This is getting a bit too obvious :p
Aprils fools anyone?I think everyone would get the high roller if they could.
This is getting a bit too obvious :pyeah... not as funny anymore =(
yeah...about that...just checked the official site. the april fool's spoof is something about a dance battle system. this lameness seems to be legit =(
Have you considered that it might be WoWInterFace and not Blizzard pulling this joke?
"Screenshot or it didn't happen" confirms legitimacy.
You know what I hate at 1st April? How every comment is how it's just an april fools...There are people out there that didn't realise that, let them believe just a little longer :)
greaaaaaaaat... quest helper is 4 dollars... im screwed as crap man... i dont want to pay 12 dollars just for a couple of addons i need. and the free ones look like crap too.
You know what I hate at 1st April? How every comment is how it's just an april fools...There are people out there that didn't realise that, let them believe just a little longer :)So true.Wowinterface did come up with something that I see Blizzard capable of doing ánd is original.Blizzard just thought like 'OH CRAP we forgot April Fools! Last time we did the Bard, let's do something likewise now, /noinspiration'.Screenies of both jokes are good though :)EDIT: @MalgayneGoblin TherapistBeen using it for quite a while now and it rocks =D.Nothing as good as being whispered by someone asking you as a level 79 if they want to come to the daily heroic, and then releasing this addon onto him!
You know what I hate at 1st April? How every comment is how it's just an april fools...There are people out there that didn't realise that, let them believe just a little longer :)Amen brother.
I know it's April Fools and all but some things you don't joke about
Well perhaps the reason Blizz didn't go the route of an Add-On store as a joke was what happened with MDY. I mean the guys at Blizz are a bit on the side of being jack-asses but I doubt they would go as far as to rub salt in the wound after they just crushed an Add-On developer. Besides if you read the interview about MDY it stated that they DIDN'T want developers making money off their mods. So yeah this was a good prank, but I always look at both sides of the coin. If this is legit and they really are going to charge us for a custom WoW experience then I'm gone. I pay enough for my downloads from the PlayStation Store, I don't need Blizz going all green pockets on my now. And it would say a lot about the financial status of dear old Blizzard if this was true. But as stated I doubt the validity of this very much.-Rhaine

Like each add-on takes up space, and usually you would download them, and you have to download them on each computer. If we buy them in-game, doesn't that mean all the add-ons would take up so much of your harddrive just installing the game itself?"Add-ons may not solicit donations." (Link 1) B.S. Sometimes a pat on the back isn't enough. And the screenshot on this page? Doesn't look legit to me, the bottom tabs? It says AddOn Store. Busted. "With the continuing popularity of World of Warcraft user interface add-ons (referred to hereafter as "add-ons") created by the community of players, Blizzard Entertainment has formalized design and distribution guidelines for add-ons." (Link 1)Prices? In Link 1 it says your developed addon must be free. So if you make an add-on that is as good as XPerl or Questhelper or Atlas, YOU have to pay for it after all that hard work making it?@?% THAT.Link 2... where's the source?Link 3... Can't find the news about this.Link 4... I see two topics that has to do with either new interface stuff or add-ons, neither say ANYTHING about this.Anyways I'm done with this, I'm going to actually play the game rather than sit here and keep finding reasons why this is complete crap.Oh ya, April fools =D
The sad thing is something like this might happen in the near future. Mock my words, they will find a way to get even more of our money.
Mock my words...Alright, mock my words. Or maybe, the sad thing is something like this might happen in the near future. Oh, the Goblin Therapist = WIN!
That kind of sucks, that they are just phasing companies out. Yea its cool, but is it really necessary? this is a joke right?
monetize everything on ur way blizz .. just great FFS
I am so getting the "your mom" button.
Ok first of all you miss the point of what they're doing.Yes it is a way for them to make more money, but it's also to protect your account. Many people loose their account because of keyloggers and hackers using add-ons as a key into their account. Blizzard confirms that. You also miss that Blizzard may support add-ons, but obviously nobody really plays the game like it was intended anymore.Atlas and QuestHelper, if you need that shame on you. Notice when you read a quest "Go north of so-and-so". Kinda self explantory. You don't need an add-on pointing you in the direction.I've been with WoW for a year and a month, and still and forever will be add-on free. I play the game like it's intended, and I use no add-ons and still make plenty of cash in-game. It's very easy, just requires some thought. But Blizzard is doing this for our own safety, appreciate that.
This is just another money grab by a big company pushing smaller ones to the grave. It is also going to make it harder for the poor to be able to have the Addons that they may need to play this game on an equal ground with people that have more liquid funds in these hard times.
