Thanks for the heads up Mal. Keep in mind that this is a serious topic, and flames such as "IE sucks" will be removed.
I use FireFox ^^
Not flaming, but Firefox is generally more secure than IE.Addons such as Noscript and Adblocker also boost the security.
Got my Authenticator!
I use FireFox ^^I use firefox too but if i sometimes use IE ill keep this strongly in mind. Quite serious this topic so i better tell my friends about this. YOU who reads this should do that too.Cheers Malgayne! This post will help everybody! ^^
Note that the article does mention that other browsers like: Firefox, Opera, etc... are not affected by the hole in IE (because they are not IE) and are a safer alternative (at least until you get today's patch).
Authenticator + Firefox FTW! lolEven when the patch fixes the issue, there will still always be those that are looking for new ways, and trying to steal accounts.Seriously, for $6.50, I honestly have no idea why people would not make this tiny investment to secure all the hard work they have put into their toons...And before people start with the it's only available in America...no, it is available pretty much everywhere...I am in Australia and I got mine on Monday, after ordering last Wednesday...
Update IE or use an alternative (and better nav), like Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Chrome...
I love Firefox. It's free, and it automatically spellchecks my posts, underlining misspelled words in red. Apparently today it does not like the word "spellchecks" and wishes me to change it.It doesn't hurt that I can also use ad-block on any graphic I never want to see again.
You should be using Firefox anyway. IE isn't secure at all, and this post is painfully under-researched. It's already been stated that a simple "update" is NOT enough to fix this exploit.
Anyone know if this is part of the Windows Automatic update? Or am I going to have to manually tell it to update?Cheers!
People who do not use Firefox + NoScript deserve to be keylogged imo
People who do not use Firefox + NoScript deserve to be keylogged imoI don't use NoScript.
Anyone know if this is part of the Windows Automatic update? Or am I going to have to manually tell it to update?Cheers! The Patch was released today, however as mentioned above, the update/patch may not actually be a complete fix.
I don't use NoScript.Me neither. I guess it's for being safe while looking for pr0n.
I don't even use Firefox, I'm using google chrome. Analyzing memory numbers showed it's more efficient.
Some1 using IE?
Some1 using IE?Yes, a few weeks ago. IE 7 isn't that bad, really. I can't use it anymore, because I switched to a Mac. :)
I use FireFox ^^I downloaded Firefox because of the IE holes...
Thanks Malgayne. This now shows me how glad I am I switched to FireFox.
