrupted certain realms didn't reset the timer for those realms.
-Shared faction tag. No competition needed between factions.
-Cyclone/sheep has diminishing returns.
-He scales by attacker number up from 1.3 mil to only a few million more (1/6/15 Poundfist now has 40% more health and increased the upper limit on the number of players his health can scale to.)
-Dealing with phasing and people not being able to see him: The person who starts the group should be the one who spotted Poundfist. Then you'll all be in the same instance of Draenor.

TIPS: Be patient. Know his last spawn time with certainty.
HIGHLY SUGGEST you ready your Aviana's Feather or Falling Flame if you have one banked in combination with Goblin Glider (engineers) or Goblin Glider Kit (anyone). Would not have made it in time for my kill without. Set hearth to Skysea Ridge to cover the top location. ~20s run up the east side of the mountains from there.
Oddly-Shaped Horn or Tuft of Yak Fur are easily obtainable options.
Remove weapons to lower tag damage. Dismiss pets/bodyguards.

Personal kill:
Server first Poundfist finally spawned on US Bleeding Hollow Monday 11/24/14 6:56 PM EST, 80.5 hours after realms last came online Friday 11/21/14 at 10:30 AM EST, after a personal 30 hour camp. Good luck everyone!

Me and my group managed to kill him this evening on Draenor-EU. He spawned in the open area south of the Iron Docks flightpath. From what i can tell is that he has just like TLPD different spawn points so don't waste your time staying in one spot. I do not know much more about him other than that not many have him atm.

EU Servers restarted 21.11.14 @10:00 and the first Mounts dropped 23.11.14 @13:00.
I was in a group camping from 23.11.14 @17:00 till 24.11.14 @7:00 in the morning I got the Mount!
In this night we heard from about 15 Servers that they killed him too.

Just spawn on Barthilas (Oceanic realm) 10 minutes ago twice.

It spawned for one raid group not in our phase so I droped out of our 40 man to check it and he was dead at 47 54.1 with 5+ people riding their sunhide gronnling.

I then got psted by my previous 40 man I was previously in that It had spawned for them at 43.2 55.5 twenty seconds after I had left group.
I rejoined the raid and saw the 5+ people on there gronnling mounts fade out as I went back to the other phase. I went up and our group had pulled early, however the druids chained cycloned him so everyone could get to him.

Didn't get the SS for the first spawn as I was in a hurry to run back to my other group.

This mob suffers from phasing issues, at the very least up at the south-of-Iron-Docks spawnpoint.

He was -not- spawned when I went north to do the 'assault the iron docks' (Horde) quest. On my ride back to the flight master I was shocked and pleased to see NPC Scan inform me that he was spawned. I let General chat know his location and coordinates, and waited for others.

HOWEVER, two people could not see him. One had done all the quests in the zone. Both were 100. Both had detailed explanations as to where he was, and both claimed to be at the correct coords. They could see -one another,- but not Poundfist. Relogging did not fix it. This could very well be more of the "phasing/shard server" issues, like those plaguing the raid groups that try to farm Nakk. Being only level 94, I did not risk inviting the 100s to my group, having heard horror stories about people then leaving the correct 'phase' for the rare and being unable to return. But be warned; if you don't see him for days on end, you may well have just been phased away : /

Edit - This was Nagrand EU (and by extension Runetotem, Kilrogg etc) at about noon today.

Argent Dawn EU finally got their kill today at 12:45pm. Sadly another raid group was waiting besides of the one i was in and i didn't manage to summon people to the Canyon where he spawned. The other raid grp zerged him down so around 70-90% of my group didn't get their tag nor did the horde raid, which apparently were in the area aswell. I'm feeling so sad for everyone who didn't get the tag and i can't even enjoy my own Gronnling. It's a nice mount but the way i recieved it was with stress, chaos and failure.. I desperately tried to summon my fiancé but i couldn't as people pulled $%^& that interrupted the portals etc :/ Saddest way i've ever recieved a mount.. I hope others will have better experiences...

Spawned on Anvilmar at 0755 11/24/14. Spawned at the west of the docks location and he pats in a small circle not traveling far at all. People did not wait long to kill him fortunately I was there because I had camped him since 1400 hours the day before when EU first posted their kills.

