I colpetley agree, NO DRAKES! But don't worry you don't have to worry. The Sindragosa encounter is going to be inside the citadel, so she probably wont be flying much, and thus drakes would be pointless.

Sindragosa is the penultimate boss of Icecrown Citadel, but you can kill her prior to the other two wings. She is only one step in difficultly below the Lich King, however. She has many mechanics which are similar to and add on to the Sapphiron fight mechanics, with (obviously) larger numbers. She has the following abilites (values are for 25 man):

Cleave deals normal melee damage plus 50 to enemies in front of her. Stand in her midsection unless you're the tank.

Frost Aura deals 4,500 Frost damage to all players in 80 yard radius, which covers the entire room. Ticks every 3 seconds.

Frost Breath inflicts 37,000 to 43,000 Frost damage to enemies in a 60 yard cone in front of her. Again, stand in her midsection. It also reduces movement speed by 15% and attack speed by 50% for 1.5 minutes. The debuff might be dispellable but it does stack. Note: This is what must hit those on the quest "Frost Infusion" for upgrading Shadow's Edge to Shadowmourne.

Tail Swipe is your standard dragon tail swipe. Huge knockback, 11,250 to 18,750 Physical damage. Don't stand directly behind her.

Unchained Magic debuffs a target (or targets?) to stack Instability on themselves every time they cast a spell for the next eight seconds.

Instability is a debuff that deals 2,000 Arcane damage per stack when Unchained Magic expires.

Permeating Chill causes physical attacks to have a 20% chance to chill you, dealing 1000 Frost damage every 2 seconds for 8 seconds and stacking. Unclear if Permeating Chill affects hunters as well as melee, or just the latter.

Frost Beacon marks the target to be imprisoned within a Frost Tomb, which have 786,000 HP. Frost Tombs chain to anyone within 10 yards of the target - think Kel'Thuzad. They also cause Asphyxiation to imprisoned players, dealing 8% of their maximum health per second.

Icy Grip: God help us, Sindragosa is a Death Knight. This is supposedly a 30 yard range Death Grip - healers and ranged at max range should be unaffected, but stranger tooltips have been devised, and it probably affects everyone in the room.

Blistering Cold deals 35,000 Frost Damage to targets within 25 yards, with a 5 second cast time. This is cast immediately after Icy Grip. As well, the MT will be forced to take Blistering Cold hits after being immobilized by Frost Breath (unless she is tauntable or the Frost Breath debuff is dispellable.) Blistering Cold is weaker than Frost Breath anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem. Characters run at a little more than 7 yards per second so there is plenty of time to escape.

Frost Bomb: OH NOES NOT SAPPHIRON AGIAN! Anyway, it's a bomb which deals about 25,000 Frost damage anyone in line of sight. Where it lands is indicated by a graphic. Hide behind Ice Tombs to avoid this... wait... where have I done that before...?

Mystic Buffet is a debuff which increases all magical damage taken by 15%, stacking - Sindragosa spams this all thoughout phase 3 every 5 seconds. It lasts only eight seconds, and can be line-of-sighted behind Frost Tombs, but don't let it stack too high - only 25 seconds out in the open and Frost Breath will swell to dealing 70,000 damage, Instability will hit for 3,500 per stack, Frost Aura will be ticking for 7,875 damage, etc. It becomes deadly fast.

PHASE I
Sindragosa promptly attacks the tank with her melee, cleaves, and Frost Breath. She will also Tail Swipe and use Frost Aura. Every now and then she will Death Gr... errr, Icy Grip everyone and cast Blistering Cold - run like hell. If all else fails, pop a cooldown to let you survive. She will also use Unchained Magic on random people, presumably mana-users only. (like Vaelaestratz, if you will, minus the MT). If melee and hunters stack Permeating Chill too high, stop attacking to let the debuff fall off. Dead DPS = no DPS.

PHASE II
Sindragosa enters this phase at 85% first, then reenters this phase every 1:50 until 30%. You will have multiple Phase Is and IIs - similar to Anub'arak or, better yet, Illidan's 3rd and 4th phases.
Anyway, she Ice Tombs multiple players (10 on 25 man?). She then uses Frost Bombs. Good news? They don't do 120,000 damage like Sapphiron. But they still hit for a good 25,000 or so, so failing at LoS more than one probably spells death for you, as healers will be busy moving and healing the Iceblocked players.
Anyway, the object of this phase is to destroy all the Frost Tombs while LoSing each Frost Bomb - where it will land is indicated by a graphic. Everyone who will be Frost Tombed should meet at a prescribed location so all AoE will hit all tombs, and people who aren't going to be Frost Tombed can steer clear until the spell is cast. Also, players in Frost Tombs are affected by Asphyxiation, dealing 8% of their health per second.
Sindragosa will come down after four Frost Bombs regardless of the state of the Frost Tombs. She will also continue casting Frost Bombs if you dps through the Tombs too fast, leaving you royally screwed. So only finish off the last Tomb after her last bomb.
Note that Frost Aura is not active during this phase.

