When i had just turned 70 i was in this newbie guild who helped newbs like me get greens and superior gear, it was around the time where Arena season 2 was about half way threw its season and people were on to tier 5 items. Well the guild was wiping on Curator, we didn't have the DPS to down him, i was in full blues with frozen shadoweave epics and thought i was the shiznits but only had 800+ spell damage on my mage. The most epic item i've got was my s2 merciless spell blade, i jumped dps so much and had a bunch to brag, that made me a raid leader which didn't last much because the gulid disbanded about a month later but got me to a t5 raiding guild which i'm now on, this guild got me all my new lewts to come and got me to BT and now we're doing great on naxx. I believe at the time my beautiful spell blade gave me the courage to step out of my shell and go to a better raiding guild. thank you s2 spell blade <3 lol
My most epic drop would probably be the first epic I got, a world-drop Lifestone in Winterspring while levelling my first character, my druid.
Good epic items for me are always also at the start of a new expansion. I seem to have guild problems and wind up having to go haywire rerolling/transfering upon expansion, so getting into a nice guild and getting your first epic in a clean setting is a good feelign as well. This time around it was Flamebeard's Bracers from Heroic AN
I got 'The Stoppable Force'. The end.
my epic lewt was my warlocks tier .5 set i spent so much time and money and when i finally got it all was right ^^
The most epic loot, i got to say it was when my guild was doing MC(back in the day) about 50% of the raid was falling asleep, then the Main Tank gets dc after a 10 min afk. So we didnt had no MT and out of nowhere a few people pulled few mobs...some died but Skullflameshield droped. Every1 needed on it(me too) a priest won the roll, but as result of no MT(i was still gearing up for Tanking) he gave me the shield for me to Off tank. The priest got Benediction that night(kinda like what goes around comes around). and up to this date i still carry that Shield.=) --->Jalisco lvl 75 Prot pally in Galakrond.
My most epic loot was my judgment shoulders from BWL. This completed my tier 2 set. I miss pre-BC.
Getting http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25402 on the mob that got me level 70. :D
Definitely Don Santos' Famous Hunting Rifle, for being the first world drop epic that I ever actually used. I've had a couple world drop epics drop in the past, but nothing I could actually use.
After a very long time grinding rep I got my "Ambassador" title yesterday. It might not be a Epic item but it took an epic amout of time to get. I basicly had to do each race's beginning to mid 20's quests after reaching 70.
I will never forget the most epic loot I ever received. I play as Wullfgar, a paladin on Dethecus, and my friend was Espiritu, a rogue. We were probably in the late level 40's, pre-BC, and were going for the stranglethorn vale arena trinket. When we arrived, there were two 60's. We had planned it ahead of time so that I ran into the arena about fifteen minutes before the chest drop, and logged out. He then stealthed in, and told me when to log in (so I was right next to the chest). The two of us, with my stuns and repentence and his sap and stuns, were literally able to CC the two 60s long enough for me to open the chest and get the trinket. BARELY got it--they killed us both right afterwards, but we were ecstatic. As lvl 40 somethings, we'd just ninja'd the chest from TWO level 60s. Ah...good times. And the hateful messages they sent us (they were alliance as well) afterwards was truly the cherry on top. I'm kind of hoping one of them reads this so they can add their own memories of it :) PvP ftw.
I'm going to tell you a tale of a time long, long ago...well, a few years, but still, it feels long.My most epic loot drop ever was the Staff of Dominance from Golemagg in Molten Core. But first...a little backstory.I was one of the more under-geared mages in the guild - I still had the staff from ZF at the time. But every night, before the raid began, I would look through atlas loot, thinking to myself "I will get that Staff of Dominance, and I won't spend any DKP before I do."More than a few raids had gone by, and I had no luck so far. I had DKP accumulated to the point beyond anyone else in the guild. But I stuck to my word - I passed on everything - Arcanist, various rings and necklaces, even an Azuresong Mageblade all went to the other players. It was yet another night raiding Molten Core, and I figured, "enough is enough, if Golemagg doesn't drop my staff, I'm taking every bit of loot that I can get." So my guild clears MC - nothing particularly interesting happens. We get to Golemagg, and kill him...silence. My guildmaster didn't say a word...all I saw, in the chat box, was...You receive loot: .