4 people on Turalyon-Doomhammer EU got the mount, whilst more as 160 waiting on all the spawn points. None of them called out, just killed it without waiting; while entire raidgroups everywhere wait for each other and summon each other. Looks like the population on some servers grows worse..

Confirmed kill (i was there): on server Emerald Dream @ 41.65 25.99. We were camping since 23 november 20.00 and killed him on november 24 around 12:03.

All waited for eachother. An allie attacked with cyclone, all in the group that allready stood at his spawnpoint didn't attack. They waited for everyone who where camping way south on the map to arrive there and receive the mount!

Poundfist was killed @ 5:35am AEDT, @ 47, 56 just east of Breaker's Crown flight point, on server Jubei'Thos.

Got a group invite from someone on a connected realm "Gundrak". Apparently he had spawned 3 times today on this server. Weird considering that he is supposed to be on a 48+ hour timer.

His health does not scale with the amount of people attacking it so you will have to be quick to get a tag or have someone incapacitate it while you wait for more to come tag.

I should mention also there is a chance you can get phased and not be able to see him. Had an alliance friend not be able to kill him because they were phased and could not see him or any of us at all.

Be considerate and wait for more people to collect and obtain this awesome and extremely rare mount.

PHASING ISSUES ON RAGNAROS EU

Ragnaros is still camping for Poundfist. There has been reports of him spawning, but no one thought it was true. Turns out, it might just be true.

Today ive tried to group up with different people, and for each person ive grouped up with, ive been phased into another "instance" of the zone. (Keep in mind this is all on ragnaros, and same camp location)
If i leave the group, im still phased to the same instance as the group was, but if i invite myself to another group, i get phased to another instance again, still on Ragnaros.
So far ive come across 5 different phases on Ragnaros. I have had ragnaros people camping for this mount in each zone (but different instances on Ragnaros), and none of them are able to see either me, or the people ive met in the different phases. This makes it very hard to track down what instance Poundfist might spawn on, or even has spawned on.
And if Poundfist spawns on one of the instances, the other ones wont be able to see or get that spawn. So if someone announces a spawn in General chat, ask for a invite, cause it might be in another phase.

Before anyone goes nuts at me for this statement, please try yourself. Pick a camp spot, group up with different people on ragnaros, and you will realise it for yourself.
I also found that taking the flightpath from Gorgrond, to Frostfire Ridge, and back again, phases you too.

(If i understood it correctly, blizzard made several instances per zone to prevent the lag and delays we had earlier in the release. This is most likely the reason why we are having the phasing issues now.)

At this point I think nearly all english eu servers have spawned a poundfist. I was camping for 9 hrs last night and heard at least 10+english, 1 italian, 1german servers with confirmed kills. For ppl on US servers his spawn timer is much larger then 72hrs. Darksorrow + magtheridon eu had kills after,(11pm gmt) 85hrs after server restarts.

Hey guys! After 30+ hours of camping I finally have some information about Poundfist!

1. He has 5 spawn locations:

2. He scales up to a maximum of roughly 6,000,000 health.

3. He WILL melt if people aren't being generous or conservative about it.

4. The spawn time is a huge window, anywhere from 58-80 hours. The spawning seems to be staggered across servers, with tons of servers still not seeing a spawn.

5. Cycloning him will immune him and make him live longer, but if your druids aren't spamming it he will still take damage. (rumors of MC resetting the tag or even the spawn of the rare)

After about 80+ hours of camping, finally killed this guy on Cairne-US @ 7:30pm server time. This after a whole day of losing tags on him, thanks to people being impatient and not waiting. We kept him agroed/cycloned till the whole group + horde made it over, to ensure a majority of those camping got their tag/kill. Congrats to everyone in the group/out who waited patiently, and good luck to those still camping. Don't give up!

Killed at 23.40 last night on Outland EU, there was at least 3 raid groups around and nearly all of them camped on the Beta spawn point, luckily it spawned North near the docks, my raid group had 5-6 people up there and they did a stellar job with Cyclones and MC, my whole raid plus tens of others from the zone got up there before he got nuked, I feared as Outland took so long to spawn it would die in seconds but people waited and was pleasantly surprised, I had missed a kill on Grim Batol due to a call centre ringing deciding I needed a new mobile phone deal /sigh

Seems the 1st realm to confirm kill was 53hours after Fridays 11am servers up, making Outlands 1st confirmed kill nearly 85hrs, is it possible the spawn timer min/max is 48-96 hours? I'm sure we will gather more info over next few weeks, meanwhile happy hunting everyone ;-))

If you are wanting to camp for this mount, I would suggest highly that you begin about 56 hours after the last server restart to be on the safe side. You do not want to miss a spawn on a long camp like this or you will be waiting for nothing for a long time. Also, you should get as many btags from other servers as possible to boost your chances of getting an invite to a realm with this mob spawned on it.

