Unevolved Silithid Grub, only found in the Pet Journal, with the source listed as "Silithus: The Wound"

Scorpid Skitterer, only found in the wild around Silithus, but still not in the Pet Journal. Currently can't even be battled against.

Doomsayer Robes, listed currently as a drop from "World Creatures" will likely also be linked to the event to happen in the Wound.

God I am super excited for this! I hope we can tame the new rares, too, that'd be dope.

Give me the creepy crawly mounts. Give.

Finally, we can be the doomsayer once more!

Uh if we are retiring our artifacts in 7.3.5, then why would any new rares drop an AP token? Makes no sense, unless we actually retire them in BfA

I doubt we'll retire them when 7.3.5 hits. What other weapons are we going to use?

Some blues from timewalking dungeons.

Maybe we go through the story of "retiring" our artifacts but practically keep them till 8.0

Comment by Truweil

I hope they do more of the silithid pets that match the mount colors.

A wizard did it.

Harsh language? xD

It's just the lore explanation. Artifacts will remain fully functional ingame until 8.0, and maybe even after that, to preserve the Legion flow of progression.

Comment by Chalice

at least let the story be like this: "after absorbing the corruption's power, our artifact become broken and nearly destroyed, so the quality of the weapon downgraded to rare quality item with 750 ilvl and no traits left"

so players still able to memorizing their weapons instead of totally deleting our artifact weapons

None of these posts have said we're retiring them in 7.3.5, only that there were hints as to how we'll be doing the retiring. Or did I miss something?

Comment by Nulgar

That's very likely what it'll be. There's no indication at all that the weapons are destroyed even lore-wise, our lore avatars will likely use the power gathered during their time in the Broken Isles and channel that into the sword or similar, maybe returning the Artifacts to their former state.

As it's just the lore reason that we won't continue to use the Artifacts, it can happen at any time after Antorus is completed - the events of 7.3.5 likely take place a few days or weeks afterwards, so that's as a good point in time as any. Gameplay-wise, we'll continue using them until we replace them in the beginning of BfA, we won't lose the items themselves, maybe they get changed to static weapons in 8.0, with e.g. a fixed iLvl per level (for alts etc.)

I hope the rare Silithids aren't the only tameable versions of those new skins. Taming brand new rares is a pain in the butt.

Just because they're gone in lore doesn't mean they're gone in gameplay.

They'll likely be like Legion rares. Super quick respawn timer, with either a daily loot reset or one time loot.

Also true for Argus as in lore the portal is closed but in gameplay, the cutscene for the Argus intro means Argus will still be in the sky for THAT character until they kill Argus the Unmaker on any difficulty.
