As much as I love the Pandaren idea, hasn't Blizzard already stated multiple times they won't do it? Not loving the boat combat idea, even as a pvp zone/bg. But who knows, it's always possible that it'll be implemented beautifully in-game and I'll eat my words.I'm kinda torn between which xpac I'd like most. Both sound like they could be very awesome. Even though I've never been able to level a druid past 10, the lore behind the Emerald Dream sounds like it could get very interesting. And the Maelstrom has always been some place I'd like to explore. It'd be cool if they could involve Gilneas somehow - I've always had the sneaking suspicion that things went all The Masque of the Red Death behind those walls.
Grats Queggy, This is probably the only "New Expansion Ideas" thread I can say I have actually read. Great, well thought out ideas, explained nicely. And even some pictures for those like me, who hate reading something that large without visual stimulation. Personally, I would prefer the Emerald Dream.Only problem I had with this post...That which must not be named always brings back such feelings of disappointment.
All I can say is that if any forthcoming expansion has new playable races, then I hope Blizzard up's the maximum number of players' characters per server from 10 to maybe 12.
Since Blizzard have issues with tanking resolved through Death Knights, it will definitely be a healer focus since they have become underplayed as of now.I was thinking of something like 'Sleeper' or 'Dreamer' who heals his allies and harms his enemies through dreams.
I think both Maelstrom and Emerald Dream are possible expansions (and some more too).I will give a reason but for those of you that haven't read "Arthas: Rise of the Lich King" these will be some spoilers.........HERE BE SPOILERS!At the end of the book, Ner'zhul shows Arthas some visions of the past and the future. Two of the visions here might be clues to future expansions in WoW:1. A vision of a calm sea suddenly churning and rolling as if a great storm, even though it is a clear day. Then land start rising for the sea. (although this might be the past, and only be Gul'dan raising the Tomb of Sargeras)2. A vision of green (Emerald Dream?), where something dark and sinister lurk at the edges (the Nightmare?), and a flash of antlers, maybe a stag or maybe a man (a druid or maybe even Malfurion?)There is also a vision of whole mountains raising up and walking, but what this might be i don't know.
malestorm sounds alot cooler imoperhaps aldor/scyrer of emerald dream could be corrupted green and uncorrupted greenfor the ship thing... you could have it mostly as a pve area, with one wintergrasp like area
How about this:you start as a...dragon and you can switch to your humanoid form(depending on what race you chose). As you go through quests, you start choosing what color you're going to be(pink dragonflight ftw ^^) ,which determines your abilities.and then join the ranks of the Alliance or the Horde(depending on the race you chose, again.)You can turn into your PINK(preferred) dragon form only in Outland & Northrend & <new continent/planet/world/dream here> ,which serves as a flying mount, just like the druids' bird form....Ah this sucks I need to get some sleep.
I think that the Emerald Dream should be the next expansion. Maybe some kind of story involving the slain gods of Azeroth in a spiritual form, yet in a dark avatar of themselves. I would like to see Agamagan come back in an expansion... Just running through bramble and killing little pig-men didn't seem to do Agamagan justice. Also some proffesion using Leather? Like being able to turn the hides of animals along with magic dusts and essences into guardian. Also maybe a warden class (like Maiev) that switches through stances giving them different Rogue and Warrior abilities but using Mana instead of Rage and Energy. (Sort of like a Warrior with Combo points and magic spells).Just my ideas.
Both ideas sound cool but I thought of that and i would suggest a mana-regeneration class that would keep everyone's mana high (i would suggest "Oracle" for the name) or a dragon-like class (as 1Jagermeister suggested).Personally, i think that the current water in WoW sucks, so they could improve it in the Maelstrom expansion.
Regarding the Hero Class, how about "Arch Caster" as the class. The tree's would be similuar to the Druid "Balance", the Priest "Holy", and the Mage "Frost/Fire". This way you'll have for Casters what Death Knights are to Melee. Someone who can do a bit of it all.
I pefer the idea of the emereld dream but a new hero class would fit too awkwardly, perhaps an evolution of classes druid-archdruid like some speculated would happen for WOTLK and obviously (not being biased my mains a rogue) but this would indefinantly be a druid expansion, maybe some new abilities like mentioned before, summoning strange forrest creatures to do one's bidding.- balance and a feral version - a howl summon. but most people (druids) would strongly opose archdruid as a hero class, essentially a bad ass druid? not particulary fair to druids who go mostly unchanged.
What i'd like to see for a Hero-Class in Emerald Dream is a dragonkin. The talents could be a healing oriented similar to resto druids, a poison/dot spec similar to warlock/spriests but with nature damage, and then a spec that is similar to the emerald drakes in Occulus (healing through damage).Alliance will have human form; Horde have belf form.
I'm personally hoping for the Emerald Dream, but that's because that lore is barely portrayed in any WC games, mostly just novels. The Maelstrom is probably my second choice, because it's new lore, and hasn't really ever been fully developed into a story, yet.
Instead of making another expansion, Blizz may be making World of Warcraft 2. On their site, they've been searching for staff for a "Next-Gen MMO"This may or may not be WoW2, but this may be a sign that they are deciding to revamp the whole engineer with the nex expansion as this one is getting dated even with the improvements they've been adding recently
Cough.
I want a hero class that is tank/healer, but NOT dps
Yay, my first Wowhead comment!I could definitely see "arch-druids" summoning different animals for short period of time - each one helps them in a different way. Sort of like totems, but less buff-oriented, and more combat-oriented. Sort of like hunter pets mixed with palladin seals. Well, seals before they got extended to 30 minutes.