On Suramar/Draka I waited with a group for around 12 hours and got a request from someone on KT server(Kel'thuzad or Kirin tor, not sure which) I was only able to pull a few over with me but us 3 got the mount. I returned and camped with my first group for another few hours to help them out, but to no avail.

The point is that you CANNOT simply play this mount like other rares. The "I'm going to sit here till it spawns" method is not viable unless you can somehow stay up for like 48 hours straight. It's best to join forces with other realms on this guy to maximize your chances. Good luck.

A tip for the people camping, it probably only spawns on sundays. For example, first confirmed kills and all of the kills here on wowhead was posted last sunday. All the US kills was posted on monday (monday for CET) wich is sunday in the US. And to give a little bit more backup to my theory. It's called the SUNhide Gronnling, probably hides all days except on sundays right? And, the description says "Loves the sun, hates everything else.". He only loves sundays. So a big tip would be to only camp on next sunday.

Poundfist. Okay, let's bust some myths and give some facts about this ultrarare mob.

Myth 1. ~~His spawn depends only on real time elapsed, not affected by realm restarts/downtime.~~
This one is 100% untrue. Why? Because his first-ever live spawn was on 23/11, roughly 50h after restart on Friday, 21/11. This was the very first time servers went stable for more than 48 hours. Previous record was about 40 hours at 16/11-18/11, not a single spawn on live.

BUSTED. His spawn is somewhere about 48-96h, and this timer IS reset to zero every restart, maintenance or server crash.

Myth 2. ~~He has same spawn mechanic as Time-Lost Proto-Drake/Aeonaxx.~~
TLPD and Aeonaxx are rare spawns of other rare with normal timer. This means something like (numbers are not accurate):
Every 5~7h one of two rares spawn.
5 out of 6 times, Vyragosa/Blood Seeker will spawn.
1 out of 6 times, Time-Lost Proto-Drake/Aeonaxx will spawn.

Poundfist has no "lol-u-fail" mob like Vyra/BS. His timer is just absurdly long. Same mechanic applied to Poseidus.

BUSTED. He is new Poseidus, not TLPD/Aeonaxx.

Myth 3. ~~Your raid/party camps every single spawn point. You won't miss him spawn on your realm.~~
CRZ added by Blizzard made it possible for multiple instances of SAME REALM exist at the same time. Your party or raid are always in one instance of your realm. But there may be more.

BUSTED. With new CRZ system, you effectively cover only one instance of a realm with one party/raid. BUT Every single instance of your realm has ITS OWN spawn timer. And yes, it is possible to have more than one spawn at your realm.

Please upvote and/or translate to your language. It's painful to see people camping on wednesday/thursday.

So many groups camping this guy less than 48 hours after a server restart... I guess they've never heard of Poseidus ?

To be fair, one guy did say a GM had told him Poundfist was not affected by server restarts. Thing is, I've seen GMs giving contradictory info on rare spawn mounts so many times that I've just given up on them, not to mention they're apparently not supposed to be telling us anything.

Also, what of restart VS maintenance ? Poseidus's timer is reset by simple maintenance, but some dude I'm talking to right now is pretty vehement about me being a complete idiot and Poundfist obviously not being affected by maintenance, nevermind that this is our first week of real server stability anyway so how can anyone judge ?

I am going to post this for everyone knows:

Just because you had a kill on your server does NOT mean disband your group unless it was yours that got the kill. You can have multiple kills on your server due to the new instancing technology!

So say I am in raid one, and it spawns for us.. the second raid will likely NOT see our spawn (depending on server size and the activity in Gorgrond, of course) and will have their own later.

Do not lose heart if it didn't spawn for your instance. It will spawn again! (Proven by three spawns on Teldrassil, for different groups)

I share this with you to maximise your Chances to get the Sunhide Gronnling Mount

First thing is. Get a full Raid Group to camp every Spawn Point.

