I think its a good idea and I like all the restrictions. After it becomes popular or shows the restrictions to be major restraints then I figure they will patch it. If it opens to lower levels I think the req. should be level 60, which is when you are able to max out a full talent tree.Other then that I think this will solve/obsolete PuGs slowly.
I do like this. As a hybrid, I can be a hybrid. No more assing from place to place to spec resto! Though at low levels, you seriously DON'T need to be holy or resto Paah. I healed Slabs as full enhance with 0 spellpower from gear, didn't even think to drop on some Flametounge. But this is all speculation, for low levels is not yet on the board. Though Bliz is silly to say "If it proves popular." Every 80 and their mother will be duel spec'd 2min after the patch brings it in. OFC it will be popular.
This way you will get ppl roll on gear that there not specced for atm, while the person that is specced for it will miss the loot. If you're in groups with idiots like that, seriously, blacklist them. NOBODY should EVER roll Need on an off spec item if there is someone in the raid / party that needs the upgrade for their main spec. It might become an issue if nobody really needs it, increasing the Greed rolls by a bit, but common sense should be enough to keep most people from using Dual Specs as an excuse to do stupid ****.If you're contributing to your raid in your current spec and a drop is an upgrade for you, Need on it. You're not serving that party with your off spec at all, so they should have no reason to cater to it at the time. Problem solved.
Is this going to be a shot at FFXI where you can learn every spec? I know, at least for me, that's part of the reason I still play FFXI is that I can be a warrior then a ranger then a mage then a warrior again.
The dual set of action bars is great. I hope they give a complete set of all bars per spec, and not just one extra bar that flips (or something equally lack-luster).Also, for all those talent-based skill, I hope they keep the button on the action bars for that spec so that you don't lose it each time you flip specs. It's so annoying to hunt through the spell book to re-load your StormStrike, Shamanistic Rage, Lava Lash, Nature's Swiftness, Cleanse Spirit, Earth Shield, etc.
Ever since I've heard this I though it was a good thing since I'm always respeccing for pve and pvp. Now I can have both and change depending on what I'm wanting to do.. yay!Is this going to be a shot at FFXI where you can learn every spec? I know, at least for me, that's part of the reason I still play FFXI is that I can be a warrior then a ranger then a mage then a warrior again.think ur thinking more of class. if your a war then you can't change to mage.. you can change from say fury to prot. atleast thats the way I took the info
MAX LEVEL ONLY?NO.What about all of us trying to level healing-capable classes as a healing SPEC?HUH?WTB DPS and HEAL spec for my poor Resto Shammy stuck at level 67 because I don't want to level a healer solo ANY LONGER./sighBut, hey, whoo, now I can spec my hunter for utility and DPS or for PvP and PvE. Nice.

Will players be able to save them for the talent spec they’re running?Ghostcrawler: Yes, you will be able to save hotbars and use them with your talent specs. It just saves your bars at the same time as it saves the glyphs and talents. If you want to switch to your other action bar, you will need to change specs. While it doesn't exactly mention specific talent abilities staying on the hotbar when you change spec, I'm sure that it's implied when they say it will "save" your hotbar
Wow, I was expecting them to handle this a LOT better. The max level thing is ridiculous for a start. I was SO looking forward to being able to switch out of Tanking and Fury once I hit Outlands on my Warrior. Guess not. And the Lexicon of Power thing? Eugh. Fair enough in the cities, I'd have MUCH rather it having a long CD changing out of cities or whatnot. Not everyone is a hardcore raider with a scribe always next to them. Or perhaps even paying some amount of gold to change out of cities (Yes, I'd even prefer that)Yes, this is essentially me taking everything for granted and yes it's better than nothing and yes this is QQ.But I'm still severly dissapointed.I agree but atleast we have Dual Specs for now, hopefully they will make this system better in the future. Also, no more spending 500g a week to respec, awesome!
I think I'll still continue visiting wowhead talent calculator for as long as it exists. After 2 and a half years of every day use I kinda got used to it lol.
this is great and all...im really excited about more glyphs+hot bars (so glad i just rerolled drood =) perfect timing)BUT!we have to go a city each time we want to change specs or have a inscriptionist with us? AND! if we are inscription... we cant do it solo! come on blizz.... make the lexicon summoning single player needed and let there be more lexicons spread through out the world!
