Albatross Chick: Many sailors believe that harming an albatross will bring terrible luck upon their voyage.

Eldritch Manafiend: Once a manafiend consumes enough ley energy, it becomes more agressive and twisted. Approach with extreme caution.

Erudite Manafiend: Mages seek these manafiends to absorb their ley energies.

Felspider: It's just like a regular spider, but fel.

Fledgling Kingfeather: While other species of birds take turns leading the flock during migration, the kingfeather always remains in the lead. Whether this is an effort to help the rest of the flock conserve energy or out of dominance remains unknown.

Fledgling Oliveback: Always in its brother's shadow.

Juvenile Scuttleback: Juvenile describes this scuttleback's age, not its maturity.

Olivetail Hare: Olivetail is a bit of misnomer, as its whole body is just brown...

Dalaran Pet Battle

Dust Bunny: This very elusive creature like to hide in places where many adventurers don't frequently travel.

Drops

Bleakwater Jelly from Soulthirster, Helheim: When a helsquid has devoured most of the food in any area, it can return to its polyp form and begin life anew.

Crispin from Tenpak Flametotem, Highmountain: Oddly, he was named Crispin even before the incident.

Sewer-Pipe Jelly: Unknown

Son of Goredome from Son of Goredome (related to Brawler's Guild boss Goredome), Stormheim: The proud line of Goredome has been reduced to a joke.

Highmountain Pet Battle

Black-Footed Fox Kit: Often it is red-footed after it catches its prey.

Burrow Spiderling: The front legs of this spider are almost indestructable, allowing it to burrow into almost any surface.

Coralback Fiddler: Even in its juvenile stage, this crab's pincers can break bone.

Felspider: It's just like a regular spider, but fel.

Hog-Nosed Bat: Never say "oink" in its presence.

Long-Eared Owl: Its eyesight is better than its hearing.

Mist Fox Kit: It disappears as quietly and mysteriously as the mist.

Mudshell Conch: Guess what its bed is. A peice of bread.

Spiketail Beaver: Its traveled all the way from New Beavertown.

Professions

Enchanted Cauldron: Straga the Hag enchanted her cauldron to prevent it from tipping over and spilling hot soup. She never expected it to achieve sentience and attempt to murder her.

Enchanted Torch: Strega the Hag didn't like carrying her own torches. One quick enchantment, and the thing would dutifully follow her into the night.

Enchanted Pen: Strega the Hag, tired of lugging water from the well, used her magic to automate the manual labor. Her enchanted buckets, however, had other ideas...

Blingtron 6000 Gift PackageBlingtron 6000

Knockoff Blingtron: Don't want to break the bank on that new robot? Have a little helper at half the cost! Come down to Goblin Experimental Engineering Korporation and put in your order! All sales final.

Quests

Ashmaw Cub, Adopting the Adorable: This little guy has had a rough start at life, be sure to take good care of him.

Emmigosa, quest in Azsuna: The great-great-great-great-great granddaughter of Senegos.

Grumpy, quest in Val'sharah: You saved him, but maybe he saved you.

Stormborne Whelpling, quest in Stormheim: Its scales are electrified, making it exceedingly tricky to cuddle.

Stormheim Pet Battle

Black-Footed Fox Kit: Often it is red-footed after it catches its prey.

Golden Eaglet: These birds often prey on turtles by dropping them from great heights to break open their shell.

Mist Fox Kit: It disappears as quietly and mysteriously as the mist.

Rose Taipan: The last thing you'll see is a streak of red.

Tiny Apparition: It's more cute than spooky.

Unknown

Alarm-o-Bot: For Sale: Slightly used Alarm-o-Bot. Rebuilt and refurbished. Still annoying.

Black Piglet

Leyline Broodling

Thaumaturgical Piglet

Broot: I am Broot.

Brown Piglet

Extinguished Eye: It's down, but not out.

Eye of Inquisition: Hello. Is it me you're looking for?

Fetid Waveling: After a long night out mages find that their water elementals smell a bit off.

Hateful Eye: What are YOU looking at?!

Fledgling Warden Owl

Northern Hawk Owl

Crystalline Broodling

Vicious Broodling

Ridgeback Piglet

Risen Saber Kitten: Eternally cute.