You will Postion yourself in the North (42,0 / 25,0)

Now comes the Trick. Set Your Heartstone at Keepers (Rat) in the Breaker's Crown.

So now its waiting time. ( I was there for 80+ Hours ) :)

If Poundfist Spawns at your Location, fine.

If not instantly use your Heartstone. you will reach the other Spawns in that way much quicker.

And guys. Dont be stupid. Do 1 autohit on Poundfist to scale his HP Pool up and wait for all Raid Members to get to your place.

This is just to Secure your Tap on Pounfist avoiding anybody goes full idiot bursting the Rare.

Killed on Rexxar - 11/29 about 1:10 am server S.E. spawn. People did not wait long. Some jerk bloodlusted. Thanks to the druids who kept cycloning as best they could. Around 11pm he spawned and was downed way too fast. I ran on my mount as fast as it could carry me. My shot was almost launched or launched it was that close to the wire. Thank you to the guy who popped bloodlust (really guy noob or snoob)making me miss my mount by a fraction of a second. 5 to 10 minutes before Poundfist showed his ugly face I told the raid leader to place druids at all points and spam cyclone. His response was " As long as nobody attacks it we will be fine " After the event he complained that he didnt even come close to Poundfist. Actually Cyclone has a DR on him, so druids can't keep him CCed forever. So much people camping him now and unfortunately there are always a couple of them who just don't care with others and dps him down.

FYI as a smart and lazy way to farm for this guy, do what I did.

His spawn timer is 50-80 hours as others have said. So there's no use camping him on say Tuesday after a reset. However the community is very actively keeping logs of his kills on forums and social media. You can use this to significantly cut down on how much camping you personally need to do.

What I did was wait until Friday/Saturday when he will have surely spawned on some servers but not others. Then go to the Premade Groups finder and queue for a Poundfist camp. What you really want is a group that has reasonable evidence that he has not yet spawned (i.e. consistently camped and no confirmed kills for the week.) Join that group (preferably on a Saturday) and camp for as long as you'd like, say 1-8 hours.

If you're lucky like me and your group is correct that he has not spawned, by the time you start camping you're already in the 70-80 hour time window since the last reset and you'll only have a matter of a few hours until a spawn. Worst case scenario, you only lose a few hours of your week (as opposed to 30-80 hours of your week) and you can always casually try again next week.

The method described above gives a rather good chance for success for relatively small time investment. Of course the downfall is that if everyone did this, the method would fail to work. However I'm quite sure that others will continue to camp regardless.

Personally I got pretty lucky using this method, invested about 1.5 - 2 hours of camping on my first try and killed him at his spawn point of (51,43). I can also confirm that cyclone still works on him, with diminishing returns, as of 11/29/14. Everyone in our group got over to him in time and got a tag in. It helps to have at least 1 druid and 1 warlock in the raid group for cyclones and summons.

Poundfist was killed in Mal'Ganis 8:10AM server (CST) today (December 1st), so 63:33 hours after his last reported death (November 28th 4:37PM server time).

We had a raid group that had been camping him for 15 hours straight, but most of us couldn't get to him in time because two people (outside of the group) bursted DPS and killed him in less than 30 seconds, despite being yelled at to stop doing it.

Sadly people act very selfishly about these spawns even though it wouldn't affect them at all if they would just tag the mob and wait a few seconds for other people to get there.

He spawned at 47, 54.

hey, guys i just wanted to give to give out some simple and easy tips that hopefully can help in some ways:

1. Through camping i have realised that weekly reset does effects Poundfist"s timer. it resets it.

2. the longest recorded Poundfist spawn was 126 hours, on Defias Brotherhood, killed december first 16:18 the minimum was 48 hours.

3. Poundfist randomly spawns, but he is known to spawn North and Springs the most.

4. be careful of phases every realm has different phases that Blizz makes to reduce lag etc, so if you heard about a spawn on general chat since general chat is not phased, and you did not find anything, that means you are phased from this group and he will spawn in your phase, just wait.

5. he spawns in waves, for example on friday a wave started with 3 kills recorded 15 min later another kill kept like for 3 hours then the difference increased, with 1 every hour then 1 kill every 2 hours, and so on, most of the realms had their spawn by sunday afternoon.

6. his HP scales bases on people around him.