The most epic thing i have ever gotten was my Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers and the Duck Tape staff of Doom (lol). The journey to receive this piece was what made it more special than any other epic, for a hunter at least Pre-BC.To earn it you had to complete a quest. It was how a hunter could truly show their worth and break free from the term "huntard"; knowing how to kite, how to manage multiple mobs, and just knowing all the key mechanics of a hunter. I of course saved the best demon for last, Solenor the Slayer in Silithus. I had nearly every buff on me with my guild mates cheering from the side lines. I executed everything perfectly, killed all the beetles and wing clipped him so he'd be crippled. Finally, the demon jumped into the air and dispersed into bats, knowing he was defeated. I was shocked for a good 30 seconds before i could believe that I actually defeated the last demon. Truly, this was the 4 most epic battles I have been through to get one of the most legendary bows in its time. I still keep both in my backpack for good luck even today. It's sad that there is not a quest around anymore like this because I've seen many hunters that need to go through this; many don't even know how to kite.
I was getting bored farming in Storm Peaks so I decided to browse wowhead and make a wish list, I chose 2 trinkets, but upon learning that one of them (Je'tze's Bell) was a BoP WOLD DROP, my heart sank and i went back to grinding, I wasn't in a good mood but I decided to do a heroic, as we ere nearing the end, my heart exploded in my chest, there, on the boss... was my trinket, I couldn't even type, my eyes were wide and all i could doe was type "Mine" and "Gimme" in chat over and over... I Rolled need and the lock heldd off on her roll, I begged and pleaded and she said "Just kidding" and passed, I got my trinket less than 1 day after hitting 80, I was so happy and astonished that I got up and jumped around. And that.. is my epic story.
The Horseman's Mount!
On my old EU account I played a warrior. I didn't realy have time to raid back then and my PvP dreams quickly died out because of the nature of that horrible grind. I was mostly hangin' around with my blue valor, but I had a dream - The Arcanite Reaper. Ever since I saw that axe I wanted it.I was a blacksmith and used my little rogue for god knows how many hours farming the rare guy in LBRS for the plans but they never droped. Still I got lucky and a friend of mine hooked me up with it real cheap. Phase 1 was over !With renewed determination I proceded to phase 2. For days I circled around Un'Goro for Rich Thorium and hoping for a Crystal on each vein. With patience I had all the mats and behold ! There it was in my hands - my brand new spanking shining Arcanite Reaper. An iconic weapon of the early days.Ofcoarse the time of that axe had already passed but still I was realy proud with myself and people still stoped and said "Oh, and Arcanite Reaper, cool."That was probably the most epic item for me ever.
I remember first coming to Outland on my hunter and running down the steps to get to the next town in Hellfire, only to see those big elite mobs in front of me. So I figured maybe it was some kind of cool event I could help out in, so I tried to fight the Pit Commander there multiple times, but every time I died. So then I tried to run around him to see if i could maybe just skip the fight entirely, only to be stopped by more elites around him.Severely frustrated I logged off and waited til the next day to see if my friend was on to help me fight the pit commander since he was level 70. When I asked him he laughed at me for a while and told me to look for the flight master near there. I flew to Thrallmar in nothing but red gear. :(I guess the whole invading demons bit was so overwhelming I forgot to turn to the right to see the flight master.
I got the Finkle's Lava Dredger from a Molten Core raid back in my level 60 days. This is the most epic item that i love. I still have this item and will bust it out here and there and people are like where did you get that i want one. lol the look itself is epic too. fricken love it.
My "most epic loot drop" ever isn't a piece of gear, but a pet I was lucky enough to tame.I'm an avid Petopia reader, and a bit of a beast hunter wonk, so when I started hearing rumors of a tamable ghost wolf I had to go check it out. So out I wander to ol' Duskwallow marsh and, low and behold, it's true! When I beast lored the beautiful little beast and saw that tamable tag I just knew I had to have it.I cleaned out my bank to afford the items I needed and was lucky enough to have an old socketed helm lying about I could use, but I could not for the life of me get a group! I looked for 3 days for an appropriate group of people to go help me tame my little love, and on that 3rd day, I finally found them. So off we tromped to Duskwallow and started attempting the now legendary 8 sec tame. First try, we accidently killed the ghost wolves when they spawned, second try, the leather worker didn't pop his drums quick enough, but on that magical third try, everything went perfectly, and I had my dream pet.The thing that makes this tame even more epic is that the very next day Blizzard hotfixed the wolves to be untamable once again! I'm one of two hunters on my server that managed to pull off the tame in time and my beautiful little wolf still trots by my side. Her name is Nyx and she's lvl 72 and growing, come visit us on Vashj sometime!
Winning my Paladin's first epic after a tied roll of 100, then a tied roll of 3. I won on a 69.
