Nice :D Thinking of level my cooking skill ^^
Thanks for great guide! It is indeed frustrating to have everything green and have to depend on the daily for supplies!
Leveling cooking right now is hellish. :)To go from 419 skill to 425 took 167 synths. Then I bought the two feasts that took 425 skill and they went green at like 445 skill about 30 more synths later. Once you go green you might as well give up the ghost or resign yourself to a ton of synths to get the last few points. I'm at 446 right now, and hoping for some new recipes soon. Though...I could use some Snapper Extreme I guess...
So where do we go now to farm Chilled Meat? I used to ravage the rhinos in BT, since there are tons of them, they are grouped, and I am tankadin. And I could get Rhino Meat. Now I can't think of many animals that drop the CM - Sholazar Basin ones (various birds, cats...) and that's all I can muster.
Great guide! This will help me a lot when i raise my cooking a bit ;) Working on it already.
The guide is ok but this person made the foolish mistake of trying to max cooking using small feasts. I leveled my cooking to max using the Critterbites Recipe and about 3-4 days worth of the northern spices. Almost any kind of AoE dps can take out any of the roaming packs of animals or even just farm the crazy amount of beasts in grizzly hills for tons of the chilled meat needed for Critter Bites. If you don't want to put 10-12 hours a day in farming obscure meats. My solution is Don't just don't its a waste of your time. It takes damn near forever to get your cooking recipes from dalaran cooking awards. So take your time with leveling cooking but if you are a rusher like I was Critter bites = first recipe then 3-4 days worth of dalaran rewards for buying northern spices and boom you win. Thanks for playing.
Lucky you. :/ I crafted over 50 sets of Critter Bites (each one gives 4 Bites, I think) and only got 2 skill points. Remember, the higher "level" a recipe is in, even if it's green, the better your chance of skill-ups. Ultimately it's a grind no matter what so might as well just take your time and craft stuff you'll actually use, or can sell.
I noticed the armor pen food is MUCH better for lvling than any of the others until 425. It also stayed green longer than the other recipes, so I would have to disagree when the article says "Basically every recipe has the same chance of earning you skill-ups".
Presently 447 in Cooking.Last night. I spent 42 Northern Spices (and 42 Moonglow) to achieve 1 skill point. That's well worth a month of doing the cooking daily everyday.Blizzard needs to tone that down, absolutely absurd, or at least make the Fishing Feast a 440 recipe so we can get some decent skill-ups for the price of more materials.I can't fathom how anyone got realm firsts without help from their guild entirely (even with using all your tokens to buy more Northern Spices, you still have to buy some recipes to get past the block stages and only Spices x5 a pop.)For all you cooks out there that reach the 440 mark, unless you're getting some initial help, god help you all.
Nice article man!======================MikeCooking