7. Set your hearthstone to breaker's crown, easiest way to get around.

8. and lastly don't nuke the NPC down, wait for everybody to get there

So..about 75 hours respawn..? I don't even know, been farming it for over 30 hours straight, can't even do basic math anymore...).

About 10 full raids camping it on every spot, but concentrated and partying at the pools one (the beta one), kinda afraid about experimenting some phasing issues, I must admit, but we had a way worst issue...it was a WEEKDAY! So..once we hited 03:00AM, 7/10 raids were disbanded and people went off. I'm sorry for you guys, some of us are just insane to get the ugliest mount eu.

We were out of scouts as well, as people was tired and about to quit, so at 6:00 I took a look for the last time and my NPC-Scan did the job for me. Called the coords @General and a common chat for the Raid Leaders of each group and...I'd like to say that "we all met there", but even tho our druids did their best Cycloning him, and most of the people was having a good behavior, some guys didn't get to the kill because of, of course, hunters ninja pulling and people going bat%^&* triggering BL and some other &*!@ I'm ashamed of... Most of us just tagged him and stood back, other people just got for the last hits with Avianna's Feather..some others...didn't build a Tavern...but yeah...(not proud of you, C'Thun...).

So, his life DOES raise up >8M, and for more info...well..he wasn't following a path, but just moving some steps back and forward instead.

Hope this info helps you guys so you can get your's asap.

So with today's maintenance reset, I thought I'd take the time to look over the spreadsheet data collected for the last round of kills on US servers. The link is in another comment here, I believe. By rounding out the hours and doing a wee bit of math I tried to get a better idea of his timer. So here's what I have

Hours between kills:

55 hours for Frostmane/Ner'Zhul/Tortheldrin
63 - Scarlet Crusade/Feathermoon
53 - Ysera/Durotan
64 - Arthas
76 - Blackrock
38 - Darkspear
63 - Mal'Ganis
64 - Sargeras
68 - Tichondrius

An average of ~60 hours (rounded down)

If we remove the greatest outlier Darkspear: ~63 hours (rounded down)
If we remove the greatest outlier on either end (Darkspear and Blackrock): ~61 hours (rounded down)

Notes:
1) This is a very small sample size since not too many realms were able to get in more than one kill between resets. This means the above data might not be a full average, but rather an average pointing toward the start of his timer window!
2) I only used the data from the spreadsheet. You have to accept some human error in data collection and that it might not be up date with kills in the last couple of hours.
3) I haven't finished my coffee. See note above about human error.

My hope is that DreadRavenAnzu, etc keep the spread sheet running and up-to-date for another couple weeks. Let's get a good data set!

strangest thing happened to me.

was not in a group, near the breaker's beak spawn, there where loads of other allies near, and after an hour e gave up and returned to the garrison.

i used the mole to get to gorgrond again, then went to breaker's and headed to the spawn, and no players where there, and poundfist was there! invited a realid friend and we both got the mount.

then he left the group and other group invited me, and i phased into theyre group, then i left and was invited to a raid group and phased again...

i dont get it...is it possible that everyone on my realm where phased due to being in groups with peepz from other realms? i was on aggra+grim batol.

ps - went to nagrand and same thing happened, nakk was there and there where just 2 guys (horde this time) beating him. i killed it, but before i could loot the body disappeared, so did the 2 horde!...weird stuff is going on today...

Just killed him on Stormscale EU 12.20am server time.
Spawned on 51,43. Been camping him for 18hrs and the last kill confirmed before that was 30/1 2am. Giving him a 70hrs 20min respawntime.
Some dude did say he got a kill around 11.45am but there were never really any proof confirming it. So either it was in another phase or he was just a troll.
People was good on calling on spawn and kept him cc'd as much as possible.

It is possible to use Aviana's Feather, click it off to hit correct landing point (as in, close proximity to him), die to fall damage, and when you rez, loot him if your raid group killed him in your absence without doing healing or damage for the actual fight.

Just wanted to drop in some hard earned info to add to the other posts.

Poundfist's max spawn timer can can be over 120hrs after he is first able to spawn (roughly 48hrs after a server reset).

Me and a few other guys have been camping him in shifts (on the Kil'jaeden server) for the past several days. At no point has the server been unattended by one of us.

We are pretty confident that one hasn't spawned/killed in a different phase of the zone (although it is possible...).

