Once more, on jousting. If you do not completely fail, health is not really an issue, so the main point of this strategy is to maximise DPS, and get your quest done as fast as possible.A few basic rules: Always spam thrust, thrust is on a separate cooldown timer, so there's no reason not to use it all the time. You can also use while you're running away to spam shield breaker (more on that later). When you charge, always thrust your target (aka, spam more thrust). Then, as the charge buff forces you to run away from your target, use shield breaker as you turn around to get back into meele range.Always stay in meele range, except if the target is running away, and you're planning to charge his a33 (I count shield breaker range as "meele range", as there really no risk of being hit by range attacks the way you are going to use it).(Get 3 stacks of shield up, you won't need much more then 2-4k hp if you do this right, so there's no need to heal your horsey, or whatever you might be riding)1. Start as far away from the Valiant / Champion as possible, facing the way that he is, and start the fight.2. Cast shield breaker or charge, it really doesn't matter, the important part is that you get within meele range. (remember to cast shield breaker right afterwards, if you decide to charge)3. Now, engage dancing mode, no not the Heigan one. Start running away, while thrusting away, and once you're far enough away to cast shield breaker (not very far), do just that. Then go back within thrust range and thrust in his face. Then run away, throw a shield in his nuts, run back in, thrust him with your long, hard lance, out again, smack him with your shield, and.... Well, you get the idea...The key here is to keep thrust and shield breaker on cooldown simultaneously. The hardest part of doing just that is to get the running right. When going back in for a thrust, never run straight at your target. Do a curve, land a thrust, jump out, turn in midair, smack that shield breaker hotkey, etc etc... There's a technique to this, but there's not only one, so you can figure out that part on your own. Remember, it's not the size of your lance, it's the motion of your... mount, that does the trick.4. When the target runs away, clumsily to do some range attacks, just wait for him being in range of your charge, and hit him with a hard one from behind.5. Continue until the target is exhausted, and pulls the ol' "My lance is loosing firmness" line...6. Taste the sweet victory as you make the stadium burst with applause and firework! There's really no need for all this, but i found this method to be a lot more fun, and a little more challenging. Using this method, i also managed to kill a valiant with 48459 hp at the end of the fight, mainly because their meele tends to bug a little when you're pounding them with that dance. So you can probably get all of the valiants and champions without healing, if your into that kinda thing....;>
Can you continue to do the Valiant dailies once you're a champion with all five factions? It's turning into a decent quest hub for dailies, if so.i wondered the same thing. I read through the posts up until now and I still have not seen an answer. Has anyone become champion with all 5 factions yet?
I will be exalted with all 5 later this week so i will keep this post updated as to wether you can actually continue the valiants quests afterwards. On another note, This is a very well written guide for those who want to know about the tournament.
Can you continue to do the Valiant dailies once you're a champion with all five factions? It's turning into a decent quest hub for dailies, if so.Sure is nice to get double the quest reward money since most quests are linked :P (Champion and Valiant that is) ^_^
Like many others, I am also waiting on someone to report what happens after you are a champion for all 5 factions. I have the seals for my last faction, but I don't want to turn them in if I won't be able to do the dailies anymore.
i don't believe you can still do valiant daily's as i have finished all five factions and nothing has popped up for them but i will see for sure when the daily's reset
awesome, I just got myself that Exalted Argent Champion of the Horde, it comes with a title reward of "Crusader" which is quite nice to be worn with Scarlet Crusade's tabard imo :PI didn't do The Grand Melee -quest the day when I became champion with the last faction, after becoming champion with it, the daily was unavailable so I quess you can't do the valiant-dailies if you finish the quest to become a champion but I don't really care since I got that awesome title + I have lots of alts at high lvl so I can farm the quests for money with them, just need to ignore the quest to go from valiant to champion while doing so :)
Yeah, I just Exalted-Championed all five factions as well. If you have any of the daily quests still in your quest log after completing your last 'The Valiant's Challenge' quest, you can still complete them and you'll get useless Valiant's Seal and the money. However, if you abandon the quests you will not be able to retake them, and no other NPC in the building will offer you quests. If you completed the quests prior to turning in 'The Valiant's Challenge,' that's it. You're basically completely done with the free, easy money of the Valiant Argent dailies. You can, of course, still complete the Champion quests for Champion's Seal and whatnot.(Oh and before anyone comments, the my buff addon is screwing up and I'm in the process of switching for a different one. :P)
is this event time based, or will it last long enough to get all mounts+ pets?
