Back in the day, when I was lvl 60 (that was huh..4 years ago?) I was drooling at epics that were on auction houses. Probably because at this time only a few guilds were able to actually attempt a raid on molten core, and epics were rare (yes, long time ago epics were rare). I was playing a rogue and I was going crazy about Krol Blade, I loved the looks, I was amazed by the stats and of course - purple name. I remember nights when I was thinking how could I get it, I was reading forums, asking people how they got their Krol's. Finally on one of WoW Database websites I have noticed that level 60 mobs in Winterspring have the highest chance of dropping a Krol Blade. How much was it? Uhh.. 0.3% maybe? Anyway.. I have spent over 6 days in winterspring killing bears. SIX DAYS. I got nothing, not even a blue item, n-o-t-h-i-n-g. Everyone in my guild knew that I'm crazy about Krol Blade, they costed about 800g then, and it was A LOT of money. On my birthday, which I was convinced noone knew about, my guildmate asked me if I could help him summon our guildmate to Ironforge so yeah, I helped him and we have summoned our mate. Out of nowhere a few people from my guild appeared, they formed a circle around me and one of them gave me the Krol Blade. What happened? I was so consumed by farming I didn't really pay any attention to the guild chat, I was totally bored and without hope. They decided to collect donations from my guildies and so they did, they got enough gold to get me the Krol Blade, I was literally @#$%ing myself. In my whole WoW career I've never been so happy, the holy grail, the Krol Blade was finally mine. It wasn't a drop, but the whole ceremony created by my guildies was absolutely epic and that definitely was the best moment in WoW for me.Thanks for reading :)
Probably the most exciting battle with the finish of getting this item, never going to forget the Illidan fight, let alone the day i got this over half the warlocks in my raid, good stuff, will miss fights like Illidan.
I would have to say when I was farming to level up engineering to 375. I saw that khorium scopes were the best way to go and I had seen that the drop rate sucked. I had no choice but to go for it. So that day I grinded the 12 or so mobs that can potentially drop it, I made a nice little circular route around a sunfury building in Netherstorm. Hours passed...nothing. Same thing the next day, nothing after 5 hours of grinding. After 5 days I came to the conclussion that it was useless to go this much or I would shoot myself. I decided to do the daily quest for the Sunfury Attack Plans, why not kill two birds with one stone, ya know? and once that would drop that day I would stop grinding. Another week goes by and nothing. So by now, I've had enough. I'm sick of sunfurys, I'm sick of their stupid signets, and I'm sick of those stupid mana worms that feel the need to appear out of nowhere when youre trying to mount up >.< So as I was about to walk away from the quest giver something inside me says, just give it one more shot, it wouldn't hurt. I grab the quest, port myself to area 52, and head over to farm some more. I sigh, take aim, and start yet another slaughtering. But what's this? first mob I kill? Could it be? I couldn't believe it, I rubbed my eyes and pinched myself to see if I was dreaming. It was the khorium scope schematic! My face filled with joy. Immediatly afterwards it met with the surface of my desk. Where I slept like a baby for about an hour lol. Epic grinding -> Epic Drop -> Epic Nap