Will update if it ever spawns.

Finally got him on Proudmoore this morning around 541EST. Someone was saying in general chat he spawned up at the north location. But, it was a different phase and none of us in the raid believed him because we couldn't see poundfist. Not till someone left the group and then saw he was actually there. We all left group and high tailed it up north. It took around 121 hrs for him to spawn since the last server restart.

Just got my Sunhide Gronnling after a personal 40+ hour camp.

A tip for you guys: in order to reach his spawn location faster, use Aviana's Feather + Goblin Glider (or Goblin Glider Kit if you don't have engineering).

I was so happy to have found him with my small raid group of 10 and glad to lead such a patient and dedicated group. If someone could show me how to post screenshots i will gladly!

Here are some details of the fight our group rushed to the spawn location in small groups of 2 or 1 and some other players that were passing by tagged him so we started the engagement. He had quite a decent amount of health over 1million so we each tagged him with one auto attack and waited for the others to arrive to tag him as well, some horde members joined in and it became a scramble but i managed to keep the group together cause everyone was understanding and patient plus i was spamming with /rw. anyway we downed him within 2 minutes.

Still feeling so accomplished, it was around 7:50 that he spawned at 51.4, 43.1 and 7:53 that we killed him he spawned. Around 7:50 it took everyone less than a minute to get there i was spamming with /rw like mad haha. Hope this helps Goodluck to everyone still camping it is worth it!

nearly 140 h yesterday for Eitrigg and no spawn. Every group I've been in has had no luck, starting to think there's a little man in a backroom controlling his spawn and laughing at those who waste their time......POUNDFIST I WILL MURDER YOU! one day at least.

A quick and easy tip for groups setting up to camping poundfist base on my experience:

1. Raid leader should make it clear to all members to equip only their neck/cloak/ring/trinket slots and leave every other slot pieces EMPTY, not even their weapon. (reason being jerks will tend to nuke PF once seeing him spawn, making as much ppl as possible without their gears will help slowdown the process because you can't equip back your items in combat to nuke PF)

2. Don't give assist to everyone because you don't want them to mass invite people from other servers to mess up your phase (Blizzard phasing system is a bit messy now, and normally take raid leader's server as main phase and might occasionally phase you to another server if your server is no longer the majority)

3. Give assist to ONE/TWO trusted camper at each spot for spamming /rw when it spawns.

4. Get everyone to save their Hearthstone location to Breaker's Crown. (Talk to the rat to save HS location)

5. If you don't have Aviana's Feather, you better be damn sure you have it, it will help.

6. Don't be overly excited when you see PF spawn, make sure people are here before raid leader give green light for everyone to TAG with autoattack or just a spell. DO NOT CYCLONE him the moment you see him, it puts him into combat. Only cyclone when you see jerks hitting him without waiting, and proceed to get your members here ASAP.

7. Lastly be patient, play a game of Hearthstone while camping or something. Good luck!

I just managed to get him after missing him 7 times.

When I arrived to where he had spawned, he was already down to about 7% health left. The only thing that saved me not getting him was a few druids managed to get in a few last second cyclones.

Hunter Camping tips:

We did not have a large group camping on our server, so I had to come up with a way to cover the 5 spots. My tactics did lead to a successful kill.

1. Set Hearthstone to Breaker's Crown
2. Stand on top of the hill at Breaker's crown at 46.6, 54.2
3. Using Eagle Eye, you can solo cover all 3 southern locations
4. Using Avianna's Feather from the peak you are standing on aim toward the 4th location (51,43) and fly over it. Then aim to land near the 5th spot (42, 25).
5. Hearth back to Breaker's crown and start the cycle again.

The feather has a 10 min cooldown, so you can spend 4-5 minutes north and 10 covering the southern 3. Eagle Eye lasts 1 minute, so I would just alternate looking at each of the 3 southern locations every couple minutes.

Once he spawned I did have to get physically closer to the location for NPCScan to also pick it up.

**When flying over the pit, your heart may skip a beat when one of the rares in there triggers NPCScan**

finally after many fail attempts at camping him, I finally got my tag on him earlier today.

it is really handy to make sure you got at least a few druids (3-4) to be safe, because of their CHAIN CYCLONE, we manage to keep poundfist alive for about 5mins to let ppl get here.