PHASE III
Sindragosa uses all her abilities with greater frequency. This phase starts at 30%. In additon, she will Ice Tomb random people. She casts Ice Tomb frequently - you should keep the tombs at a reasonable level (1-2 on 10 man, maybe more on 25) so players can LoS Arcane Buffet, but not so many that it kills your DPS and healing. Go all out on Sindragosa as well, this is a burn phase.
Not only does she Frost Tomb people, but also stacks a debuff which deals Arcane damage and increases damage taken by 15%. THIS is the true reason to nuke her, not her random Frost Tombs, which could be outdpsed.

Very useful guide, and 100% true. The AoE-aura doesn't hurt really. 4500 / 3 seconds - BEFORE migitation. So your Disc priests take 3% of that.. frost resistance aura about 50%, hmm. Yea. Anyway.

I won't say this is 100% sure but on both two videos I've checked the air phases have started from exact 85% of HP, continuing exact 1 minute 50 seconds each after each other - Starting from the moment she lifts off. (First one 1:06, second 2:56, third on 4:46 on on video and same formula on another) The timer is 100% correct ;)
Phase 3 is correct (read above mrfrodo's guide) Starting from exact 30%. From this point it is DPS race since she starts to ice tomb your raid members randomly (minus MT, naturally). Heroism / Bloodlust at will!

Also, there is 2 mounted versions of her you can get currently in the game. Glory of the Icecrown Raider (25 Player) Glory of the Icecrown Raider (10 Player)
There were also 2 other models of a mounted version of her. My guess would be 1 version for 10man drop, the other for 25man drop

Does anyone else think it's a total ripoff that all the frostwyrms look almost exactly the same?

The Blizz team spent so much time designing it for the cinematic, and yet both didnt do it justice in the game and used the same model for every one.....

Syndragosa was the Consort of Malygos. She died when the Dragon Soul was used for the first time, sad story :'(

This is the Dragon that Arthas risen in the WoTLK cinematic video :D hence the massive creator in Icecrown just south of the Argent Tournament Grounds named Sindragosa fall.......i always wondered what happned to her once she flew off lol.

MrFrodo already covered the different spells, so I won't repeat those (except to add that Unchained Magic stacks on spellcasts, it's not put out randomly).

This is all 10man, YMMV in 25man:

Phase 1:
If you have a paladin in the raid, it's worth having him switch to Frost Resistance Aura. It takes a bit of heat off Frost Aura, but more importantly it increases your chance to resist the Icy Grip. Melee will still have to run away if they resist it though, to avoid getting one-shot.

The most important aspect of Phase 1, is managing your Permeating Chill / Unchained Magic stacks. Don't let it go any higher than 5 stacks, unless you have some means of negating the backlash (Iceblock, Bubble, Dispersion).

When she's about to take off for an Air Phase, make a note of how many stacks you have. If you have 5 stacks (or more), consider stopping until she has taken off. The reason for that, is that if you're unlucky and get a new stack just before she takes off, the backlash can coincide with you getting Ice Tombed, which can easily one-shot any non-tank.

Phase 2 (or Air Phase):
What we did for this phase, was having everyone stack up in the ranged camp until the marks went out on the two players who were going to become frost tomb. Those two would then move forward and stand with a 15 yard (or so) distance between them, allowing for people to move between the two Ice Tomb.

Watch out for the bomb markings, and have someone be quick to call out on Vent (or in /rw) if the new bomb marker is behind you. Also aim to take around 25% off the Ice Tomb health every bomb, making the Ice Tombs' deaths coinciding with the Air Phase ending. The Asphyxiation debuff will start ticking after the last bomb has landed, so be quick to kill them. Be careful though, they don't have a lot of health, and a few unlucky crits can quickly take off a large chunk of their HP. So be ready to stop DPS and/or switch to the other Ice Tomb in case that needs more DPS.

Once she lands, revert back to Phase 1.

Phase 3:
Or as we like to call it, the Archimonde phase, because one screw-up = raid wipe.

Controlling your debuffs become even more important in this phase, due to Mystic Buffet stacking up. For this reason, you may want to consider putting fast hitting players (rogues in particular) on permanent Ice Tomb duty.

A hotfix have just been added to this phase, so it's not as critical to clear your debuffs as it used to be, but players still have to be on the ball and clear their Mystic Buffet stacks.

Designate a spot within easy reach for everyone (don't forget your tank!), where whoever is marked with Ice Tomb will position him/her-self. People have got to stay clear of that spot until the Ice Tomb has landed..

Set up a rotation for people to reset their stacks (we alternate between group 1 and 2), and make sure that the stacks are properly reset before the Ice Tomb is broken. To allow this, you may want to consider having everyone stack up in one spot during Phase 3, so that people don't have to be running in from 3 different locations.

If you're good, you'll have the Ice Tomb down around the same time a new target is chosen for the Ice Tomb. That should give everyone a few seconds to get back to the stacking spot, while the new target moves to the designated area.

This phase is very intensive for the healers due to all the raid damage going out. On top of that, once your tank starts getting a high stack of Mystic Buffet, he will risk getting oneshot by the Frost Breath. For that reason in particular, the tank must always be topped off. The two tanks must be quick to communicate between them, in order to rotate once the stacks start getting high.

fyi i tanked this last night and was able to actually resist the mystic debuff applications. i was bored and rocked with the icebane (+pally frost = 417) set on. they dropped at 15 stacks, makes for a quick burn for the 1 tank strat. completely rng though, gl.