Shadow Whelpling

Skyhorn Nestling: A very rare bird, but this one was intrusted to you.

Thistleleaf Adventurer: Leaving the forest to see the world, which must look so much bigger to such a little guy.

Dream Whelpling

Thornclaw Broodling

Val'sharah Pet Battle

Auburn Ringtail: Is it three white stripes on a brown tail, or two brown stripes on a white tail?

Terror Larva: The nightmare larva seeks a host to feed on their dreams and terrors. Soon the larva will grow into the host's worst fears.

Shimmering Aquafly: On very rare occasions glowflies synchronize their flashing creating a spectacular sight for any adventurer lucky enough to catch this phenomenon.

Slithering Brownscale: These snakes are extrodinarily docile creatures. However, they blend with their environment so well that many adventurers tread too closely to a nest. Most bites result from totally avoidable incidents.

Spring Strider: Striders glow brightest during spring, hence the name.

Vale Flitter: Vale fllitter normally have incredibly long lifespans. That was until people found use for them in pet battles.

VendorsTiffy TrapspringGiada Goldleash

Fel Piglet: Even piglets are not safe from the Legion's corruption. Although, this one seems harmelss enough.

Nightwatch Swooper: These creatures can hunt in almost pure darkness.

Plump Jelly: Once its tentacles take hold there is no escape, much like its love for you.

Breanni

Nursery Spider: Why is it called a nursery spider? Does it prefer to lurk in nurseries? Why would it do that? What does it do there? Oh, dear! Someone check on the kids!

Comment by uniruusu

D: no new kitten models? This this breaks my heart. Also no moose baby pet, the heck don't make it store bought if one is made.

The part about the armor got removed because due to all the data changes, some armor can be quite buggy. We'll make a separate post when armor (and Demon Hunters!) are good to go :)

As the modelviewer required nonstop work since alpha hit to get set up, there may be some cache/incomplete weirdness right after changes. We're noting down any bugs we find and we'll be monitoring its performance closely.

Just a quick FYI to Wowhead staff:
The formatting for the last NPC link in the spiders section is missing the closing ] so the link is broken.

Spiders
Existing spider pets like Amethyst Spiderling do not seem to be affected. However, a few Legion spiders--Blue Broodling, Purple Broodling, Red Broodling, and [npc=99528--use the models below.

Comment by CalaelenDT

Great to see bunnies, squirrels and other vanilla pets getting a model updated, those existing ones was just painful to watch. Darkmoon Rabbit looks even more savage now!

Bit strange they aren't updating the models of other pets though, are there really people who would be upset if their whelpling or owl would be updated to actually look like an owl or whelpling? Just update them all and do the same as with the character models, allow people to pick between the new and old models.

Comment by Syelle

The updated NPCs make me wonder if there might be another Azeroth revamp incoming.

Comment by Nelleh

So stoked to see the older severely dated models receiving an update! Here's hoping they touch up some other offenders, like gnolls and centaur!

Comment by Sounalius

Fel Reaver... *shudder*

Comment by rehlyihmah

Well it's early, maybe they're working on those still - maybe the recolors just haven't been done yet. Or they have, but aren't in game right now. I'd give them time. It seems like a ton of work to update all those models, even if they aren't as compley as the player models, they probably got updated skeletons as well.

Comment by Jackalipo

That should be done! Some Azeroth zones and all outland should receive some updates, the textures in some zone are way outdated!

Comment by CalaelenDT

The updated NPCs make me wonder if there might be another Azeroth revamp incoming.

It's standard procedure to update the models of NPCs that are playing a prominent role in the new expansion.

Comment by Oggudrai

Are there any possibility of checking if some of the racial revamped models have been getting any more tweaks, and uploading them if so?

Might be hard to recognize if there have been any changes, but pertaining to two of the worst models; the nelf male of the live game has a lot more bland textures, lacking much more detail than the demon hunter even with traits that aren't related to DH's alone...

And the Troll male, which this link here, the first post, pretty much sums up the majority of their biggest issues: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1762537-Troll-models-in-6-2

Comment by TwilightNova

Those Fel Reaver models... whew boy

You thought it was terrifying when you got stomped on by one of those, but now they'll give people legitimate nightmares (if they didn't already).

Comment by igorsan

Yay to owls not looking like parrots anymore! \o/
