I can never forget this story:my first character was a night elf warrior called "Moester" and i have started playing the game with my RL life friend who had a druid "Dawas", i remember one day we left darkshore for the first time going to ashenvale, he just dinged 30 and he had that travel form, i was running my ass off trying to keep up but he disappeared after seconds from my screen. then a level 50 something night elf rogue passed by me, she stopped and came back to me and traded me for 5 g, keep in mind that was back in 2005 and 5 g really meant something. and my druid friend was yelling in the party chat asking me to move faster, and when i got to him i traded him for 2g 50s and told him the story, the next day i logged in that same rogue has sent a gun, 2 bags, a 2 handed sword and about two mails i can't really remember.that was huge for me and i do remember her name.a female Night Elf Rogue called "Sweetemily" on Silvermoon EU i have no idea if she's still in the game or not, and i'm not sure if she comes to this site but i want to say to her Thank You for everything. 4 years now and i still remember you, i hope you the best in life and in WoW (if you're still with us in azeroth).(i apologize for the text wall, but i felt it was necessary)Maxilius level 80 Human Warlock. Silvermoon
Biggest act of kindness goes to Shamrelic - an enhance shammy i leveled with on Chrommagus, left WOW for a while due to exams came back and this guy gave me some money, but didn't stop boosting me till i was around lvl 65, just wished i had a chance of raiding with him before i quit again! So if you read this mate good luck :) WoW can be a testament to the kindness of people!
yep i looked it up after i posted here, but as metallica said it best "Memory remains"
I lent a friend of mine 100 gold when he first started playing. Now he's one of the most famous twinks in the battlegroup and was gold capped for a short period of time.
Back when I was 70 and the game was starting to get old for me, I decided to hang around Duskwood on my Mage. I would just talk in general all the time and would help anyone with any quest or pvp problems they were having. I even handed out a bit of gold sometimes. Then I transferred my priest and started playing on a different server. A while later, I went back onto my Mage to play some POM PYRO! After logging on I was whispered by a bunch of level 70s that I didn't know. I thought at first, maybe some of my old friends have alts or something, but then one guy said he was from Duskwood, and that blew my mind. I never thought they would remember me, and the fact that they did kind of made me feel proud, and that I really did make a difference.
i play a blood elf female and danced in front of org for the last few gold. I made 400 gold! Thanks Warriorson!Edit: Also thanks to the tauren jc on maiev who game me a free blue ring when i was a lowbie, I had that ring for almost 20 levels.
I know this thread is old, but I just wanted to share possibly the greatest tale of generosity I've ever come across. This engineer (and also a guild officer in my guild) and I often chatted about the state of engineering, and how expensive it was. Still, we eventually stopped talking, but... after a few months, a mail pops into my inbox. Bing. I head to it, open it. A couple of minutes later, I finally stop staring at the screen and start grinning like a maniac. The guy had sent me 2.3k gold, a huge selection of engineering mats (Notably twenty (TWENTY!) titansteel bars), and had put in a recommendation for me to replace his position in the guild. I was utterly staggered, but very touched, considering there were many more people - many more of his friends - he could have given the money to, considering we were never friends. He then proceeded to fund my epic ground mount for my alt, my flying mount, my cold weather flying, and helped me gear up for raids... He shall remain nameless, but if he's reading this... thanks, dude :P
I send gold beggars on quests, usually to bring me 50 of some grey item that nearby mobs drop. If they do, I'll usually give them a handful of gold for entertaining me.
Sadly These kind of things wont happen anymore cause Blizz has changed the mount prices and level requirements down alot... and all that time i spent farming for money for normal epic and flying mount >.< Damn Blizz give me my gold back....
I loaned 100 gold from the guildbank and then I was kicked because I was underage.Their loss ;)
When I dinged 60, I was in a group with this 60-something mage, and he said he had a 70 shaman main. I added the shaman as a friend and when he came on as the shaman, I asked if he could help me with my epic mount training. He ended up giving me 300g ^.^He then told me that if I didn't pay him back, it would be mine and the GM's problem. I didn't pay him for a while, and he eventually got mad and /ignored me. Free gold ;P
Nicest Thing i remember someone diong for me, was back in TBC days. Had a guildie giving me 600g for getting my Epic Flying mount skill. Was a paladin called Rezzinator on Nagrand EU. Sadly she doesnt play anymore. So if she still checks wowhead and ever read this. Thanks alot
I loaned my friend 100g for mount training, just recently i got him a spiked titansteel helm, i asked him to transfer servers to an oceanic one (We both know each other in real life, we both live in the same time zone) and he said he would think about it :S i'm getting anxious to see if he would come.Edit: I saw a level 80 once, running around in all blues in orgrimmar the other day, desperatly trying to level his enchanting (He had 23 copper) he was a friend of my friend, so i opened trade gave him 100g and told him not to spend it all in one place and then rode off into the sunset....