Only 1 auto attack is enough, DO NOT nuke him, give ppl a chance

Now, i've been using the group finder to join in the poundfist camp. The thing is, many of them end up saying 140-160+ hours w/o a spawn. Earlier posts in here claim a much lower max spawn time, so what's the deal here? Does it have to do with phasing? Is the timer higher than first assumed?

Here's some information as of late:

His max HP can scale a lot higher than the top comments claim. This was updated in a hotfix a few weeks ago.
His max spawn timer is MUCH higher than 96h. People are claiming 120-140h spawns, and the unofficial-official log that some members of the community (such as ClanManimal) have been keeping track of all the kills via Twitter confirms this.
He can spawn on multiple instances of the same realm, but the time between spawns is random. My kill came about 36 hours after another instance on my server.

And now some tips to make sure you don't miss your kill:

Join a raid team in advance. Make sure you have plenty of Druids and Mages. Try to have them coordinate their Polymorphs and Cyclones so that Polymorph removes all DoTs, and a Cyclone makes the sheep invulnerable so he regains health. Do note that CCing him puts those CCs on a DR, so you'll only get 3 sheeps and cyclones (you can do other things too, but no other CC is helpful except for Mind Control which people are claiming can mess up loot)
Make sure you have Aviana's Feather to quickly get to any spawn point. If you don't have it (it's a Garrison Inn quest btw; really easy to get), the Personal Delivery device from the Gnomish Gearworks/Horde equivalent is the exact same as the feather. Both of these go very fast. Also make sure your Hearthstone is set to Breaker's Crown if you're at a northern (NW, and maybe NE?) point, or Skysea Point if you're at a southern (SW, SE, C) point.
Make sure your entire raid is well aware of all 5 points and you have at least 3+ people on every point, if not more. It would suck if you have one person at a point and they go AFK and everyone misses the kill!
If you're on a PvP server, try to cross-faction communicate with the other faction and try to not kill each other. Anyone who goes around killing people, ask their faction side and see if they're in the team before an all-out war happens and everyone misses the kill over nothing.

Well... this crossrealm camping stinks high to the air.People keep talking in /1 about him and attract non-campers, lvling people, or people who simply don't know anything about Poundfist. (he is cc'able, 1 autohit is enough, wait for other people etc...)
Those people read something in /1 about some kind of rare and that he dropps a mount.."Oh, cool, INVITEZ PLEAZ".
You can't tell me 200 people camping on 1 spot will wait for another ~50 people camping on other spots to come around. They just don't care because they will have their mount.

That's a pain in the ass for everyone who seriously camped TLPD, Aeonaxx and the other rare Mounts. These silly questions people ask when joining the raid are just rediculous and show how much they know... I miss the times of camping lonely in Deepholm and wait for NPCscan to pop off..

2 Days ago there were 5 or 6 raidgroups waiting on Antonidas-EU for him. He died after 3 Minutes or something because people were dumping cds and nuked him down. Thats also a result from not shutting the ^&*! up.

Now, there are many ways to waste life in WoW, some better, some worse. And then there is waiting for dozens, hundreds of hours in one spot, smelling the sweat and chat of hundreds of other people, going colourblind, turning off sound to prevent weird noises, all the while utilizing all sorts of strategies, from class-specific, to whole x-realm farming communities.

All for a mount that everyone and their great grandnanas have and to afk on it in Warspear.

Confirmed kill at 8:48 pm server time, on sisters of elune. I missed him by a minute or two, i got disconnected and by the time i relogged on he was dead. There was a whole raid camping all the spots for him so i didnt get a chance to tag em but everyone in the raid got a mount out of it. i was on my horde toon and it was a alliance raid so not too much chatting with em at the time. It was at the 42.0 25.0 location. I hope this helps a bit. In addition both npc scan and silver dragon went off when i had logged back in so they do pick em up, i forgot i had both turned on.

I'm not sure how to report a page for a spawn, but in the description of Poundfist it says:

"Spawn time has a great venerability from the common 48-96 posted"

(my emphasis)

That is an incorrect usage of that word - what the author means is variability.

joined CRM raid few hours ago on TN, theres majority of the horde like 1:10 nonstop killing us giving us time for take a breath, no spawn yet and we are sitting at ~155 hours +

EDIT: just spawned and then was dead, havnt had a chance to tag him being insta killed by mighty horde, pity