...but I don't really care since I got that awesome title + I have lots of alts at high lvl so I can farm the quests for money with them, ...What about my case.? My alts are all < 60... so my main still is the bacon provider... I won't turn in my last Valiant's Charge so I can keep doing the dailys.... I got a lot of mouths to feed...lolGreat Guide btw.!
I have been doing the dailies from the introudction of the Argent Tournment when 3.1 was released and I turned in the final Valiants challenge 2 days ago i think it was and i'm glad i did it. All the to and fro' ing of the Weapons quest added extra time to the net time it took me to compelte all the quests not to mention having to duel 7 times rather than 4.Now that i only have the champions dailies to do i can get it done in around 20 minutes and since i made my money off nobles cards and books of glyph mastery i don't need the cash.I guess what im trying to say is i thiink its great not having to do the valiants quests anymore after u have done the fifth faction. It certainly gives a nice title and cuts some time off.
it's a good place to farm some golds and do some dailys
I'm assuming you have to be level 80 to participate in the tournament but it might be worth mentioning that for noobs like me. Other than that, nice guide.
I'm assuming you have to be level 80 to participate in the tournament but it might be worth mentioning that for noobs like me. Other than that, nice guide. No you don't have to be 80 you can start at 77 thats when I started with my lock. Also if you look at the lance it says level 77.

With Patch 3.1.2 the price of the Argent Hippogryph is being lowered from 250 Champion's Seals to a much more reasonable 150 Champion's Seals. This should make the grind for this mount much easier now. Also, with 3.1.2, all of the ground mounts will recieve new textures (or colour swaps if that's what you want to call them). This also means that if you purchase a ground mount now, with the new patch, the mount will change to the newer version automatically. The old mounts will then become avaliable for 5 Champion's Seals and 500 Gold.It will now take 30 days to get the Argent Hippogryph, down from the insane 50 days. It will still take a while, but if you're like me and have been doing the tournament for some time, you should be very close to the 150 Seals. I'm only 5 days away, and would probably be on target if I hadn't missed a few days out. Prepare to see some on your server after the next patch much sooner than expected.EDIT: I just logged on today to check out the new mounts, and faction discounts apply to the old mounts, so it will be 400 Gold and 5 Champion's Seals at Exalted with the faction's mount. Also, with the new patch, the Champion's Purse you get from doing Champion dailies can award Champion's Seals if you're lucky enough!
I didn't see my tactics for easy jousting on here, so here's what I do:1) Buff up to three shields (duh)2) Talk to the target3) Strafe away from the target (90 degree angle) or whatever means of keeping a good range from them while they set up you are most comfortable with4) Throw a shield breaker the moment it's available (should be quick)5) Follow up with a charge6) Spam your melee (#1) attack while charging, it will hit them immediately after the charge hits, doing damage with them at only 1 shield7) Hit the Shield buff as you move away from them8) Immediately turn around to throw another shield breaker, maintaining range to hit charge after the GCD from the Shield Breaker (as that's when it'll be ready.9) Rinse and repeat10) Profit!
I'm so excited the flyer is only 150 now, I was planning on saving for it. I already have the crusader title and I think i have at least 140 seals. Only a couple more days! =)
I find a better tactic is to:
I can confirm that valiant dailies can no longer be acquired once you have become a champion for each of your faction's races. If you aren't that interested in the final two titles ("of " and "Crusader") and the mount/pet, I would advise you to not turn in the final Valiant's Charge quest. This way, you can still do the four dailies à 13 Gold 23 Silver a day, two of which don't require any extra time spent. Additionaly, if you're not yet exalted with said race, you still get 250 rep for each turn-in, making the purchase of Champion's Writs unnecessary and adding another 10 G per champion daily to your profits.