All I can see here is ppl QQing about how they think that it can be changed. Lets see.1, We had NOTHING i repeat NOTHING like this before. So this saves up 100g easily a week. 2, Blizzard have implemented this in a smart way. It stops you running around doing dailies in a good grind spec, spotting a horde (Im alliance) switching to PvP and pew pew said horde then switch back to Grind and keep going. The multiple people required is obviously for a raid situation in 10/25 man where you need someone right away. Be glad they are giving this to us and stop QQing
This is awesome, and nothing good comes easy, but if you look at how they are setting it up its gonna be mainly a raid utility. I need something to qq about...uhh raid ids should be spec specific now
No, because certain classes can't get into groups in certain specs. So does that mean that spec gets no gear? Just as an example, what if a Paladin specs Holy/Ret and good DPS gear drops but hes the group healer, he can't roll on it? That seems pretty unfair to the guy who just kept you alive long enough to get the item to drop.True. But I think no matter how the loot is determined, it's going to be unfair to someone. Otherwise Dual Spec WILL invite everyone to roll on anything and everything. The vast majority of groups that I've noticed fighting over loot have (obviously) been pugs. I've seen it mentioned that DS should help cut down on the need to pug, since one can swap specs 'on the fly' to join more select groups. If this is true, then maybe there will be less arguing over loot than you'd think. I.e. the group will have an idea of the actual needs of the individuals and be able to allow for better distribution of gear. But then, time will tell.Maybe they could say what they want to loot on before going into the instance. That way you could be healer and roll on the DPS gear. And the healing gear would go to other players or greed roll or something like that. I think that would be good idea.It certainly couldn't hurt. If you are clear to the group about what you are interested in ahead of time, it should at least cut down on the possibility of a minor war when it's time to loot. Especially if the item in question is a specific something-or-other that a DPS player in the group was waiting for.
I just hope that you don't need to HAVE inscription to set up the ritual. It would be a great way for inscriptioners to make some money out of it.If you do restrict it to Inscriptioners only, it's merely an easy to switch, free, respec instead of being a useful feature in both raids or specific heroics where you would need an extra healer real quick (for certain achievements for example).Second point, I'm not sure if there is a lexicon of power in Dalaran? If there is, than it would still be a neat feature. if there isn't one in Dalaran, they better add one! :(
Nethaera: Will you be able to switch gear easily to match your spec?Ghostcrawler: At the same time we implement dual specs, we will also be setting up a gear system. The feature is called “Gear Manager.” It can also be used to just swap weapons or trinkets or put on that tuxedo to strut around town. It will not automatically switch your gear when you change your talent spec, but it will allow for an easy gear change between them. The feature may not be fully functional immediately in the PTR, but we’ll have more information to share about it before too much longer. This one made me a bit unsure, as I like my saleRack mod and don't want to be relegated to using something like itemRack or outfitter again...for the purpose of simple gear profiles both itemRack and outfitter are just bloat.
Max level only! WTF! I wanna instance my druid as a healer while I level, without having to respec! Blizz is retarded even in their greatest ideas.
Sounds pretty good :) but it wont provide such big difference to rogues since most do fine in pvp with pve specc... i know i do, anyway now i can go mutilate in pve and shadowdance in pvp...that is when this comes. Besides this is and excellent thing for all the casters, only "problem" will be that ppl will roll for all items req for both speccs so they wont gear fast enuf, but mb thats a good thing :D (all the omgwtf raiders with 100% epic before i get lvl 80 ruins the game) :O
Reading comments here I seriously fear the future of the human race. Come on people! That they make dual spec an option in game changes NOTHING with regards to hybrid classes and gear distribution in instances. You get the loot for the role you play, as a holy paladin you can currently spec retri as soon as the instance is over. The exact same way you will be once dual spec is in-game. Only difference is that you don't have to override the glyphs and you save money the new way.I cannot believe the whining going on. This is a buff to everybody. I am looking forward to it :)
this saves a lot of gold for respec's and it would be nice to switch beetween enhancement and elemental without paying a lot of gold
