The problem is the whole World Event achievement set. How can it really be considered a big achievement to watch the calendar and throw flower petals on someone during a specific week? Blizzard shouldn't have put these achievements in in the first place. The reason for this? You can miss them. Then you have to wait and entire year just to get a little achievement done. I wouldn't mind if they removed the entire set of achievements along with the proto-drake. Blizzard just wants to encourage those people who play off-and-on to have a running subscription.
I'm pretty happy that BotY has been removed to tell ya the truth. I just managed to get enough currency for the membership on October 1st, so I missed out on the Binary Brew. Not only that but for some reason my achievement wasn't updating for 2-3 other brews after that. I was not looking forward to being forced to get enough tokens for the Brewfest Regalia AND the membership... That's a whopping 550 tokens based on last Brewfest's prices. I was one of those people that got hypnotized by the Pony Keg (I prefer having more visible souvenirs than clothes) and bought that instead of the clothes. If I still have to buy the membership again, I'll still be a bit upset that I still have to get 550 tokens but at least I won't have to wait like 4 months to get the achieve. In related news, as one who has never done the Nobel Garden event I am not prepared for it so I'm glad that, although they added it to the meta-achievement, they extended the duration to a week so I will have a chance at getting a feel for what I have to do and getting the achievements.I apologize for the long-winded post in advance lol.
I think it's good that they changed Brew of the Year but not The Love Fool, Brew of the Year info was not widely known during the Brewfest event, while 'Be Mine' could easily have been figured out and even if you didn't get it this year it would not take an ENTIRE year to get a proto drake, you would just get your proto drake a few months after the first people.
This is rediculous... Blizz should have never caved on this... I have managed to do all of the seasonals so far since their induction. Its supposed to be a long crazy trip is it not? I'm sorry but this is just making me more and more @#$%ed off with Blizz. the silver lining... activision-blizzard stock has been going up despite all other economic trends so as long as blizz keeps caving to the stupid QQ's and dumbing down the game to get more players, I'll make more money...
World of Warcraft is basically a way for Blizzard to make money. The way this is done is through monthly subscriptions paid by players who enjoy the game. I don't think Blizzard is caving to the whines of a thousand noobs. Instead I see it as listening to what the players think, and keeping those who pay their bills happy.
So far I have every Achievement starting from Winter Veil, and I worked hard for all of them.I just don't think it's fair that people that didn't get the Achievement in the allotted time and just get it because Blizzard pitied them. A lot of us got it, because we worked hard. Is Blizzard implying that you don't have to work hard to get things, because later they will be nerfed and you will get them anyways?
It would be fair because the achievement is called What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been! that means if you can get the card earlier you can get the drake earlier -_- all the people was lazy to get the card should wait longer than the other ones that did it for FUN before the achis were even in the game.
Great. So now instead of an achievement that just requires preparation, work, and dedication, we get to attempt for achievements tied to a random dice roll that we can only get on Easter. I preferred the Brew of the Month club version, not the one where you had to do Noblegarden stuff.
not whining but i can have some understanding about some achievements. For example the luck achievement was not very nice really, love is in the air was worse because it only lasted 5 days and more than half the achievement needed dropped from the gifts or pledge you could get once in the hour. I think that was unfair to be honest. Skip luck achievement.on the other hand i think it was unfair nerfing the brew membership achievement bcs even if you did not do it last year bcs achievement system was not released, you should still not get a freebie. Wait for your time jisses.*edit* Yes i am one of them who never did any brewfest achievements.
Did everyone overlook the fact that it seems "Lovely Luck Is On Your Side" is now part of the meta-achievement? ... sucks for those that didn't get it (like me). Why *ADD* stuff all of a sudden?
Although I am PO'd about the removal of BotY from the meta even when Blizz said they were fine with it, I am quite happy they added BotM in it's place AND redid Noblegarden. I just hope that the patch comes before Noblegarden is supposed to start or we are all screwed until 2010 and removing BotY would have been a waste.
Whatever happened to people not getting everything possible in the game. When I first started playing it seemed like there were certain unattainable items and goals, it lent things an air of mystery. I feel that in the short time since I've started (about 8 months) this mystery is gone, everything is available to everyone, and I have to say I miss it. It might just be being more familiar with the game, but I wish there more things that are impossible for the average player to gain.
They're changing the easter thingy too. Noblegarden. It's going to last one week and be a requirement in the meta-achievement.So either 3.1 is going to be released within 1 month's time, or Blizzard will make us all wait a whole year. :P
I don't think it's pandering, or caving, or whatever you want to call it. It's Blizzard responding to honest feedback. They can't keep WoW going if the only people who play are the "hardcore" people who play nonstop, day after day after day. Get over yourselves. It's a cool mount that a lot of people want. Why should they demand all of our time and effort to attain it? It's still relatively difficult to get, and still takes a decent measure of dedication. I don't know about you guys but I know a ton of people on my server who had literally everything but the Candy Heart achievement, despite forgoing raids and such in order to keep trying. And the Brewfest one? That was ridiculous. Making players wait a year (if you actually spent your tokens on the Brew of the Month club this past year) or more, without warning of the potential significance of such a reward, is ludicrous. Good move on Blizzard's part imo. Shows they still realize that there are real people on the other end of the game.
