The most epic drop i have gotten would be the non-combat pet Firefly after farming 8 days and lost count of kills after 3000 i was about to go to bed for the night and then it dropped Captured Firefly, i nearly fell into a coma i ran around the house waking everyone up cheering "FINALLY I GOT THE LITTLE BUG!" and now when i walk in org i get many tells "where you get that firefly?" i have a reply macro i get that many. I love that little fly!
So there i was . . . a wet-behind-the-ears rogue in Black Rock Spire a few years ago, three of my real life brothers at my side, one of them leading the raid. I was there for experience and loot but wasn't expecting anything and then it dropped . . . The Felstriker . . . oh yes my friends every rogues wet dream, an epic dagger Rend also dropped the blue quality eye patch (another rogue item). There was only one other rogue in the raid, my heart was pounding, beads of sweat formed on my upper lip, my mouth went dry in the hopes that my roll would win the dagger. My brothers whispered me with explitives that i dare not say on here but to sum it up was basically oh my goodness. My brother called out to roll for the dagger then whoever lost won the eye patch. I wait for the other rogue to roll, he rolls a 27 (i believe it was) i am feeling great at this point, the congratulations start to trickle in from my brothers. I wait a few seconds in the hopes it increases my odds . . . I roll . . . 63! My heart skipped a beat. Then . . . the unthinkable happend. The other rogue looted the corpse first and grabbed the BOP epic dagger. All hell broke loose, names were called, his guildmaster was contacted . . . long story short the rogue got the dagger, i got the eye patch, the game went on but the bitterness still lingers . . . oh how it lingers.
Even though I've gotten much better weapons for when they were gained in Wrath I think that the most epic feeling was my first two-hander from a 40-man raid, the obsidian edged blade. I really loved that sword. I still have it in my original warrior's bank.
Ah. This event happened back in the day, a couple of years ago when I was pushing 60 on my first char and entered WPL to farm some old school argent dawn rep. Suddenly some lowbies (say lvl 28 or so) comes rushing out of the forest chased by a spider. Helpfull as I am, I threw some good old nukage on the Spidey, and saved the lives of the hordlings. The lowbies were trying to get to tarren mill, and was totally lost. I explained the way, they thanked me, and walked on. When i turned back to loot the spider I saw purple for the first time ever. Kang the Decapitator! It was so cool. I couldnt restrain myself from telling them what had dropped. Guess if they were awestruck..Now, 4 decked out chars later, Kang isnt really all that. But to me, at that timeIt was epic to the max.
My best epic loot was in fact epic loots. My first time through Kara I was off tanking, and lucked out and had 5 upgrades drop for me. It was a great night, though a Red Bearon would be a 'new' great for the book. :)
my best time ever was when I ran a trash pug for sunwell it was my first time (and I have bad luck with loots) we had like 3 other priests going for the wand that dropped off the mobs....well with only 10mins left in the pug we pulled the mobs to the door to not aggro the robot and killed them....keep in mind the other priests were so mad it hadn't dropped they all had left but me and some other healers that didn't really need it. well the last mob they looted had my wand in it... I literally yelled at the top of my lungs and woke up my wife with it being 3am.... man I showed off that wand everytime I logged on and I will forever keep it in my bank that was the my best time on the game so I would say it was my most epic moment.
It's never easy to decide which has been more "epic" in my WoW experiences.Being a tauren druid standing in Ironforge for over 2100 fishing casts trying to catch Old Ironjaw (but never getting it - despite being killed about 20 times), or giving up and going to Orgrimmar to finish Crocolisks in the City and catching Baby Crocolisk AND Old Crafty on my first cast.Or maybe it was finally getting my Captured Firefly after killing in the neighborhood of 1800 Bogflare Needlers, only to have Blizzard change the pet system and make the flavor text not visible anymore ("Still flying...").I suppose it may be the time I spent about two weeks every night running into Lower Blackrock Spire with my girlfriend (her druid, my priest) to get her a pair of Wildheart Boots and never seeing them drop, then going in just after Wrath of the Lich King released on my own druid (to complete the Classic Dungeonmaster achievement) and getting them on my first kill of Mother Smolderweb. As memorable as those experiences have been, I think it would have to be running Sethekk Halls on heroic for the first time ever to complete Vanquish the Raven God for my swift flight form, and not only completing the run as the only groupmate who didn't die at least once, but also seeing the Reins of the Raven Lord drop and winning the roll with a 12. I still think Anzu is one of the most unique mounts available and ride that one everywhere I run.
the happiest moment was when i drew my first leeroy jenkins in the epic azeroth times ;)leeeeeroy ftw!greez
Hmmm... the most epic piece of loot that I have ever obtained in my years of playing WoW... I'm going to have to go with Quickstrider Moccasins, they drop off Anetheron from the 25 man raid instance; Hyjal Summit... they served me well until the level of 80 in the new expansion and I still have them in bank, won't get rid of those boots, I love them.
